For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I'm here! It's been cold and murky here again today. Hope MiniKnot had a good birthday.

Bunny sounds like you're having a rough time of it but hurrah for your DS and his bike riding skills DD will have stabilisers for ever more I fear.

Really not eating any f&v at all atm

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/03/2009 19:06

Hello Lemur, how's yer stripy tail?

I'm still on the meds, every now and again I cut back but I get poorly again quite quickly [sigh]. 14+3 today, really ought to have snapped out of this by now

Our Freeview vbox has gone nutty and scrambled all the channels and I can't find anything at all.
And dh is away.
So i have eaten chocolate cake and chocoltaes

Also some good food:

carrots
humoious

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/03/2009 20:50

tf - my tail is fine and dandy, thank you

MS is not something you can snap out of, don't be so harsh on yourself. I remember suffering from ms and telling myself to get a grip, that was until dh said that it's ok to feel ill, it's not a case of mind over matter!

FrayedKnot · 17/03/2009 22:02

I like the sound of humoious, LR.

It sounds like a comedy form of hummous

Or however you spell it

SuperBunny · 18/03/2009 00:34

Hello

Juice
Leek and potato soup
Pile of cakes but they were from a vegan bakery so I think they should count.

Ten

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/03/2009 08:09

hello

It's v quiet here.

AtillasGotABrandNewBag · 18/03/2009 08:16

Take it easy TF...{{{}}}.

And SB...I hope you are 'bearing up'.. Fabulous about DS and his bike. That is amazing. It makes you bubble up inside doesn't it?

Belated birthday wishes to miniknot.

I have lost another toe-nail, still anaemic, but a slight improvement. Another infection for which I have AB's as the doc doesn't think I should try and manage it on my own at the mo. Also have something to try and help me produce saliva. At the hospital for tests and biopsy on 1st april.

Feel sort of numb about everything at the moment. Is it possible for emotions to close down when you are highly stressed?

Very busy with work which is good.

Must dash...have a good day to all

AtillasGotABrandNewBag · 18/03/2009 10:01

I think this is not the place for me to be, although you are all very lovely. Thanks for alll the love and support, but I am going to completely unsubscribe. Too much.

womblingalong · 18/03/2009 10:09

Oh Atilla,

You don't sound very good, If you are getting some support from here I mean MN in general, not nec 10/10, then you can always come back when you feel able. I hope you are getting some RL support, I am here if you want to chat.

littlerach · 18/03/2009 16:38

Attila.

Why is it that some days it really easy to eat a shed load of f&v and other days it's a struggle?

Guadalupe · 18/03/2009 18:20

Sorry you still feel so rough, Atilla. Losing toeails are painful. I used to lose mine regularly from all night clubbing in bad shoes but of course that was self-inflicted. Sometimes a real life break can be refreshing. Good luck with things.

Hasn't it been a gorgeous day? Proper spring here. I have been wearing a bright green spring coat and it doesn't cover my arse but I don't mind as I have lost nigh on a stone. Hoorah.

Butternut squash and pepper soup and grapes and a duff mango. Salmon for dinner, with spring greens.

littlerach · 18/03/2009 19:42

A stone Guad
That's loads.
WEll done

The weather is fabulous, I hope it lasts though.

Carrots
Celery
Humous
Banana
Pear
Veg rissotto with
(more) celery
Peppers
Courgette

Lemur, that is a huge list.
I would give you a sticker but the Sticker Lady might tell me off

Guadalupe · 18/03/2009 19:59

Well, not quite, a pound off but I reckon by next week I'll the stone sticker and everyone will clap.

Guadalupe · 18/03/2009 20:00

get

ahundredtimes · 18/03/2009 20:17

So they should. That's very impressive. Are you hungry all the time? Everyone says WW is the only way to do it. Perhaps I might do it too. I will ask for a 2lb sticker and clapping and burst into tears when they refuse.

Sorry have only read the last few posts, haven't time to read it all. Where did everyone go?

Hope you feel better soon Atilla. RL usually the best place to go when things are stressful ime. Hope everything sorts out for you, and the trip to the hospital instructive.

I've eaten some stuff.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/03/2009 20:35

Blimey Guad, well done. That's fab. Surely there are some tales to tell of quirky members of the local WW?!

100x - I'm loving the book and can't wait to keep picking it up as I just can't tell where it's going (a good thing!) I LOVE the description of P's mum's teeth and a broken pearl necklace. I knew exactly what you meant.

Where is everyone? In a big f&v black hole?

ahundredtimes · 18/03/2009 20:40

Good, good. Thank you! People's teeth always seem to jump out at me, well not anymore obviously as I'm a grown-up sort of person who is no longer alarmed by protruding teeth. Not at all, obviously.

Who knows where they went? It's spring innit. Perhaps they've all left the hall and set up in some dreadful wigwam and not told us? We're left here, kicking the chairs and admiring Guad's weight loss.

ahundredtimes · 18/03/2009 20:41

And her new slim-line arse in that nifty little green jacket.
