For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/03/2009 08:16

ha ha at all of this talk of chalky cocks Your first comment was v CCF Franny and it made me laugh - which is more than the book managed

And Tigers yeasty comment made me giggle too. Hopefully the ms will start to get better soon? Mine never disappeared over night, it got better over time.

I had seven, yes seven hours of continuous sleep last heaven. Woo hoo. I feel refreshed and have FOCUS

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/03/2009 08:17

I went to bed at 9, read (100's book) for an hour. The next thing I know ds is wimpering and it's 5 o'clock. RESULT. He isn't sleeping for so long in the day and I think it's helping his night time sleep. Maybe the weaning is having an effect to - although a lot of people would disagree to that comment!

You must learn how to make minature dragons. You can't call yourself a good mother otherwise

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/03/2009 09:02

affect !

AtillasGotABrandNewBag · 16/03/2009 09:04

Why do I always miss the interesting chats when you are swimming naked in glasses of champagne or mounting expeditions to big phallic landmarks. Bah.

And my hormones are rampaging again

Hello! .

Hope it is not too bad Meerkat......

I am wnaky at decorating cakes and the air of disappointment always hangs heavy with...'well you might be arty but you can't decorate cakes for toffee'

Lots of malteser covered ones in this house.

Why oh why, if you are having internal invetstigative examinations can't they arrange it so you see one specialist?
I am thinking of doing guided tours.

Am back at docs this week....
Will be slithering slug like into the surgery....still no red-bull. So I am sleeping about 14 hrs a day!!

Can I have a sticker...pleeease.

AtillasGotABrandNewBag · 16/03/2009 09:09

And I bet no-one will be here now I have time to natter hold interesting discourse.

CompareTheMeerkat · 16/03/2009 09:55

Hello

Just reread my last post and realised it sounded like I was not a happy meerkat.

What I was saying is that I am not usually so good with my fruit and veg intake .

It is sunny. I like the sun.

Apple juice
Raisins

mollyroger · 16/03/2009 10:02

Attened the first bbq of the year yesterday! Ate mostly courgette, tomatoes, mushrooms, couscous and onions. As the meat was cooked to perfection, but appeared to have been marinaded in paraffin or wharever.

And I ROCK at Guitar heroes apparently...[preen]
On vocals!

FrannyandZooey · 16/03/2009 10:05

lemur EFFECT was right
sleep has not improved your spelling [bitter with jealousy]

meerkat oh good! i thought you were saying in polite understated way that things were not going well

i know no-one wants to hear about ds2's bot but it is worse yes WORSE after 10 days of steroids
i am thinking of trying chamomile tea but tbh it feels like too little too late

CompareTheMeerkat · 16/03/2009 10:09

I did a good pirate cake once. Was a big square cake, half with blue icing, half with yellow island (yellow grated icing as sand) with a rolled up 'ancient manuscitpt' (you know, scrumpled and soaked in tea) treaure map on, and an edible wooden chest with sweet jewels and coins spilling out, and a couple of icing sharks in the sea. Took me about 1/2 an hour and looked ace (modest)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/03/2009 10:26

at spelling, tee hee!

Sorry to hear about ds2 bot. Do you make your own wipes? Chamomile tea with a few drops of lavender oil is great for making your own. Do you think the thrush is still affecting (sp?!) his bot?

If I'm making cous cous in teeny tiny amounts (for ds) how much water do I use? Just enough to cover it?

DS likes blw when he feels like it. Other times he wants to be spoon fed. How odd. Gill Rapley assured me they all want to do it themselves!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/03/2009 10:28

Molly, am at the bbq, I love them. It sounds like your host got a bit over excited with the lighter fuel!

I'm now drooling just thinking about burgers and halloumi kebabs sizzling away on the bbq.

I just love this suuny weather, it makes such a difference to the way I feel. I have put washing outside today for the first time this year - hurrah. I LOVE hanging out and getting in laundry, it's one of lifes pleasures.

CompareTheMeerkat · 16/03/2009 10:30

I love hanging out washing too

TooTLooP · 16/03/2009 10:38

Franny, have you bathed him in rooibos?

As for cakes, just have fun! People seem to be impressed by my efforts (either that or are just very kind) but they do always look very homemade. All achieved without artificial colours, etc. And all vegan...
Just have fun and play.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/03/2009 10:44

tell me more about rooibos Toot, I've only ever drunk it.

Someone else who like hanging out washing Most people think I'm mad. I also have to sniff it when I'm getting it in.
