For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

morning fruity fuckers. Love artichokes title.

So th whole country is recovered from the snow and we are trapped by the icey slope! No cars can get up or down. And the park with the good sledging slope is miles away and I will have to walk to supermarket and walk back with stuff

mollyroger · 07/02/2009 09:47

am going to have the mother of all fry ups.
Mushrooms,
beans,
tomatoes
is the only bit you need concern yourselves with.....

Boco · 07/02/2009 10:09

I have headache. Went to book group but there was very little mention of books and we hadn't mentioned books by 1am, when I went home. And dds up at 7 and SHOUTING. Why do they make so many blasting noises?

Am going to meet nephew this afternoon, very looking forward.

Guadalupe · 07/02/2009 10:16

Your book group sounds a lot wilder than ours. It's usually over by 10.30 and no-one ever wants to go to the pub.

Boco · 07/02/2009 10:19

Not sure about wild. Just talky. Everybody talks. a LOT. I liked the hostesses snack choice this time, there were very delicious cup cakes.

banana
i need lots of tea

Guadalupe · 07/02/2009 10:35

I love the snacks too. I actually ponder what the combinations will be before I go. Twiglets, grapes and chocoliebniz, or maybe crisps, jaffa cakes and cheese straws?

I've hardly read the books over the last two years but I'm enjoying this one. Beyond the Glass by Antonia White. I read Frost in May when I was quite young.

Mango.

It's bright and snow-free here.

morning

molly i just read the mn book (rather than just flipping through trying to see where i was in it) and you are in it! twice!

lemur we are using natureboy nappies which i think despite claiming to be eco ish, have the gel in and are bleached
so i am not sure why we are using them really
but we were fully on cloth when the nappy problem started - after 2 weeks of failing to improve it i ditched the clothies on the theory that they were failing to make it better
he could just be allergic to the gel or the chlorine though
oh bugger
moltex are really crap imo
i suppose we will have to go back to cloth but i can't see it helping when his skin is sore and itchy

any more titles? mine wasn't exactly a cross the board success

OP posts:
mollyroger · 07/02/2009 10:58

what did I say???

Franny I love the artichoke one.

Did we ever use pointy's onme (can't remember what it was )

Or there's my 'it ain't necce-celery so'

Guadalupe · 07/02/2009 11:04

We use the nature ones. I found the moltex really crap and extortionately expensive.

Ds2 has barely ever had a nappy rash with them apart from when he's been teething.

Tatties · 07/02/2009 11:06

The title is fantastic Franny and may motivate me to get my arse in gear. My problem is can someone just come and do all my shopping and cooking please?

Yesterday I managed apple, oj, asparagus (which was YUMMY) and... I'm sure there was a bit more... but it's crap isn't it? Just don't feel motivated. And when I do get a load of fruit in it doesn't keep for long or will be mouldy straight away and I just think sod the lot of it I'm going to eat yogurt and nuts instead! Help me...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/02/2009 11:06

Do you use fleece liners in your clothies? They always seem a lot kinder.

I doubt the chlorine/bleach/gel have caused the problem, but it may add to the irritation.

Title:

There was something in the pear that night, the starfruit were bright, Fernando.

I didn't know the artichoke one

mollyroger · 07/02/2009 11:07

Franny come back and tell me what my words of wisdom were! I really cannot justify buying the damn thing as i have no toddler nor am likely to have one...

C'MON!

AtillaTheHoney · 07/02/2009 11:07

Just a quickie , because DD is on puter really.

Can I freeze homemade rice-pudding?

I am trying to cut out wheat based products but need carb options...I want to make a huge rice pud so I can make it last for several days...

Hello to all.....will catch up on thread later but it is so lovely to see all the f&v talk and very inspiring...

hope you are all having fabulous weekends and the weather is a beautiful as it is here..

hugs and handshakes to all

xx

Tatties · 07/02/2009 11:08

Oh I love ain't nece-celery so too

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/02/2009 11:18

Yes you can freeze the rice pudding, but you may have to add a little more milk when thawed.

FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2009 11:23

oh i like something in the pear tonight
there's a few possibilities with that isn't there
celery also good
well votes please i guess
or a stonking one none of us can resist
we'll save pointy's for valentine's day

molly i can't remember but will look later
it might have been camping? one under your lunar name and one under initials of lunar name

i was forced to eat rice pudding at school and i still can't eat it now! nor anything else with warm milk in eg hot chocolate, porridge

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2009 11:25

fleece liners a good idea, thanks

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2009 11:26

or silk?

OP posts:
Tatties · 07/02/2009 11:30

I'm like that with custard Franny. I was about 5, and remember thinking, "ooh I like custard" (having had it at home) so chose it for my pudding one day at school, but it put me off for life

Tatties · 07/02/2009 11:32

I have a massive square of white fleece (left over from when I used to cut it up to make ds's nappy liners) - can send you some if you want to try Franny. Have heard silk also good

FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2009 11:36

oh yes custard also dicey
although doesn't usually taste milky so i can sometimes eat it
even cow's milk as a drink i now can't face
i always remember this when people talk about forcing their children to eat something they don't like
i was 5 when this happened and am 37 now and i still can't get past the fact i can't stand it! i bet i would have grown out of it by now otherwise

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2009 11:37

have just emailed nappy lady - think will try silk as it helps with healing

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/02/2009 11:38

anyway!
sorry attila
yes i think you can freeze it
though
