For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Franny, you're old one will probably turn up in a toy box in 3 months or so now that you've fretted and searched and got a new one. That always seems to happen to me.

SuperBunny · 16/04/2009 20:07

your not you're

In my defence, I am reading lots of articles about Hillsborough so am not focusing on my typing

littlerach · 16/04/2009 20:09

Yes, whenever I do a cull of odd socks, the matching pairs always turn up a week later.

My sister is coming ot visit tomorrow and is bringing lunch so I don't need to do anyhting

And I spoke with a friend today about my referral and didn't cry (I have cried too much now )
So positive attitude and all.
Onward sand upwards.

banana

dried fruit

Baby Lemur had a session with the cranial osteopath today and spent the whole appt madly windmilling his legs and arms on the treatment bed He was really going for it, I thought he was going to take off at one point.

I made another batch of granola today and added linseeds for the first time, it has made me feel like a real vegger!

SuperBunny · 16/04/2009 20:14

I love linseeds. I have a ton of them and no matter how much I use, the pile never seems to get smaller. Baby Lemur sounds very busy!

Well done LR

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/04/2009 20:20

Yes well done indeed LR.

What do you do with linseeds SB? I bet they're nice toasted on a salad.

I had a salad tonight and managed to flick the bastard balsamic over my white, yes white, top. Gaaaahhhhh.

Yes, Baby Lemur is very busy but he shows no interest whatsoever in crawling.

mollyroger · 16/04/2009 20:46

I have linseed in my porridge every day.

Am just about to tuck into cauliflower cheese with onions, mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn, and tomatoes.
Have also had veggie pizza slices, plums, melon and strawberries.

God, I am having so much fun on the AIBU famous books thread.....
I can't remember the last time I loved a thread on MN so much!

FrayedKnot · 16/04/2009 21:14

TF so pleased everything well with DD2

Glad Mit's DS is home safely too.

Have done an hour in gym but rather too many chocolate things and only about 5 f&v.

I just had chocolate spread AND butter on toast. Mmmmm.

SuperBunny · 16/04/2009 21:46

Linseeds go in:

bread
porridge/ oats/ muesli
smoothies
yoghurt & fruit for DS puddings
cakes (either has whole seed in banana bread type things or ground up as egg substitute)

and thrown on the flower beds - v pretty blue flowers

Boco · 16/04/2009 22:05

Erm
Strawberries
cucumber
carrot
Avocado
Orange juice
green beans

Rubbish really, but have excuse, as dinner was defrosted from freezer in a hurry as we were in the hospital all afternoon and got back late. Had a shepherds pie i'd made ages ago and don't remember it ever tasting that bad. Evie had one more test, and the results of bloods - and it's pretty positive as there's nothing underlying and scary - they think just damaged lungs from the episode in Poland. And hopefully as she gets bigger and stronger it'll all get better.

FrannyandZooey · 16/04/2009 22:15

Oh you wally.

I love diaries. I have a very beautiful Charlie Harper diary that's almost too beautiful to write in, I just stroke the pretty pictures of boids.

FrannyandZooey · 16/04/2009 22:19

ds2's bot suddenly randomly bad again! in oddly extreme way
when i took his night time nappy off there was a really clearly dileanted rectangle of redness up the back of his buttocks
corresponding exactly with where the absorbent pad part of the nappy was! it looks like someone drew a red square on his bottom with a ruler - really odd
no idea what suddenly caused it
ah well, we are going to see dermatologist again next week then perhaps treat ourselves with a little steroid dalliance

Good night.

Guadalupe · 16/04/2009 22:33

Oh very good news about dd, Boco! That's brilliant.

FK - I meant to say it's called 103 on the unthank road. Very nice.

Guadalupe · 16/04/2009 22:35

Everyone I know seems to like musicals. DD LOVED it so it was worth it. I laughed a few times, the pop up sheep were funny. I ate nearly a whole of fruit pastilles too.

SuperBunny · 17/04/2009 00:24

Strawberries, grapes, 1/2 banana, watery 'tot' juice, mango, fruit gum jelly sweet things that were oily and gross but I ate the whole packet anyway

Interesting re DS2's bottom Franny.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 17/04/2009 08:06

DS went swimming with friends, but the pool wasn't open, so they 'hung around' in town for two hours for it to open. A couple of hours in the pool and then food. They missed the train to get back so 'hung around some more'

At 1pm they saw one of the boy's mothers who said she would phone me....she had a mobile with her, but didn't.

Me and the other mother were on the phone for the latter part of the afternoon, starting to worry, although we guessed nothing was to untoward as they seemed to ALL be AWOL.

I was getting worried, not cross....he is so so mixed up and avoids being at home too much. I sat at the station for a bit incase they had missed their stop and had to go to the next stop and return. When I got home, he was hiding in a little corner in his room. He gets very angry and defensive. He is 11.

He had credit on his phone but spends it all on the internet. Will tell him he needs to keep credit on his phone or will downgrade it.

He hasn't had a DX for anything, it is complicated but sadly he was blamed repeatedly by someone close to him for things that weren't his fault and he has massive abandonment issues. . My poor poor little man.

I have a low grade migraine. But he is OK and understands he is worried about because he is loved.

I am going to sit quietly in the corner. And make myself a nice big glass of intestines.

Boco, I am so relieved for you. xx

I have read others posts but this is too long already.

TigOeufFeet · 17/04/2009 08:36

So sorry you had all that worry MW. at the other mother for not ringing you...

Great news Boco, here's hoping that the summer brings improved health for E.

Poor ds2 and his geometric rash Fran. Does it make a difference which type of nappies you use?

I still can't eat in the mornings which is buggering up my veggerness somewhat... it is hard to get a significant number of portions in if you can't squeeze a few in of a morning. I'm averaging 6 or so a day which is probably better than most people manage. Only had 4 yesterday though

Guadalupe · 17/04/2009 09:15

My ds is 11 and he has been on about having a phone for ages. I have said no thus far but there are times I would like to ring and find out where he is. I think I will let him have one in September when he goes to high school.

TF - I am not eating much fruit in the morning atm and it does throw you for the day portion wise. As soon as we get paid I am going to buy the entire tropical fruit aisle. I am so bored of scabby apples.

I have a scan to check ovaries in a bit and it says to have black tea. Why? You don't have to have black tea for pregnancy/gynea ultrasound do you? Bleuurrgh. It's rank, even with sugar.

Franny - does that mean the nappy strip is irritating him then, they are just cotton aren't they?
