For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

PLUS
do you have Helpful Local Teenagers?
you need to get one to come in and play with dd for an hour here and there
you don't have to pay them much

I have Helpful Friends with children the same age. They helped me out those last awful fews weeks of pregnancy and would again if I need them. I try and get the odd early night too. DS is tending to sleep in the evening more now. Phew!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 20:43

I made a delicious (not so) smoothie today and it has melon, victoria plum, grapefruit among other things, the last glass full has settled and now looks like a glass of intestines!!!

Hmmmm...focus ey?

Pink... you are a lovely mum, (((((((((()))))))))) and invigorating vibes at what is a very wearying time..xx

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2009 21:09

pinkspottywellies · 14/04/2009 21:53

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2009 22:27

it is one of those exquisitely annoying things to happen
i really run my life by my diary - will have to try to recontruct it piece by piece and fail in all sorts of niggly ways

Hello

LR I am sorry that you are going through this. Hopefully the beta blockers will help - I have taken them in the past and had no side effects.

Franny, hope someone recovers it.

I am not in bed yet TooT

On my way though...am working 6 hours a day this week instead of my normal 4 - but obviously DH is at home doing all the domestic stuff

Am back in focus today and just did gym & yoga.

Guadalupe · 14/04/2009 22:41

Littler - Really sorry you have this worry. Hope your appointment comes soon and you can put your mind at rest.

SuperBunny · 15/04/2009 00:54

Thanks Toot. Nice to see ya.

I'm knackered. Took DS to music class then home for lunch and then his friend came to play then we all went to a community playroom and then we did a Bhangra class and then he did drama and I sat and read my book and tutted at the parents who talked loudly all the way through.

Grapes

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 15/04/2009 07:15

3 chocolate digestives,
kitkat,
2 cups of coffee,

The other week has bolloxed up my cycle and I have permanant PMT.

Will attempt to drink the glass of intestines to redeem myself. lol.....

littlerach · 15/04/2009 08:02

Your breakfast sounds yummy, Mitsubishi

FK, that's what I wanted to hear about beta blockers. I haven't used them yet.

V bad headache.

littlerach · 15/04/2009 08:03

oops, Hello TooT, so glad you're back!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/04/2009 08:35

Morning all.

Do you think the headache is a tension/worry one LR? Deep breaths and fresh air can help. But I'm guessing the appointment being over and done with would help even more? Aren't you holidaying in Suffolk this year? Would you like me to send you a list of places to see that I compiled for another MN'er? I'll gladly send it to you if you let me know your email. Maybe it will help take your mind off things.

Hi Toot

News Flash: Baby Lemur slept from 7.30pm-7.15am with a dreamfeed at 10.30 I however was awake at 4 and 6 with huge porn star boobs

BBBee · 15/04/2009 08:36

good luck with everything littleR.

from what i remember beta blockers block adereline in your system (fight or flight stuff) panic attacks etc can be an overproduction of adreneline and so these really help to reduce the panic feeling. my sister had them to get over a fear of flying (actual fear not the erica jong book) and really helped.

best wishes.

x

littlerach · 15/04/2009 09:49

Thanks bbbeee.

Lemure, are you on Facebook?
Would love the list of things to do.
