Okrahoma! where the wind comes sweeping down the plains - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol

You're being polite. It's mad.

Yes, they were zippy. Thank goodness. I must have become overly-relaxed don't you think.

Beware Pointy. I too was once guarded.

ahundredtimes · 09/05/2009 22:43

No, it's not actually mad. It's in answer to your endless wiping days. When you've wiped too much in a day, then you must look at the video.

womblingalong · 09/05/2009 22:43

Well, when I went for my screen test, the presenter who did it literally spoke to me for 40 seconds about the concept, and then extemporised, off the cuff, for 5 or 6 mins on the range/brand. I was seriously mpressed. They work so hard too, one thing, then on to the other, and have to be able to turn their hands to anything

FrannyandZooey · 09/05/2009 22:48

i am not being polite! it had my name in and barack obama and everything! i bloody loved it!

lol at 100 not being able to decide whether she meant to send it or not
it is my anti-wiping shield
i love it

I liked the tattoo and the lady talking about how she couldn't find an apartment! Yes, I thought you'd got it hours ago and had been sitting there thinking 'wtf? Why did she send this.'

I lost my confidence about the whole operation.

womblingalong · 09/05/2009 22:52

Oh, now my curiosity is piqued, I want it too.

ahundredtimes · 09/05/2009 22:57

I don't have your email address, otherwise I would send one to you too!

I have to go to bed. Am tired. So long, noble fruitiers.

SuperBunny · 09/05/2009 23:00

Very good ahundred. Your meals but be interesting. I like lasagne. But what did you say that had to be deleted so quickly?

lol @ mnhq being called fat

womblingalong · 09/05/2009 23:00

SuperBunny · 09/05/2009 23:00

And what is this secret email?

SuperBunny · 09/05/2009 23:01

Night night you lot

FrannyandZooey · 09/05/2009 23:04

100 put her name in by accident
it's a video thing where you put the person's name in and it looks like they've been nominated mother of the year LOL
it's really funny

First and probably last post on a 10/10 thread as I am too unhealthy to join, struggle to eat 6 portions of fruit and veg on a good day.

Anyway, have seen this thread title for a few weeks now and I keep reading it as

"Okrahoma! where the wind comes sweeping down the plantanes"

TooTicky · 09/05/2009 23:20

Blimey Flappy, you do better than me. They just tolerate me cos they are kind.
Are you a fruit bat? That would help. Moths don't count I'm afraid.
Do stay

TooTicky · 09/05/2009 23:25

The link works Franny, but I am too restless to sit and watch things. I assume it is a watching thing. I have a real problem with it [freak]

FlappytheBat · 09/05/2009 23:27

Thank you TooTicky, think I probably will stay, need the incentive to get fit and eat healthily!!

Don't know what type of bat I am, cute and cuddly (probably too cuddly) so might just say that I'm a fruit bat!

TooTicky · 09/05/2009 23:34

Yay, cool!!

Have a seat. Or would you prefer to dangle?

SuperBunny · 09/05/2009 23:43

I keep thinking of plantains, too Flappy. You should stay for a while.

Hello TooTh.

FlappytheBat · 09/05/2009 23:45

Hanging upside down is fine!!

Does a few large glasses of wine count as a portion of fruit?

Today, I had

glass of orange juice
banana
strawberries
kidney beans
green and red pepper

you see, only half way to 10/10 and that is a good day for me!

SuperBunny · 09/05/2009 23:47

Fruit bats are not cute and cuddly. They have big eyes but they turn around when they wee and spray it on everything. Pipistrelles are much better.

TooTicky · 09/05/2009 23:47

Yo Bunny

Well, I have had...um...
raisins
a tomato
a few baked beans
a dollop of hummous
about 3 slices of peach

hmm

SuperBunny · 09/05/2009 23:48

Halfway is good. Here is my list for today:

Sultanas
Peppers
raisins
apple
Assorted fruit

FIVE

TooTicky · 09/05/2009 23:49

oh dear, didn't know that about the weeing
