For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I think my corn my die - I only planted it out on Thursday. Crap.

Happt Meetup Toot and Atilla

SuperBunny · 29/03/2009 15:38

might die, not my

Guadalupe · 29/03/2009 15:56

Molly - you are quite near Atilla aren't you? You could have hitched a lift down and had a group hug, except you might be sneezing on them. Hope your mega cold is better.

I missed the party bag question. Mine always love getting bubbles in them. Stickers are quite good too.

Right humungous roast is nearly ready. I'm starving.

Pink - why would people stare at a sling? He's really little. Don't they have them round your parts?

Guadalupe · 29/03/2009 17:01

God, that pudding was delicious. Like Eton Mess but low fat yoghurt instead of cream. I'd go as far as to say it was nicer than with cream. Usually I find it a bit claggy.

littlerach · 29/03/2009 17:05

I love eton mess, and pavolva.

Have been to Lacock, think Harry Potter and several period TV and films were filmed there.
Dh wore shorts, I wore jacket and pashmina as it felt cold

I am half way through 100's book. It is so good, and very how she writes, isn't it?

Have large fruit salad for later - strawberries, kiwi and pineapple.

Snow SB .

FrayedKnot · 29/03/2009 17:23

Guad I would have been fuming

I hope you enjoyed your raost anyway

I am making pie.

Have been to gym, but it's cold and I'm in a carb-stuffing mood.

SB hope your corn survives the cold spell. I planted some very ancinet corn but it hasn;t germinated. Everything else has...does it take quite a while or shall I write it off do you think?

You don;t see many slings round these parts either. Not sure why.

SuperBunny · 29/03/2009 17:28

We planted our corn in a plastic cup inside - after 3 days, it was about 3cm tall and very sturdy looking. In less than a week, it was 10 cm tall. So, I don't think it should take very long.

mollyroger · 29/03/2009 17:54

leeks, red cabbage, carrots, green beans, apple sauce, sugarsnaps, onions,
Rhubarb!

Guad, I have made about a pint of rhubarb syrup - do I just add it to vodka and hide in the dark? or what?

Guadalupe · 29/03/2009 17:57

I'd just bung it in.

What do you mean hide it in the dark? Is that so you forget about it?

mollyroger · 29/03/2009 18:00

oh I thought it might be like sloe gin where you hide in the dark for a couple of months.
Probabaly it is so you forget about it and not drink it straight away...
Possibly I might have meant, me hide in the dark and drink it secretly!

pinkspottywellies · 29/03/2009 18:10

If people do use slings it's the baby bjorn type ones I guess, but mostly it's just car seat on travel system pram type baby carriage. Mine is a pouch sling and I think people wondered why I was carrying a strange bag, then saw me holding the little hand sticking out! There was lots of pointing

Guadalupe · 29/03/2009 18:14

I only ever got on with a baby bjorn so maybe that's why. Still, you see pouch ones all over the place round here.

Lol, Molly, yes, you could keep it on a high shelf and swig it secretly when needs must. I didn't know that about sloe gin either. Mine has always stayed on the shelf.

TooTicky · 29/03/2009 18:14

Atilla is so lovely.
She has just left

SuperBunny · 29/03/2009 18:14

How odd Pink. I think I was lucky to live in Sling City - everyone uses them in my neighbourhood but then it is known as being a haven for leftie granola types.

Guadalupe · 29/03/2009 18:15

Sling city, sounds dark and dangerous.

mollyroger · 29/03/2009 18:15

lol, must share this with you.
When he was cooking the pork, DH told me he'd used around 30 Bay leaves to flavour it.

Er, but darling, says I, we don't have a bay tree aymore. I took it and planted on the allotment as it wasn't too healthy-looking. Er, WTF have you used?

He points to a Myrtle bush.

Bear in mind, this is after dinner.

I googled Myrtle and Poison to check it was ok and got a load of poison plant sites and was scaring myself witless that we were all going to die horribly.

Turn out, not only is myrtle edible, it is also especially used with pork! AND had antibacterial properties and can be used in bronchial complaints!

DH is now strutting around like a shaman...

Guadalupe · 29/03/2009 18:18

Ha. Clever him. Will you brew a tea?

mollyroger · 29/03/2009 18:20

well, I shall just do a little more research to check it's definitely ok, but then yes! As i have run out of dried thyme and my bushes are not yet properly sprigged up!

SuperBunny · 29/03/2009 18:24

I did not know Myrtle is edible! Well done Mr Roger

SuperBunny · 29/03/2009 18:25

Oh toot, only just seen your message - am glad you had fun together

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/03/2009 18:37

pmsl at shaman husband!

Lavenham and Hadleigh are near Kentwell Hall SB, Long Melford and Glemsford are all in the area as well. I think all of the towns got rich wool trading.

Oh, Baby Lemur is ready to be tucked up, will be back later.

The boy is in bed. He is extremely tired, but I can hear him pissing around in his cot still

The laughing would have finished me off Guad, I would have blown. However I hope you can resolve it in a more adult fashion than I would.

We've been to Norwich today. We were going to go round the castle but ended up taking ages over lunch and coffee instead . Have you been to Captain America's in Norwich guad? That is dh's all time fav place for ribs and a pepsi float!

I love Long Melford, it is my favourite place to go to book fairs, and all the lovely hotels and tea rooms and the Hall is gorgeous - the gardens, and the fish that all swim up and GAPE frighteningly at you when you feed them from the bridge

Guad i am glad he is safe
well maybe safe
not safe from you perhaps

I love the name Baby Lemur - it makes him sound so cute and furry. I would love to meet up sometime Lemur, we are not far from you. Let me know if you want to take in my town in your tour of Essex villages

FrannyandZooey · 29/03/2009 19:46
