For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yes I am on FB. How do I find you (I'm crap at FB!)

Ah Yoxford, I don't know it as such, but I've driven through it quite a few times, it always looks lovely.

mollyroger · 15/04/2009 10:26

morning!
Hello Toots
x

Franny how hideous. I am imagining tyou fretting and pacing the streets now...

Managed not to smoke last night despite being at big boozy bbq party from 3pm til 11pm

Alos can report
tomatoes,
veg pizza,
spinach,
roast aubergine,
cucumbers,
vegetable kebabs,(onions, peppers, courgettes, tomatoes, mushrooms etc)
fruit salad,
lettuce,
roast corn on cob,
bean salad.

I reckon there's at least 15 there!!

littlerach · 15/04/2009 10:57

Lemur, no idea!
Do you have any other veggers on there?
If not, will post my email on here.

pinkspottywellies · 15/04/2009 15:54

Franny! Hugabub is here and in the wash [excited]

DS had his jabs this morning. He screamed the place down! DD just opened an eye then went back to sleep when she had hers!

I've just expressed 4 oz of bm Took about 15 mins. I'm sure it used to more difficult with dd. Just need to see if he'll take a bottle now. DD didn't bat an eyelid as long as she got her milk! Fingers crossed for the wee man cause I'm going out on Sat night [fear]

Pinapple, kiwi, raisins, apple juice.

My mum's on her way Hoorah!

pinkspottywellies · 15/04/2009 15:59

Has your diary turned up Franny?

Well done Moll, keep it up

What do people with 2 children do about hotels rooms? Do you think we'll all manage in 1? I'm thinking dd in travel cot, me and ds in double bed and dh on pull out bed if we can get a family room in a travelodge.

DD has just been up in her cot for a lie down and drink of milk. Then i heard feet across the landing and little voice say 'I got out of my cot! I'm out of my cot. I had a little sleep and I'm ready to play!!' I couldn't stop laughing!! So sides off now I guess. Which is a pain cause she's not going off to sleep very well now it's so light at bedtime. Oh dear!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 15/04/2009 16:17

Oh Pink you sound lovely and bright...

I was trying to have a conversation with the guy working on my website and DD kept blowing 'farts' on my shoulder.... I was in tears crying with laughter... Needless to say will have the conversation another time!! lol

Dontcha just love them?!

Am very emotional and wobbly and like a yo-yo...but trying very hard not to let slip the progress I have made.

As if life wasn't complicated enough I am a little 'lostatsea'

Chasing my tail with busyness though so the distractiuons are good.

It is quiet on here so I hope everybody is busy having good times for the holidays and stuff,

((((())))) (just cos I need one)

pinkspottywellies · 15/04/2009 16:21

(((MW)))

I know you like to keep busy Mitz but do you ever just have some time to relax?!

nickytwotimes · 15/04/2009 16:24

Hello all.
Littlerach, beta blockers will probably help the headaches too. They are used as a migraine treatment.

at thought of losing entire diary. You never know, soem kind soul might reunite you with it. It does happen.

TOday my list is
OJ
apple
grapes
veggie soup
salad
2 kiwis

so am getting there.

I have raging PMT today combined with feeling a bit puky and freezing cold.

Feeling very sorry for myself actually, which is a bit off considering what others have to deal with.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 15/04/2009 16:32

Pink....when I lived at home we didn't have a television and to our family, 'relaxing' was sort of doing things. So I actually feel more like myself when I am on the go. When I stop doing things, like when my anaemia was so very bad, I get frustrated at not being the me I am used to.

I get twitchy until I am active again, although I do recognise the need for slowing down a bit, I do not want to go there again because it was counter productive.

Nicky for you, it is horrible when you feel like that. Can you spoil yourself a little bit? Hope you feel brighter soon....

nickytwotimes · 15/04/2009 16:35

Mm, Mitsubishi, maybe I should make myself a lovely glass of intestines?
Seriously, I am heading off for a luxurious hot shower while dh and ds are out, so that should perk me up a little.

