For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

(and 2 pain au chocolats - bother those trousers)

Guadalupe · 30/03/2009 13:22

Two! Mmm, sounds nice.

I have had tuna with olives, red onion and lettuce and tomatoes on ryvitas with orange juice and some pickled beetroot. I don't normally buy the ones in vinegar but I craved it today for some reason. Could murder a pickled onion too.

littlerach · 30/03/2009 14:03

How's dh, Guad?

TooT says she has had nettle, goosegrass and dandelion leaf soup today. Also a banana.
She has no elecrtic so am posting on her bahlf

Guadalupe · 30/03/2009 14:10

He is in disgrace, LittleR, but I am being quite civil.

Goosegrass soup? How odd.

littlerach · 30/03/2009 14:37

Think that's what she said.

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2009 14:42

ooh looky here

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2009 14:44

if you like shiny green shoes that is

what shall i cook for dinner? we had people coming and now we haven't
i have lost momentum

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/03/2009 15:03

I've been looking at shoes like that, they're everywhere. But I'm well aware that they can look spot on trendy, or really grundy. And I have a horrible feeling they will look the later on me!

For dinner you should have caramalised red onion tart. Caramlise 3 red onions in balsamic, butter and a pinch of sugar until the onion almost looks like chutney. Put onions in loose bottomed tin. Make a cheese scone mix with strong cheese and a bit of mustard and put ontop of mushrooms. Put in oven and it's ready when the cheese scone mix is cooked. Delicious with a peppery salad.

Yum!

And nice shoes. But I think they would look frumpy on me

Dd2's goldfish is almost dead. But still keeps gulping.

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2009 17:46

ah i am not fond of red onions
so the scone goes on top? that sounds cool except for the onion bit
clever veggers

i have done frittata with onions, mushrooms, peppers, pinto beans and corn, and a spinach, carrot, and tomato salad

plus korma for tomorrow with onions, mushrooms, peppers, cauli, carrot, swede, raisins, corn, chickpeas and black eyed beans

have interesting news about Neighbourhood Boy, will tell shortly

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2009 17:46

i have v similar shoes in red suede so if they look frumpy on me I DON'T CARE

i wish these were not patent though
they are freaking me out slightly

FrannyandZooey · 30/03/2009 17:48

EPPM, Ignore the Agave nectar or use honey instead. I just left it out. Apple sauce, yes just stewed apple I suppose. You get it in jars here and it is a staple food. No idea why.

Hello to Toot and her slightly odd hedgerow soup. Very frugal.

Are clark's shoes acceptable in the UK now? They are highly sought after here and seem to be with the designer shoes in many shops. And they are very $$$$

I hate milk (except on cereal for some reason, but it has to have sugar) but I do porridge with stewed apple (microwave a couple and keep in the fridge to do a couple of days) honey and raisins. Yummy.

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 30/03/2009 18:09

It was me, Justa, I put a hex upon your soup, so you'd know we ain't friendly. Grrrrr.

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 30/03/2009 18:11

Goosegrass is what we used to call sticky willy (sticking grass). Apparently, they lose their bristles when plunged into boiling water.

Baby nettles are nicer, IMHO. (must go and pick some before they get too tough)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/03/2009 18:29

Yes, cheese scone goes on top. Roughly work the mix to the size of the tin, then plonk on top and puch the edges down so the onion doesn't leak through. The onions taste like warm onion chutney. It's delish, but only if you like red onions I guess!!

SB I went into Schuh (trendy shoe shop chain) and they were selling Clarks shoes. I never thought I would see the day! They were just like the first one's Franny linked too actually.

How did soup go off? I sent my cupasoups to a fellow expat.

I don't know who justabout is. I can't decide if it is someone I know or not.

I have to get changed for work - last time I wore this outfit (a vest top with a cardy over the top) a 7 yr old told me I would do my cardigan right up because she could see my breasts and I should put them away

We used to make nettle soup. No goosegrass though. I might have to try that one day.

SuperBunny · 30/03/2009 18:33

Clarks in Schuh? Wow. I remember when Schuh only had a couple of branches and was rather exclusive. Do the Raw shoe shops still exist? They used to do really cool laces for Doc Martins. They seem quite popular here now as well.
