For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

She's not too bad thanks TF, she fell asleep this afternoon at a friend's house, so not well exactly, and bad at night, but am still quite hopeful that she'll fight this off without it becoming pneumonia. Maybe because by now she'd usually be far worse, so, that's a good sign. Just wish she'd get through the night though, as I'm a bit sleep deprived and tetchy.

AtillaTheHairyArsedTrucker · 10/03/2009 20:52

I'm not here.....I am very busy and have new customers and all sorts.

Oh Boco, your poor wee baby.....and you...fingers crossed for you..

Some one did make me smile about my weight.
I bought a portion of chips and curry sauce and he just said dead straight faced...'you'll double in size if you eat that lot'....lol

I could only manage half though.

Fab about music class Guad...that is what children need, not their spirits squashing.

And it does sound so lovely and maternal pink...I loved BFing SOOO much. DD used to suckle for hours...

FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2009 21:14

boco hope you have a good night

toot thanks for that - we are just going to give it a try

btw i notice people being very careful what they are saying to me about this anxiety thing
don't be worried i am not feeling sensitive about it in that way, i just appreciate the time people are taking to advise me and i will think it all over
it's all helpful, very
but you needn't all mince words or worry about offending me cos you won't

Franny do you read all jacqueline wilson's books, to yourself then?

FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2009 21:39

FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2009 21:42

it started when i was nanny
the girls ADORED her and i spent all day with them and always tried to join in with their interests
it was dull life otherwise
i found them riveting and started buying them to get to read them first
i love children's books and have emotional maturity of teenager so enjoy them greatly
i think she is genius writer - the apparent simplicity - superb

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2009 21:43

p.s. boco i don't read them out loud to myself
just in case you wondered

Boco · 10/03/2009 21:43

erm.

No?

Isn't she doing well, she's very nice. I LOVE a webchat where everyone is pleased and appreciative and nice. Has this ever happened before? She was at that exhibition I was in last year adn I liked the way she only really paid attention to the 12 year olds and ignored all the adults.

TooTicky · 10/03/2009 21:44

I like the illustrated Mum too. Oh Franny, there is an early one of hers, can't remember what it is called...

TooTicky · 10/03/2009 21:45

...about a girl who went to be a nanny or mother's help or something...Coral? and she liked Victorian clothes and her boyfriend wasn't very nice...

TooTicky · 10/03/2009 21:46

...pretty sure it was one of hers. She had a friend with a baby...

FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2009 21:47

illustrated mum blew me away
never read a modern children's book like it! truly subversive, marvellous read

she has ideas for ds2's nappy rash - v good ideas

i love lurkers

"Maybe you also need to get your head around the fact that you (or anyone) may not be able to get ds's skin better."

i can't really accept that, no
that is not ok

Oh franny. It is all so familiar, this whirl to find a cure that you are going through. MoveIt makes a very very good point but it is completely understandable that you are not anywhere near the point of being able to accept that possibility.

Homeopathy and hair testing?! I tried homeopathy - I look back now and know I was mad - but hair testing is a new one.

You are ona cycle to find The Answer and you have to let it run its course.

FrannyandZooey · 10/03/2009 21:56

yep
this is it

Did anyone mention stickers?

Guad how annoying of the woman, but it is great, you know. Most people lose a lot the first week but then not so much the second. It took me ages to lose a stone.

Has Avi been in?

I went to yoga. I think yoga should be on prescription. I can really highly recommend it for people of an occasionally anxious or stressed disposition.

Pink, keep eating

Boco · 10/03/2009 22:02

I had the childish need to phone my wizard up when I found out that it was a nickel allergy causing my rash, and not any of the explanations she was coming up with and treating, so nothing she gave me could have worked, and it was a lot of money. But I needed to do SOMETHING ,but only thing that worked was proper hospital allergy testing. Is that possible for ds? It's just, you've always been VERY dubious about homeopathy, and I thought you had to believe for it to work.

pointydog · 10/03/2009 22:03

Trip to homeopath with dd2, 5 months:

tell me about the pregnancy
were you anxious during your pregnancy?
how did you feel during the pregnancy?
tell me about the birth

cut out cow's milk
use goat's milk formula (dd2 recently fully on formula by this stage)
give dd2 a tiny tiny tablet (can'rt remember if it started off once a day or once a week)
stop all steroid creams, very very important ot stop all steroid creams
it will get worse before it gets better

So the killer is, can you watch your baby's skin get worse while ignoring medical advice and stopping steroids?

I couldn't
