It Ain't Nece-celery So - 10 / 10 thread - with new ADDED FOCUS

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The sausage and apple thing is good.

Fry an onion
Add celery, courgette, pepper, carrot and whatever else
Slice a couple of diced cooking apples
Add a tin of tomatoes and about half a pint of apple juice, some tomato puree, grill some quorn sausages, cut them into thirds and add, then reduce it all down. Serve with baked potato or mash. Is lovely and tangy and appley.

am putting it here so I don't have to scroll again.

"I'm throwing my arms around Paris"

by morrisey (obv)

there are dogs in teh video guad....

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 17:04

I can't hear it on this screen.

Are they barking?

I don't have cooking apples, courgettes or peppers. Will eating apples work? Hmm. Maybe another night.

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 17:11

Dd1 is getting called shitpants at school as well as nerdgirl

Boco · 09/02/2009 17:13

Oooh the slicing of something diced is irritating me, several times. It does taste good though. The apple juice is important for top tang.

Bee how about 'i'm throwing my artichoke leek around cabbage'?

I had an amazing day of nutritional saintliness, but then just went to the co-op and bought brownies and biscuits and ate them in a frenzy of sugar need. I saved one for dp, and then ran back and ate it in the manner of stray animal.

collapsedarch · 09/02/2009 17:15

TooT top responses are, in descending order:

Your point being?
What's it to you?
So?

Practice, do swaggering at each other and shouting shitpants and then say 'Your point being?' Is oddly enjoyable.

Much FOCUS here. Have made loads of stuff, granola, compotes, muesli etc. Ate loads of good stuff over weekend including brown lentils and pancetta and herb soup. Was v. nice.

Orange juice
Rhubarb
Loads of seeds in granola
Lettuce
Carrot and sweetpot soup
Coming up in the next two hours:
Borlotti beans
celery
carrot
toms
onion

Haven't had time to read thread. Sorry. Hope all well.

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 17:22

Oh heck, I can't guess namechanges. 100x?

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 17:23

Thanks anyway

stuffitllama · 09/02/2009 17:38

Hey all you are all so focussed it's an armchair sport for me

anyhoo Toot I got good advice here from scaryteacher and edam on bullying

it was simply to "be loud" back at them
I don't know how vicious these ones are but if she can shout at them "leave me alone" or "don't call me that" really, really loudly especially when there are lots of people around it's quite offputting

ds1 did it and it worked
your poor dd, don't you want to go and throw a bucket of cold water over the little sods

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 17:40

cold water with ice cubes and pink dye, yes

Boco · 09/02/2009 17:44

Oh Toot that's horrid, poor dd. Are you going to speak to her teacher?

What has happened to 100s arches?

BBBee · 09/02/2009 18:00

is it her garden, her house or her feet?

BBBee · 09/02/2009 18:02

I just posted boco's recipe to my friend and finally noticed that you have to slice the diced apple. Do you have to measure it too?

ahundredtimes · 09/02/2009 18:04

I'd love to have arches in my garden, even if they did collapse. It'd be all like an italian garden wouldn't it? Actually why we are on the subject I'd love a proper garden, except I'd then have to tend it, and I wouldn't, and that would get me down, so all well and good really.

We once went to look at a house that had a sort of italianate room in the garden, it wasn't very big but had very ostentatious pillars and a mosaic on the floor. DH loved it, was stupid. Was like a garden shed with serious delusions of grandeur.

So are you really going to do 100xs life plan Avi?

It must be quite easy to keep your house clean though, with all that no furniture, you can just sweep.