I used to smoke for comfort, gave that up, started on the grub and now giving that up -well, not altogether obvioiusly, just the junk, so water therapy it is.

littlerach · 15/04/2009 17:03

Thanks Nicky.

Googled the side effects and they include insomnia, s&d and bad circulation.
Insomnia is the one thing that I don't have currently!
I think I will "save" then for if I need them.

I have managed well today, and met a friend with her children and they all played and I didn't tell her, but i laso didn't cry.
Phew.

Broccoli
carrots
sweetcorn
bean burger which had numerous htings in and may possibly count as 1 portion.

Timmy the rabbit is being grumpy today.
Think his run around the lounge yesterday worried him

Guadalupe · 15/04/2009 17:36

I think I was given beta blockers for imsomnia once. I can't remeber if they helped.

Franny - what a pain. I don't have a diary but I think I could do with one and I expect I would come to rely on it. I currently have things scrawled all over a calendar.

Pineapple
strawberries
cress (loads so I am going to count it)
tomatoes
orange juice
and in a minute I will be eating tuna and prawn harrissa rice with, baby corn, peppers, broccoli, onions, sugar snaps, cabbage, carrots and mushrooms, prob three portions or so.

I am ravenous, we've been swimming which we never do. In fact, ds2 has never been but it was quite fun, not too petri-dish like and there was a huge flume. We had to go in the van which chugged and spluttered all the way there with children thrown from side to side. Now I have been persuaded to do sleepovers.

Gorgeous day here.

littlerach · 15/04/2009 18:12

It has come out nice here now.

I don't have a diary. I write things on pieces of paper and hope to put it on a calendar.

FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2009 18:15

diary has gone i think
i trawled through town retracing my entire route and realised on the way that street sweepers would have been and cleared everything up, so i found a cleaner and asked him where lost property would have been taken to.....

..."it'll have all just gone in the black bag love"

i don't have a calendar, or an address book that I keep updated - this is IT
am a fool
fuck knows what i am meant to be doing for the next half year
dp keeps saying things like "what time is ds2's appointment next week.....? Oh."

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 15/04/2009 18:16

how on EARTH do you manage without diaries? [baffled]

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 15/04/2009 18:19

Another one feeling sorry for myself. Too much stress, headaches. Need to see my dr so was glad to remember I have an appointment in a couple of weeks only to find out they have rescheduled it for 4 weeks. Argh.

Enchillady thing (black beans, tomatoes, peppers etc) [2]

littlerach · 15/04/2009 18:22

Lots of bits of paper Fran!
And a calendar.

I rarely seem to have appts (except the latest one) so no need for that.
It is usually meeting friends and we always text to check we are still on.
Hairdressers written straight on calendar.

I do have a wrok diary but that stays at work.
And i use the outlook one on my emails for my other job.

SuperBunny · 15/04/2009 18:22

Oh Franny, most frustrating.

I have a word document as a calendar for each month. I print it out and put it in a magnetic frame thing on the fridge and write everything on it. I know I can never lose it.

mollyroger · 15/04/2009 18:32

I have a calendar on the wall with everything written on. Cn't do diaries as I lose things too easily....

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/04/2009 18:32

Oh Franny, what a bummer. My life is in my filofax, I would be lost without it.

Banana
apple juice
melon
cucumber
grapes
humous
carrot x2
cauliflower

My sister, niece and nephew came and visited today. It was lovely to see them all

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/04/2009 18:34

LR, I don't know any of the other veggers in FB. Post your email and I'll send the document to you. If don't want to post it on the internet, we could sweetly ask Franny if she didn't mind forwarding us eachothers email.

SuperBunny · 15/04/2009 18:37

Lemur, I am on FB and know who LR is. You can email me if you like and I can help:

busy mamama @ gmail. com
