For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Beta Blockers are often used in heart conditions LR. which will be why they will be used to regulate panic attacks.

Give yourself time to adjust before you cancel plans though, you will know if you can cope or need distactions. ((()))

littlerach · 14/04/2009 12:19

Thansk Mitsubishi

TigOeufFeet · 14/04/2009 12:54

Oh LR
Try not to read too much into the speed of the referral, it's my understanding that they always err on the side of caution in these situations and rush everyone through. I'm here holding your hand for the next couple of weeks while you wait, although I am probably bad company atm, whilst I wait for my anomaly scan tomorrow after last week's scare with the baby. I keep welling up, crying, having racing heart etc etc [fret][fret] so I can really understand where you are and how you are feeling. I'm at work, keeping busy, trying to be normal, which does help a lot.

Avi I will cat you so you get my home email address. Can't log into hotmail at work

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 12:59

TF ......how are you?

TigOeufFeet · 14/04/2009 13:08

Hello Mitsu, I'm busy sticking my head in the sand, pretending stuff isn't happening

Glad to hear you are improving, life is so much easier when you have a little bit of energy in reserve, it sounds such a trite thing to say but it is true. Did I ever tell you I was referred to CMH a few years back? I particularly remember being told "you know, it's fine to feel crap when all this stuff is happening to you, most people would" and that really helped, hearing from a professional that it's normal for life to make you feel like shit at times.

Right

off to the supermarket local organic home woven vegetable shop for some salad for lunch [focus]

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 13:36

Thanks TF....that means a lot...

littlerach · 14/04/2009 13:53

Thanks TF.
Will hold your hand too

SuperBunny · 14/04/2009 14:28

Yes, Toot, come back!

Oh LR Sorry. I know people will be bombarding you with stories but I had similar when I was 19 and the lump turned out to be milk tissue that had moved above the normal breast tissue - it resolved itself and was a huge relief. The waiting is awful.

Mits, hope you are ok.

Avi, I'd email if I were to be in the country but since you are not planning your meetup in ChiTown or even on my continent, I doubt I will be able to make it

littlerach · 14/04/2009 15:50

Coem back TooT

Maybe we should have the meet in Chi?

I like positive stories, SB.
Unfortuntaley a freind of mine had breast cancer 2 yrs ago when she was 35. She had double masectomy and 6 lots of chemo and is fine now, but it makes you v aware

She has a history of it in her family which apparently counts for a lot.
We have no history of it.

Am managing to put it out of my mind more at the mo. Phew.

Food.
Chickpeas
red pepper
green pepper
sweetcorn
spinach
muslei

Boco · 14/04/2009 15:55

Sorry about your worries LR, it's good they're being thorough - do you have long to wait until the appointment?

littlerach · 14/04/2009 16:48

I don't know.
I have to be seen within 2 weeks but don't know how long it will take ot actually get the appt, if that makes sense.

SuperBunny · 14/04/2009 18:14

LR, I Wish we could say something to make you feel better but I suspect that nothing will really help til you get your results.

Coffee
Jelly beans (fruit flavour)

pinkspottywellies · 14/04/2009 18:21

I'd need a bit more notice to save up for a meet in Chi to be honest! But think we'll be there for this one

littlerach · 14/04/2009 18:23

Thanks SB.

Banana (in custard. Yum)

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2009 18:36

rach, that is rough and I wish you a swift appointment and a weight off your mind

pink i have sent the sling
i'm embarrassed to say when i got it out of the cupboard it looked a bit mucky (think milky dribbles on a black sling ) but I knew if i waited until i had washed and dried it, another week would go by before i posted it
so i have just slung it in parcel to you
i hope that is ok, you can just lob in machine and get started hopefully
i have stuck the dvd in there also which is helpful for video of how to put it on
i would try to get used to tying with the pouch part underneath though - this gives much better leg position imo and also will be the way you tie a woven wrap so good to get used to

there is a thread called the sling cupboard where people make slings and stuff
my woven wrap is called ellaroo, some others are storchenwiege or didymos
if that helps your earlier question? or just search for woven wrap

rach those blinking SEEDS! i have forgotten again, sorry

lemur i ordered the cavilon
it sounds more or less the same as what we are using but something new can't hurt

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2009 18:57

Thinking of you LR, and also thinking of you tomorrow TF. Fingers crossed all round.

I can't believe I didn't think of the Cavilon earlier. I think it's because I was thinking of eczema solutions rather than a barrier. I hope it works for ds2.

Banana
apple juice
melon
grapes
peas

Oh dear, I've fallen off the wagon and need to get my arse back on it.

Got to go, Baby Lemur is wailing in his cot, rather than snoring away.

pinkspottywellies · 14/04/2009 19:11

Thanks Franny! Don't worry about washing. Will just chuck it in with my next load!

I was feeling a bit close to the edge today. Losing my (rather precarious) grip on things. But dd had a sleep this afternoon - thank god! - and ds slept too so I had half an hour pottering about planting seeds, washing up and putting washing on and felt much better. Also made carrot cake muffins while the oven was on for tea - my last 2 carrots were just the right amount for the recipe. All is well.

BBBee · 14/04/2009 19:30

hello - meet up - yes - good- right. lovely. love you.

xxxxx

nickytwotimes · 14/04/2009 19:46

Hello all.
I was away for the weekend and only on briefly last night.
Have only skimmed the thread, but sorry to hear about your health worries LR. I hope everything goes okay. As for beta blockers, I love 'em. I had them for anxiety and they did help a fair bit with minimal side effects for me anyway. I still have a few aside for emergencies.

Well, we were visiting my ILs at the weekend. Every kind of animal was served (not great for me as I am a piscetarian, lol) but very few veggies. Mananged about 5 a day tops.
Today have had
OJ
strawberries
grapes
mushrooms
banana
mixed fuit salad.

Not very impressive, but better than before.

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2009 19:46

you ok pink? what was it, tiredness? it is overwhelming with 2 little ones sometimes
and i don't think you give yourself a lot of leeway

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 14/04/2009 19:57

yeah i'm ok Franny just weary of the relentlessness and tiredness! Wish dd would sleep sometimes in the day just to have half an hour to myself! Wish someone else could feed ds too. Got to go out on Sat night so gonna have to start expressing, so will see how that goes.

Excuse appauling typing. guess what i'm doing!!? this has taken me ages.
