For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hello Avi - I did get yr email but then DH has ticked me off, saying until it is IP protected [properly, I shouldn't talk about it

But I will tell you all about it as soon as i am allowed!

I have realised that I probably will not find out about ds school today as the letters go out today. 24 more hours of terror...

I have been lurking and probably will over the next few days. F&V intake has been shocking, but then all food intake (or lack of) has been shocking. I'm off to the Doc's again today as I think I've got some sort of infection (my face, neck and jaw line have morphed into one), and that along with the anaemia is putting the downers on my FOCUS. I WILL BE BACK though

There is an interesting programme on BBC2 tonight 8.30pm called Grow Your Own Drugs.

lemur
take care of yourself

thanks all, the advice is brilliant. in the event i will probably just seethe until she leaves and then whinge to dp

i have been trying to remember funnier ones she has done. eg the time she asked us to change our clothes as we were wearing the same ones we had on the last time she came to visit, and she wanted to take some photos

Oh Lemur, . Big sympathies. That sounds like the sort of stuff I am going through. I am at the hospital for more tests and examinations tomorrow and am a little scared now. Docs on friday for results from other tests....I am exhausted.

Soups and smoothies do it for me, easy to take and loaded with the right stuff.

Todays work is a small job though and then I am taking off somewhwere for an hour or so, and then painting for a few hours as I have a colony of spiders cluttering my brain with their webs...

It is quite a nice day though, so something to be glad about..

AtillaTheHoney · 02/03/2009 09:31

Actually, the weather is irrelevant.

I have told H that as far as I am concerned, our marriage is over.
However we got here, it is raw and painful and I should probably do a thread in relationships but I don't want to talk to a load of people I don't know about something so personal IYSWIM.

It is all shit.

I am breathing and that is about it.

mangolassi · 02/03/2009 09:40

Oh god, atilla, so sorry for you.

Keep breathing.

Do you want to talk about it here? fb?

Boco · 02/03/2009 09:40

Attilla's swearing has made me chuckle - you don't normally say fuck attilla? Let alone twice on a Monday morning.

Good luck with your mother Franny, I'd aim for breezy but end up shruggy. My mother often makes me revert to a 14 year old sullen shrugger, amazing how they can do that.

My mum gave me a box of dorset muesli that her friend left - i've never bought it because I won't pay £12 for a very small box of nice font. But it's very tasty isn't it. Much nicer than my floury organic stuff that goes all soggy and sad.

Today is my no children day, and after a weekend with brother who is another child but even bigger and noisier, i'm SO HAPPY. [listens to nothing]

Boco · 02/03/2009 09:42

Ahh, x-posts, I see why you're swearing now Attilla, sorry to hear that.

AtillaTheHoney · 02/03/2009 10:41

If I talk to anyone on FB it will be through private messages as my Neighbours are on.

Can't really talk at all at the moment. Hurts, just lonely and .

Guadalupe · 02/03/2009 12:30

Dorset muesli is delicious, dh was furious when I ate his whole box.

I think whizzers chocolate eggs are pretty nice but I particularly likethe shade of blue and green so I am biased. I might paint a room that colour.

Sorry to hear that, Atilla. Must be tough.

littlerach · 02/03/2009 12:50

Dorset museli is lovely.

Lidyl's muesli is almost the same and it has no dusty bits in either.

Attila, will FB you later. take care.

TooT, come bcak and make up lists, that'll be exciting as we can try and work out which things are true and which are fabrictaions

Fran, is she coming today or next Monday? I htink 100 nad BBeee have good ideas.
But I owuld be rubbish and inwardly be doubting everything i did, and then apologise for everything too.

TigerFeet · 02/03/2009 12:51

I had some Dorset porridge, twas lush. I wish I could justify spending £20 a month on porridge.

Franny, in your shoes I would want to look at her pointedly and say "I can't bear it either but it is the job of a mother to cope when things are hard and provide love and care to their dc". But in RL I would seethe inwardly and complain later to DH/RL friends/you lot. My Mum generally copes admirably, but whittles on about how things could be worse (shouldn't be annoying but often is) then spends the next two weeks congratulating herself on how well she coped and making sure that everyone knew how marvellous she was at dealing with the situation. Strange beasts, these mothers. Of course, mothers of our generation will not be so self absorbed.

Atilla, I don't know what to say . Poor you.

TigerFeet · 02/03/2009 12:54

Oh gosh Lemur, sorry, meant to say I hope you are soon on the mend.

Awaiting FBC blood test results myself... may get some spatone anyway.

Tomato Soup.

TigerFeet · 02/03/2009 12:56

Is it porridge or porrige?

Hello LittleRach

Tatties · 02/03/2009 13:18

I want to grow my own drugs. I am all out of Lemsip and I still have a fever and am sleepy and snotty.

Atilla

How is TooT today?

LOL avi! Well by Sunday night the weekend is all but over anyway... (I was checking something about what I am knitting, I didn't say it was a knitting-free weekend )

Tatties · 02/03/2009 15:00

I have just started this

mollyroger · 02/03/2009 16:12

Atilla - I am so, so sorry. But a teeny bit relieved that you are going to do something about the situation. Forgive me for saying so, as I don't know you very well, but it just seemed like the situation (ie Him) was sucking the life force from you.....
Have a hug
x

Fairlady - nice to 'see' you on FB (you are ver' pretty with gorgeous eyes!)

Tatties Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Our mad professor friend has just played me a recording of tree energy . He put electric probe into a tree and recorded the sound. It sounds like really hardcore cicadas.
I think I may start talking to my trees; keep on their good side, just in case they all start plotting against us
