For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

aha! here you are

mollyroger · 05/05/2009 20:51

I thought Iwas being funny with pea and leek jokes and gracie hopping around, but no-one laughed

Nicky, do we know you well enough to say Fuck off for getting a 10 yet?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/05/2009 20:52

I have never been into the old cancer sticks and luckily I can take or leave alcohol. Food on the other hand ............

I do wish I liked to exercise though. I don't know if it's because I'm lazy, but I just don't get 'it'. DH is a runner and has been for years, I sometimes feel envious that he enjoys it so much.

The 'funny in their own way' comment was a compliment I wasn't taking the piss.

Guadalupe · 05/05/2009 20:52

Well I might be crying on dh if he were here but he seems to be stuck in London on some dreary work problem. No doubt he will come home with infections when he finally arrives.

I have a praline flake in the fridge. I keep thinking about it, mmm. It must be more pointy than a normal flake but I don't care today.

Guadalupe · 05/05/2009 20:55

I rarely smoke now but if I do I am never tempted to start properly again, probably because I was drunk enough to feel rough the next day and not think about it.

I often get a sore throat though, maybe due to cilia singeing.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/05/2009 20:55

I giggled at the pea and leeks joke Moll! You are very good at puns and often slip them in I have noticed.

I got 10 today, where's my fuck off?

littlerach · 05/05/2009 21:01

Lemur, I have no desire it exercise either.

I rareky drink nowadays.

And gave up smoking when I was pg with dd1, though often get a whiff os fresh smoke and fancy one

mollyroger · 05/05/2009 21:03

Fuck Off Lemur!!! >

Guad Go eat the flake. You need
it, you want it. You deserve it. x

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/05/2009 21:04

Great news about the sale falling through.
Well no for your IL's, but ykwim!

I'm now signing off for the night. A nice hot shower awaits me. Then into bed with a good book - heaven.

See you tomorrow fruity bitches!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/05/2009 21:05

Oh thanks Moll. I'll take it as a compliment

Boco · 05/05/2009 21:06

I like cigarettes, I could go back to smoking SO easily. I only have one occasionally but I think about them quite a lot. Like today. I'd like a marlbro light and a glass of wine VERY much right now. But will have a bath instead.

Post of SHAME posted TWICE to highlight SHAME.

pinkspottywellies · 05/05/2009 21:16

Hello [tired]

tomatoes, mushrooms, raisins, pear, oj, cuc

Pathetic

TigerFeet · 05/05/2009 21:24

I would kill the cat or pawn dd or something equally drastic if I could have a marlboro light and a few pints of stella

TigerFeet · 05/05/2009 21:32

Guad I hope you're snaffling your flake praline as I type. It's the least you deserve to mark your anniversary. Hope you're OK

pointydog · 05/05/2009 21:45

well well. Are all veggers reformed smokers? Sometimes I would love a cigarette and a cold beer too.

pointydog · 05/05/2009 21:46

or a cigarette and a glass of wine. I cannot remmeber at all the last time I had one. I would feel such guilt

pointydog · 05/05/2009 21:49

My final list (you wil see I am not expecting any of you to remember my original list):

sultana bran (ok, I realise now that bran doesn't count but there were at least 10 sultanas in there)
banana
peas
tomatoes in much pasta sauce
2 oranges, one following on teh heels of the other

I couldn't really give it more than 6.

I am out of dried apricots.

FrayedKnot · 05/05/2009 21:51

Wotcha veggers

Guadalupe · 05/05/2009 21:52

I am collecting piles of apricots in my cooperative order tomorrow. You can have some of them.

Dh is helping with the collection first thing and then I have to help sort for up to three hours apparently. It better be worth the oats.

pointydog · 05/05/2009 21:54

Co-operative Order? Collecting apricots?

I cannot begin to picture what you are on about. What country are you in?

pointydog · 05/05/2009 21:55

you;re not in guadaloupe, are you?

FrayedKnot · 05/05/2009 22:04

Lol, somehwere a little more easterly, I think, Pointy

Not sure that apricots are an indigenous fruit in that area.

Guadalupe · 05/05/2009 22:07

ROLF, far east in east anglia.

I am having my second go on a bulk food cooperative, lots of people ordering lots of things at cost price and then sharing it out. Cheap and good but a royal pain in the arse to organise and that's after the worthy meetings.
