For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

OsmosisBanana · 02/03/2009 17:52

Ugh.

London... horrid. I always forget how much work it is.

no F&V for a couple of days now... but then not much food of any kind so only to be expected.

Am now trying not to be really slack and take the rest of the week iff as I pulled a sicky today and am going to Kaiser Chiefs Weds, Kernow on Thurs for my bday and then off till Tues...... Oh the temptation to start early... It will be my 30th afterall...

Are you on FB too Ranty?

FrayedKnot · 02/03/2009 17:54

Hello

Attilla I'm sorry to hear that you have got to this point but like Molly, I hope this is the opportunity for you to move on from this situation which has obviously been making you miserable for a long time. if you need to get anything of your chest we are all here.

attila - sorry to hear what you are going through. well done for making the decisions - they are the hard things.

SuperBunny · 02/03/2009 18:32

Hello OB

Tree enegry sounds wierd. Bats sound like cicadas too, if you record them and change the frequency.

Lacking F&V & food in general. I never lose my apetite so this is a bit strange.

Lemon

SuperBunny · 02/03/2009 18:33

Tatties, that looks very hard. I am impressed.

Guadalupe · 02/03/2009 18:55

Phew, ds1 got his first choice of high school. What a relief. We are in the catchment for five but three are shocking, one is okay and this one is the best but of course hugely oversubscrbed. One less thing to think about.

pinkspottywellies · 02/03/2009 18:59

Tatties is a fab knitter I have a mug cosy.

Honey, glad you've made a decision and hope you can start to move on and get happier.

Lemur, keep lurking. Don't go far.

TooT I like the fake list idea Will be fun!!

This morning I got up and left DH in bed and got both my children breakfasted and dressed (with no TV), cleaned dd's teeth, washed up and hung some washing out, all by ten past 9 [superwoman] (NB I was neither washed nor dressed) I then went back to bed for a couple of hours Going to give myself the rest of the week off now then I'll have to do it for real when DH goes back next week!

Oh and list:

tinned mango
raisins
juice
tomato soup (I always feel a bit wrong listing this but the label says it has actual tomatoes in )
grapes
mixed veg
more fruit to follow

I'm being quite good this week and drinking water too. I have bowel motion fear!
