For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Cheers SB!

Lemur, check your FB!!

mollyroger · 15/04/2009 20:17

hmmmmm tapas!

I am waiting for dh's pizza dough to prove. And my first of the season baby spinach will soon be adorning the top. Along with tomatoes, red onions, olives, sweetcorn, with coleslaw and salad on the side.
I am constantly famished at the moment.
Guad, I'm trying not to substitue chocolate for fags

FrayedKnot · 15/04/2009 20:19

Evening

LR glad you managed without the beta blockers and things were OK when you saw your friend.

Franny I do sympathise, I have a diary for personal stuff, and outlook calendar at work for work stuff and I also put important personal stuff in it as well - I have such a horrendous memory I could get up in the morning and check diary and have dentists' in the afternoon and still forget to go if I didn;t have a reminder in my work calendar.

I also put my to do lists in my diary as well - again, I can;t remember anything otherwise.

Even eating loads of f&v does nothing to improve it

Pink I think your hotel plan sounds good, particularly double bed for you & DS

Maybe having the side bars off the cot won;t make much difference? DS didn;t get out of bed for about 2 years after we took the sides off his cot.

I mean he didn;t get out at night, not he didn;t get out ever

Guadalupe · 15/04/2009 20:20

oh yes, I remember that. Well, do whatever it takes in the first place I reckon. I am very impressed with your efforts. That wasn't meant to sound patronising!

We made pizzas yesterday. I forgot to add the yeast. Miraculously, adding it at a later stage sort of worked and it was edible. Well, they ate it.

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2009 20:22

apple, grapes, prunes

Guadalupe · 15/04/2009 20:28

Not sure I have ever eaten a prune.

FrayedKnot · 15/04/2009 20:30

Guad would you mind posting location of tapas place? I love tapas so much I might go next time I am in your area.

Molly I am also impressed. I tried for years to give up and only managed it when I was pregnant, which was easier due to horrible MS anyway.

mollyroger · 15/04/2009 20:31

I haven't eaten a prune since primary school, (with semolina)

mollyroger · 15/04/2009 20:32

....you all have the kind of lives that need organising with a diary!!

I went out once, I think it was nice.....

The intestines separated into slugs floating in.....umm pink, bitty liquid. I drank it though lol!!!

Hullo all! you are nice and chatty and I am sorting DD's bedroom.....will be gone for some time.

FrayedKnot · 15/04/2009 20:49

I do have the odd one, Moll, but have so far resisted slipping back into it. By the odd one I mean about 10 a year - mostly on big nights out when slightly tipsy

It's a bastard isn;t it. You're doing good so far though, hope you can keep going.

Prunes. I couldn;t eat a whole one.

mollyroger · 15/04/2009 20:52

non. Je pense que le mot juste pour les prunes est.....

une prune.

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2009 20:53
