For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hi

have come to say thank you

have had some amazing support from all the tenners during some very down times and it's been nothing to do with vegetables but everyone was so lovely

I still buzz around mn but I had some rl things going on to do with my other main soapbox passion (I'm thinking you may all remember!) which meant I had to break the mn/facebook link which sadly was all here

I'm eating rubbishly and feel like an utter fraud here anyhoo nowadays

but I think of you all, Tiger and baby, Franny and dses, (good luck with shoes) Toot, warrioress, bunny and hopeful relocation, womble, everyone

anyway it was just a thanks -- you fruity bastards

xx

littlerach · 17/05/2009 10:18

Ditto TooT
Washing yesterday still isn't completely dry.

Good to see you Stuffit.

I went to Barcelona some years ago and bought 4 pairs of shoes

I really want to see Coraline but ds has decreed it a girl's film, so doesn;t want to see it.

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 16:17

Tell him ds1 has gone with all his skater chums to see it this afternoon. It is about a girl, but it's not particularly girly I don't think.

I have sanded the top half of that bastard dresser and I am still vibrating and can't hear anything. It's Really Hard Work.

Mango
Welsh cake

I am making a chick pea, potato and spinach curry for dinner, to have with poppadoms, cucumber and mint yoghurt and lime chutney. Dh moaned about it being vegi so he will have a lamb chop on the side and will hopefully realise the superfluousness of it.

pointydog · 17/05/2009 16:32

Why are boys so averse to a story which has a girl as the main character?

I don't know whether the answer to that is astoundingly simple or terribly complex.

FrayedKnot · 17/05/2009 16:33

We are having curry for tea too Guad but I have decreed it will be from the Takeaway

I have done 1 hr in gym and 1.5 hr bike ride / park with DS today so not sure I can be bothered to stand up for long enough to cook tonight

F&V crap so far, so will only be ordering veggie stuff.

pointydog · 17/05/2009 16:43

I am making jamie oliver's pork belly, with the vegetably gravy and everything.

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 16:53

Yum, I love pork belly. We drove to Jimmy's farm just to get some good pork belly a while back. It was delicious. I do the gravy with veg in the pan like Jamie's one every time now.

FK - I would prefer takeaway tbh, I am knackered but I have started now.

mollyroger · 17/05/2009 17:06

well, he loved Golden Compass..?

But on the whole is is allergic to girls.

SuperBunny · 17/05/2009 17:16

Lemur, are you going to Kentwell Hall? I LOVE it there. I remember a man running round shouting, "THERE'S A MAGGOT in my pottage"

Hi Stuffit - was that a goodbye?

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 17:30

Do you think the fact that the film is called the girl's name has something to do with it?

My friends used to work and dress up at Kentwell hall as teenagers. I was always jealous hearing about it. There was lots of affray amongst the hay by the sound of it.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/05/2009 18:17

No we didn't go to Kentwell Hall (although we plan to sometime this year as it's only 20 mins away), the renactment was in the grounds of the National Trust property in our village.

It was great and there were loads of exhibitions and things for the kids to get involved with. My nephew tried out the archery and learnt the finer points of killing with a spear type thing. All the kids there loved it and was shouting 'kill, kill' whilst charging

SuperBunny · 17/05/2009 18:23

I don't want to see Coraline, the trailer freaks me out.

Reenactment sounds good. As does affray among the hay.

I just plated tomatoes and peppers out. And have lilac flowers for my salad at lunchtime.

pointydog · 17/05/2009 18:31

I am so in love with Jamoie Oiliver. His pork belly was delicious, his gravy superb. He helped me up my portions. I think I need him as my personal trainer.

orange juice
grapes (x 2)
carrots
broccoli

oh, that's poor. There are reasons, though.

littlerach · 17/05/2009 18:36

I cooked a roast dinner today

Broccoli
carrots
sweet potatoes
peas

banana
pear
grapes

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 18:45

Ooh, two of my favourite bands have made a new band together and they are playing in London in June. I might try and go. I never go anywhere fun these days.

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 18:47

Molly - ds1 said the film was fantastic. He was bouncing round excitedly when he got in but then maybe that was the sugar. I don't even want to think about what he buys in there now he's unaccompanied.

pointydog · 17/05/2009 18:47

what bands, guada?

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 18:50

The White Stripes and The Kills. They are making a new band called The Dead Weather. Well, they've already done it, I think it's touring America. I love Alison Mosshart.

SuperBunny · 17/05/2009 18:52

"I never go anywhere fun these days" Guad, you are always going out - nice dinners, to see films, samphire swishing...

Guadalupe · 17/05/2009 18:54

Yes, sorry, that does sound spoilt. I mean exciting like out late and dancing. Apart from that forties night I have barely been out since my op.

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2009 19:01

i love kentwell but i hate those blinking re-enactment nonses
that was where my friend used to re-enact as well, and it was all cider and shagging as i told you before
i think it is self indulgent shite - which is FINE don't get me wrong - but i object to the way they dress it up as educational [puritan]

anyway
sorry it should be one of my parp subjects

i've been orienteering
which isn't self indulgent shite dressed up as educational at ALL no sirree
