It Ain't Nece-celery So - 10 / 10 thread - with new ADDED FOCUS

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Franny I'm 38 weeks now but yes was thinking it would be easier than in a few weeks! Got another inch of snow last night but our road was still like an ice rink under it! DH rang when he went to work and said the traffic was bad so we didn't bother.

Glad you're feeling better Honey.

I try and drink water so that dd doesn't think squash is the norm!!

AtillaTheMmmmSweetAsHoney · 09/02/2009 10:02

.....am almost 'Tigger-like' pink....don't want to get my hopes up to high but almost feel like my old self again.......

TigerFeet · 09/02/2009 10:09

Sounds good Mou

I like boiled water that has cooled to almost body temperature. Great first thing in the morning since I am now caffeine free.

38 weeks Pink oh lordy lord

We have snow this morning too, but probably not even an inch. The last lot hasn't completely melted yet though. Tis getting boring, I agree.

Dried apricots.

pinkspottywellies · 09/02/2009 10:44

38 +2 so I reckon baby will show his face in about 3 weeks!

Just take it steady Honey. I do this when I get a nap at the minute - feel like superwoman and plan things, then realise that actually 2 hours sleep in the afternoon gets me back to 'functioning' not 'superwoman'!!

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 11:01

Oooh, pink, it's so exciting!

I have been trawling through my bank accounts to see why I have been charged £30 this month and it seems I went over my limit by 18p on christmas eve.

FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2009 11:33

guad when that happened to me i phoned them and said "are you having a laugh i am a good customer" and they took it off

Guad I hope they refund you. That reminds me I must pay my credit card bill...

So far: apple juice, pear, avocado. All green

I was watching House of Eliott last night on history channel! Does anyone remember that?

Hello

I have remarkable focus today so I do. Mostly because I still feel a bit odd and dizzy so am trying to eat good.

muesli with added raisins
banana
3 bean salad - cannellini, adzuki, flageolet
spinach
celery
orange

How many is that? Do the beans count individually? I mean not each bean, you know.

The cat is driving me nuts, she keeps shouting at me, wherever I am, I don't know what she wants.

FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2009 13:18

boco it is 3 big tbsp of beans ina portion so it depends how many you ate

i am drinking water

and getting tetchy with boys

OsmosisBanana · 09/02/2009 14:00

sugar snap peas (gazillions)
avocado (spectacularly uncunting)
orange
fennel
leeks

hmm. 8. And unlikely to soar. No wait, there is a melon lurking that needs eating. I shall claim 9 in advance.

How long can I allow DH to wallow for? It is really getting me down now. I said to him last night in bed, in ajoking way after yet another throw away comment had turned into pratical gale force 10 row 'you don't like me do you?'

He said, 'not really, no'. I was more than as I have been busting my friggin balls trying to get the house sorted / painted / sanded etc - all of which is met with complaint.

In fairness he did afterwards say 'but then I don't really like anyone at the moment'.

However, why am I making all this effort if all I get is extremely cunting husband?

I have lost the yurt, hence why this is all here - my apologies.

Anyhoo... I had my first microbiology lecture and practical today. I am starting to feel that last semester was a bit like having a splash in the toddler pool at a family resort whilst this semester will be more akin to being chucked on a surfboard in the Atlantic.

I am now lurking in the library to avoid picking DD up from nursery as she is driving me a bit mental. Bad mummy.

OsmosisBanana · 09/02/2009 14:02

I don't know the thread title song. Mysterious.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 14:04

Oh, get a room will you.

Trouble is Franny I am not a good customer. I have a long history of charges being refunded, and not , but I try very hard these days to keep an eye on things which is why it's particularly frustrating when I don't notice 18p at christmas. Anyway they have refunded. She agreed the system had been a little over zealous.

I am not going to make flapjack any more, I just can't stop eating it.

I ran a bit, not a lot.

Lettuce
tomatoes
orange juice
dates.

Where is boco's sausage apple thing? I fancy that.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 14:07

Is the microbiology part of the new degree, OB?
How have you transferred, is it within the same institition and you carry the credits over.

What were you doing before if you will be dietician now?

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 14:07

I still don't know the title song either.
