For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lemur - I'm so sorry to hear about your baby boy. Thank you for telling us - that must have been hard. I'm glad you like to talk about him and I hope you do come, although of course we all understand if you decide not to.

Guadalupe · 16/05/2009 19:57

I took dd to see Coraline this afternoon. Absolutely fantastic. We loved it.

Guadalupe · 16/05/2009 19:58

And we saw it in 3D although that was an accident.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/05/2009 20:01

Baby Lemur and ds1 look very much alike, especially from certain aspects. They have the same grin and the same cupid bow lips. The also both have the same mellow and contented disposition, which makes me a very lucky mum!

So lovely that ds2 is crawling. Well, it is lovely but it can also be a pita can't it?!

Guadalupe · 16/05/2009 20:04

We are all so excited when they crawl but actually it's much more relaxing when they don't isn't it? Since ds started to crawl he has done everything very fast, crawls, walks, runs fast. Everything quickly. My nerves are shot.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/05/2009 20:05

I'm more worried about him flipping on his tummy while swaddled and not getting back over again. I think I'm worrying about nothing tbh.

I swaddle him as it helps him nap for longer, but as he either flips or breaks free his naps are getting shorter anyway.

I'm waffling.....

Metz, that alcopop was called Metz. Phew, feel better for that.

FrannyandZooey · 16/05/2009 20:06

after ds2 was born and we were in the hospital i thought i was hallucinating as he was so exactly like ds1
now they are quite different imo although people always say they look alike
ds2 is going to have brown eyes and is the spit of dp

how lovely to have mellow babies lemur
i'd love to meet ds2

FrannyandZooey · 16/05/2009 20:07

neither of mine ever really rolled lemur so i don't know much about it
even now if ds2 is on his back he is stuck like a beetle

Evening lovely veggers

Lemur thank you for telling us about DS1. There must be difficult moments often - I hope this is somehwere you feel able to talk and not feel awkward

I cna;t imagine taking DS to see anything like Coraline for years. In fact we haven;t even been to the cinema at all yet, because all the full length films he has seen (only a handful) have disturbed him in some way....

WE tried Robin Hood and Merlin on TV and both of those he just sat mouth agape and I could tell it was really worrying him.

I would say girls are harder but then my sister & I used to sit and weep at "Lassie Come Home" so perhaps not

littlerach · 16/05/2009 20:33

Dd1 watched James and the Giant Peach today, as they are doing it in school.
She was terrified by parts of it.

We tried Merlin too, and she didn't like it.

Dd2 won't sit still long enough

littlerach · 16/05/2009 20:33

Oh, TT pooed in the living room today when I was cooking and dh was in charge.

Dds found it hysterical

ahundredtimes · 16/05/2009 21:45

Right. Am very excited. I had thought that it would be nice to do something with each dc alone as they finish Y6, like a sort of marking of moving on if you like, and also to do something to check-in and make sure we're all talking before teenagerishness. I like artificial things like this, which become family folklore before you know it.

Then I thought, well perhaps ds1 and I should do this thing at half term.

Then I thought perhaps we should do it in Barcelona?

I'm having GREAT ideas tonight.

SuperBunny · 16/05/2009 21:52

Toot

And Lemur... I don't know what to say Your post was very moving and I hope you feel able to talk about DS1 on here.

What an excellent idea, ahundred although I am not sure about Barcelona. I think it is overrated.

FrayedKnot · 16/05/2009 22:17

So 100 you mean like going to Barcelona the week ater next

I quite like Barcelona, my sister lived there for several years, so we saw a less touristy view of it I think.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/05/2009 22:21

Last post of the night.

blueberries
banana x2
dried fruiit
OJ
beans
avocado
satsumas

Thanks to all of you for your kind words, it means a lot.

ahundredtimes · 16/05/2009 22:41

Oh but SB its not over-rated if you're 11? Surely! Besides he's going with me. There will be lots of art galleries and a Gaudi tour and loads of fantastic food and a great deal of staring at people. I am trying to find somewhere to stay. I want to stay in the Camper hotel with the hammocks and jelly shoes.

SuperBunny · 16/05/2009 22:46

An 11 year old will love it, ahundred. Especially since they will be with you

I love Gaudi.

Raisins
Herb salad

ahundredtimes · 16/05/2009 22:47

excellent answer SB well done.

pointydog · 16/05/2009 22:52
  1. We were going to see Coraline tonight but the dds decided they fancied watching eurovision. Still watching . Will see coraliine soon.
  1. I loved that Judderman ad!
  1. Good day.

sultanans
orange juice
houmus
beetroot (half a jar)
grapes
baby corn
green beans
chickpeas (but maybe that can't be counted due to my houmus?)

Somewhere between 7 and 8

FrayedKnot · 16/05/2009 23:01

Sultanans sounds like a Eurovision singer Pointy...perhaps the one witht he silver trousers?

pointydog · 16/05/2009 23:02

oh yes, Mr Germany in silver. Dita von teese's waist was unfeasibly small in that corset

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/05/2009 07:28

Half a jar of betroot Pointy? You'll have red wee today lol!

It is pissing it down today and we've planned to go to the Medieval renactment. It better bloody stop, I've been looking forward to this.

TooTicky · 17/05/2009 08:23

Pissing down here too. And I have washing to dry. Bugger.
