For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

TooTicky · 26/01/2009 18:04

worst thing is, they don't like it

Boco · 26/01/2009 18:09

Toot well done, sounds like you covered lots. V good about the lump, do you feel relieved? My sister has the cervical erosion thing, I don't think it's serious, just annoying. And well done for filling in the questionnaire too.

Hope you hear from feather and can stop worrying.

TooTicky · 26/01/2009 18:10

FEATHER if you turn up please please please text me so I know you are okay. Thank you.

TooTicky · 26/01/2009 18:10

Heloo Boco

TinyWhiteFeather · 26/01/2009 18:12

Hi, am OKish, reaction to tablets still awful, but up and about. Have hit a bit of a low.
Sorry Toot, don't mean to worry you.
Can't always text.

Feeling sorry for myself and wobbly and insecure and want to go back to bed but can't. Will try and get an early night.
Hopefully feel better tomorrow.

pointydog · 26/01/2009 18:12

Big hugs Feather - hope you are ok.

Tomatoey sauce
juice

Boco · 26/01/2009 18:23

Hope you're ok feather. Have you spoken to the GP about drug reaction? Has happened to dp before, his face swelled up and he went yellow and couldn't get up. It's important that you call them if you're worried. Look after yourself. I'm not north of England btw, only north of Suffolk.

moveit yes, near that place, just oova the border.

pinkspottywellies · 26/01/2009 18:45

Hello all. I guess it went ok Boco - you are posting sensibly and not rocking and weeping in a corner

Glad you got checked out TooT and hope it all gets sorted soon. TWF like Boco says call them if it's not right.

Right - we're getting a takeaway and I suppose I ought to speak to my husband for once Cheerio!

FairLadyRantALot · 26/01/2009 18:45

Good evening all!
To many messages to read them all, sorry!
I know some of you had Appointments today, so, hope those went well.
(((((Tiny))))

Had a busy day at placement today, but still loving it.
As for f&v I have had:
Banana(1 port.)
Apple (1 port.)
Cherries (1 port.)
Mangoslices (1 port.)
Satsumas (1 port.)
mixed stirfry vegetable (2 port.)

so 7 so far

So, what gossip have I been missing?

pinkspottywellies · 26/01/2009 18:46

Oh Lully, what about things with pastry? Plenty of cals although not nec terribly healthy every day!

Guadalupe · 26/01/2009 18:54

Yes, of course. A sausage roll would be perfect!

It's strange this texting posting thing isn't it? Toot is calling feather from the west to the peaks with no luck yet you can catch up here in the same room.

SuperBunny · 26/01/2009 18:54

Oh yes, Lully:

Quiche
Tortilla/ fritata type thing
Pizza
Wraps
couscous/ quinoa/ pasta salad

Would he drink soup?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 26/01/2009 19:06

You must be nearby Boco. I am trying to think of a bodily function that rhymes with the town I am thinking of, but I'm failing!! lol at oova! Are you Suffolk born and bred, or did you move to the area?

Hope you feel better TWF, if the side affects are too extreme you should speak to your GP.

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2009 19:09

lully if he dips the veg in hummus that is quite concentrated calories, protein and so on
not sure if hummus will be allowed? (allergies)
tbh if it were me i would ditch the veg - i know it's important he has them, but they do take ages to eat and he can have them at home
i would do yogurt as easy to eat, and maybe some cheese if he likes it
i know that is quite dairy heavy but it is filling
you could give him outrageously healthy stuff the rest of the day
oh how about a smoothie? easy to drink, usually popular

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2009 19:09

toot well done mate
glad all reasonably ok

SuperBunny · 26/01/2009 19:09

Lemur, several veggers are in that general area. I grew up in Herts but always got Anglia news

Boco · 26/01/2009 19:11

It rhymes with....um....thigh. Which isn't a bodily function, but a body part, and the village is a body part too. I lived in Suffolk when I was a teenager - but moved to London for ten years, and then came back. What about you? Did you see that youtube east anglia song. It's making me laugh - the 'wass goon on Kanye?' bit.

The baby boy was a delight and I was VERY good at looking after him. [proud] He didn't cry or poo. He was cuddly and giggly and CUTE. I like boys.

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2009 19:12

i have made an enormous vat of delicious creamy korma
i can't stop eating it
