Original post by the lovely FrannyandZooey

For anyone who wants to boost their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - If you don't normally eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 mins is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restictions on what you eat as long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving your energy levels and hopefully mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you are getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Oooh, we were right. Mysterious. Now we are all going to try and guess who you were.

I have just eaten hot vanilla pears with ice-cream and I am so full I might burst. Running first thing. It's going to be COLD.

SuperBunny · 01/02/2009 19:09

how does one make hot vanilla pears?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/02/2009 19:14

I have no idea who Polly is/was so I'm not going to even try guessing. I'm such a dullard when it comes to guessing name changers it's untrue.

It's been a long day in Casa Lemur. I think I've got food poisoning, or the beginning of something viral and rank, and baby lemur was/is teething and was up quite a bit in the night. Because of the pain and also because he's not feeding much in the day - maybe because he's in pain? Any ideas on the lack of feeding/teething situation?

Well done Guad. Are you having re-fresher driving lessons?

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:14

I poach them in water with sugar and madagascan vanilla essence for 20 mins.

The recipe's often have them with ice-cream and chocolate sauce but I think that would be too rich for an ordinary sunday.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/02/2009 19:19

Guad - what type of pears do you use? Does it matter which variety?

pmsl @ too rich for an ordinary Sunday

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:19

I am, lemur. I haven't driven for four or five years and I didn't really drive much after I passed my test. Then we got a big car and and I tried it disastrously and then it became an ISSUE and I haven't got in since.

mollyroger · 01/02/2009 19:20

you you know who I am Polly?

Are you a long-time fruiter?

TooT - I like your salsify

Guad - you win my I Did Brave Driving badge for today. [awe]

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:21

Oh, I'm not sure. It was a bag of small ones. Not conference pears though. I hate those. I eel like I am eating a blackboard.

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:23

Thank you, molly. Probably sounds stupid to people who can drive, driving your own car, woo woo!

Was a big deal to me though!

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 19:24

Yeah but cars vary so much. I can't drive small ones

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:26

really, why?

littlerach · 01/02/2009 19:32

Well done, Guad.
I have hardly ever driven in snow, but it is odd.

I have had cereal for supper as I couldn't think of what else to eat. dds had party food at party.

Hope you feel better soon Lemur.

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:37

Gosh, yes, I hadn't even thought about the fact that I drove in snow. I had to drive because of it but didn't really think about the roads being slippy.

If I'd skidded I wouldn't know what to do. Turn into the skid?

Boco · 01/02/2009 19:40

Hello. Well done Guad, good driving!

.

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 19:42

oh, I started learning in an escort then switched to a renault savanna estate...then had possible clutch problems and tried out instructor's car (small thing)and we agreed i couldn't actually drive it and would def fail test in it. Luckily clutch turned out to be okay.

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:43

Aha, I've been waiting for you to come back and admire my new skill.

Today the snow, tomorrow suffolk. John will be pleased!

Did you have fun, what did you wear?

FrannyandZooey · 01/02/2009 19:44

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:44

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:47

I like lychee lad. I only said I liked toot's because she said I had to to admire my driving.

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 19:47

I couldn't comment Franny on account of you IGNORING MY SALSIFY

Guadalupe · 01/02/2009 19:48

Oh god, I don't mean I didn't like salsify, just that I wasn't meaning I didn't like lychees by only mentioning salsy.

Ahhhhhhrgh.

Sorry, toot, squashed.
