Original post by the lovely FrannyandZooey

For anyone who wants to boost their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - If you don't normally eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 mins is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restictions on what you eat as long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving your energy levels and hopefully mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you are getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Give it another week, Franny. Has it been a week? You have been doing brilliantly. IO moaned and moaned when I first felt like I was starving myself of everything I like.

I woke up realising that I ate no carbs yesterday. I imediately ate four bots of toast, two slices f jamaican ginger cake an a blueberry an raspberry bun and three actual blueberries.

Guadalupe · 31/01/2009 10:14

There are crumbs under loads of the keys on this laptop, you have to tap each one hard or it misses it.

BBBee · 31/01/2009 10:15

how elegant guad

TooTicky · 31/01/2009 10:16

I have emailed Franny. Is she still here? Her email is nice and easy to remember.

Guadalupe · 31/01/2009 10:17

What is elegant, stuffing my face or banging the keyboard?

Oh I see, you are taking the piss.

pinkspottywellies · 31/01/2009 10:22

Morning! Idris you're back! I saw you the other week on a thread and asked wherethehellyou'vebeen you to come back into our fruity folds

TooT if you have your laptop on your actual lap you have to be careful it doesn't overheat.

I packed a bag last night. But not everything I need for hospital after the birth. Crikey it's a big list! I was home the same day with dd so seems daft packing loads. Also was only in hosp for an hour so didn't even open my labour bag. Will prob pack minimally this time and end up in hosp for days!!

I've done my car tax online BBB. It's very quick. I have my tax, mot and insurance within a week which is a pain in the arse.

Boco · 31/01/2009 10:25

Good morning.
DP stole the wire for the modem last night in order to get me to spend whole evening with him without looking at the computer. I found it this morning

Off to London this afternoon without children - going to a party, and then brunch with other friends tomorrow. Is exciting.

BBBee · 31/01/2009 10:25

thanks pink - will investigate.

okay - off here and on to do all that weekendy stuff.

stay fruity.

Boco · 31/01/2009 10:25

Another friend had a baby today - Betsey

BBBee · 31/01/2009 10:26

(before you go boco tell what you are wearing)

TooTicky · 31/01/2009 10:26

fruity folds is a curious term...

overheating unlikely in this house, but thanks

Pink, you sound v organised. How are you feeling?

Guadalupe · 31/01/2009 10:31

Yes, Boco, what did you decide to wear? I want to go out.

Dh has announced he is going out again tonight. Well, last night he was doing tax return but he wasn't doing it here. I watched a mutant shark film with ds.

pinkspottywellies · 31/01/2009 10:32

I'm not bad thanks TooT. Much better than Wed/Thurs Getting organised but the poor little thing still has nowhere to sleep (well he'll be in our room and the moses basket is to hand in the loft, but his room isn't done. Oh and I need to buy a cot matress)

Fairlady, Lincol n hosp.

Boco · 31/01/2009 10:33

Bbee I'm still throwing things around the room. Maybe skinny jeans and pointy boots and silky longish top with pretty buttons. Or, black dress but it makes me feel a bit cleavagey, like I might lean in to people and do saucy puns all night. Which I should avoid.

Guadalupe · 31/01/2009 10:34

What sort of place is it, will you feel more comfy in jeans?

FrannyandZooey · 31/01/2009 10:38

fruity folds arf

guad it has been 8 days [saintly]
i am getting my head round it, i need lots of fatty salty savoury substitutes
veg sausages, hummus, mayonnaise, artichokes, eggs, tartex on toast etc all good
i bought some more boojas
i really really hope it is dairy and that it will all go
(well i REALLY hope it will just go, and that i can stuff my face with cheese again, but that would be next best)
