For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Grrr. I was playing scrabble with a facebook friend and she took the win because I was late playing my turn! No-one does that! The time limit is just the default setting.

TigOeufFeet · 13/04/2009 21:18

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Rach, hope all is well.

A huge well done Molly, I've done the giving up smoking thing (several times ) so I know how hard it is.

FrayedKnot · 13/04/2009 21:35

Hello

LR I will also be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope it goes OK.

Not very focussed today.

Spent 5 hours in car this afternoon as we got stuck on a road that was closed due to an accident. I am glad to be home safely.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 13/04/2009 21:35

Awwww pink...surely she knows you have a wee one?, you seem to be beating me again though......

pinkspottywellies · 13/04/2009 21:42

MW We started playing the other night and were both on at the same time so had a few turns and were chatting and I said that most of the games I play take ages cause everyone's online at different times. She's started another game with me but I don't think I'm going to bother. I was kicking her ass too! She'll ruin my stats

Tiger do you still smoke ever or did it work the last time?!

FK, glad you back ok but pita to be stuck in the car all day

TigOeufFeet · 13/04/2009 22:32

Poor you FK I hate tiresome car journeys and it always makes me feel odd to get stuck behind an accident

Pink I last gave up last summer... I go for months or even a couple of years and then start up again for a few months, then give up again. Daft really, given that even when I smoke it's only at work or if I'm out on the lash

I'm so monumentally shite at scrabble that I get embarrassed and give up . If I'm not good at it I don't wanna play

SuperBunny · 14/04/2009 04:25

LR, thinking of you.

Pink, I have done that but only to someone who didn't go for months and months.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2009 08:01

Good luck today LR

And well done Molly

I too am shockingly bad at Scrabble. Looking at the words I manage you would think I only know one syllable words

My bf and her boys are coming over today for a picnic at the park in our village, I can't wait as I haven't seen them for ages.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 08:26

Have a good day Lemur.

My DC's should be going to a play club thingy every morning for the rest of the week and I am to say I am really really pleased. I will be able to grab some me time get some jobs done in peace!

Right I am going to Re-Focus. Health wise I am pleased to say I am starting to see real signs of improving. I am having proper bursts of energy that don't leave me sloth-like when they are over. I actually nearly have complete good days. About Bloody Time.

Extra vibes LR........

Hello all else.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 08:54

Oh, and Toot is OK....aren't you Toot?

Toot?.....C'mon.....

Could you answer a question for me please? How long does it take for your Homeopathy man to get back to you? Answer on here please............

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2009 09:02

Toot, come out come out wherever you are, I miss you .........

Mits - I can tell from your last few posts that you are feeling better. Your lists are bigger and there is a different tone to your posts. I'm very for you

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2009 09:11

morning all

another egg hunt today
and crazy golf

dp is back at work which is a bit daftly scary
we have had such a nice week and i have felt so relaxed and not anxious at all
ds2 has been really settled and his skin on his body and face is fab, and his bottom, while not fab, is actually a bit better, without using steroids, for the first time since christmas hurrah! i think combination of lots of potty stops (my genius son ) and good barrier spray recommended by lurker and silver liner at night, and just loads of nappy changes and air and stuff, is finally finally paying off a bit
but blimey it does take a lot of time away from ds1
it was only really doable with 2 adults around so i am expecting a slow decline again this week

however! must be positive! yes indeed! and focus! hurrah!

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2009 09:34

what is the name of the barrier spray you are using Franny? I know of one that is fab, but I can't remember what it is called. If it's not the one you are using already, I can find out the name.

Stay positive Franny, you can do this. Deep breath. Onwards and upwards

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/04/2009 09:47

franny - I have just had a lightbulb moment. The stuff I was thinking of was this. The foam tipped applicators won't be much use to you, but I think the cream and/or the spray would be. I don't think you can buy it over the counter here, but you may be able to get it on prescription? Or you can probably get it shipped from the the US, no doubt someone on EBAY is selling it!

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2009 10:05

oh thanks lemur, that looks excellent
i also saw one called gloves in a bottle or something, which is available over here
the one we've used is called (laughably) sprilon
it hasn't fixed it but it does seem to help stop it getting worse
you can use on even broken skin and as you don't have to rub on you don't damage the skin further

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 14/04/2009 10:46

I was thinking about your pottying last night Franny when I couldn't sleep [saddo] I guess it's going well! Glad the bot's better and hope it stays better

TooT!! Are you lurking? Come on out! I have tahini on toast for you

Raisins and apple juice so far, but fruit at the ready for 11ses.

Sling people! If I get some cotton fabric (not jersey) to make a sling, can I use the Moby (or similar) as a pattern? Or is it different due to being stretchy? And what names are there for woven fabric slings to look on youtube for how to tie? Or can I just do it exactly the same as moby/hugabub?

littlerach · 14/04/2009 11:28

Not good news

Been referred to breats clinic for scan.

Also been prescribed beta blockers (??) as had bad panic attack when there

Will be seen within 2 weeks.

Freaking out even more

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 11:33

Oh LR....I am so sorry. for you.

The waiting is as awful as anything. Can we do anything to help?

littlerach · 14/04/2009 11:36

Knock me over the ehad so I sleep til the appointment?

I am crap at waiting. I keep having "worst case scenario" type moments whciha ren't doing me any good.

mollyroger · 14/04/2009 11:37

LR, sorry to hear this. Sending positive vibes.
x

mollyroger · 14/04/2009 11:44

hopefully will just be a benign cyst and nowt to worry about.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2009 11:48

LR.....Can you put your address on FB! If you don't mind.

We will 'sleep' together. I have been referred to community mental health team because DS's social worker is concerned on the impact the last few years has had on my mental health. And my AD's are really high.

I am more positive and trying to be 'warriorish'. But it is hard.

Try to 'live in the moment'. Do you have something you could throw yourself into? Spring cleaning is very cathartic.

littlerach · 14/04/2009 11:51

What are beta blockers exactly?
Will they make me nauseous?

Keep thinking I will cancel plans made for htis week as am worried I iwll sob and shake.
But i guess I do need to be busy.

womblingalong · 14/04/2009 11:51

Oh LR, Sorry to hear that, Thinking of you. x

Mit, glad to hear you are getting a bit better.

Try and look after yourselves.
