There's nothing swede about me - 10/10

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

LOL at ds Franny

TooT - what Franny said - you are fab

and Avi - lol at fondling. Our postman is very nice actually. But unfortunately he never turned up today (waiting for something from a relative which should have been here by now) so after staying in most of the day we went out and came back with a few yarn bargains

Ds is not averse to a bit of kiwi skin. I eat them like Guad

OsmosisBanana · 27/01/2009 21:20

I have followed your lead SB and have just easten 3 in an obscene amount of time. I have 2 left, they are not long for this world. Then I shall start on the melon.

Revision has given me a horrendous sweet tooth.

There is a good programme about pig welfar on tv this week. I may well be the only person on MN excited by this but DAMMIT I am.

TooT - Dr?

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2009 21:20

drool

littlerach · 27/01/2009 21:20

FairLady, i thiught it was great.

But then aagain, I laso eat kiwi skins

I just chop the two ends off, slice em up and scoff. None of this peeling malarky.
They are nicest with strawberries and bananas, also choppped up, in a bowl.

Anyway, am off to bed as dh away so I have hot water bottle and The Longest Book in the World. Which i ma determined to finish but it is also hard back and soooo heavy. impossible ot read in the bath. I ma half way through (350 pages).

Good night all.

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 21:24

lol rach, you shall be forgiven for eating Kiwis with skins then

Franny...oh, that looks veryyyyyyy niiiiiiiiiiceeeeeeeee! Drool....although better not start drooling, considering I am snotting all over the place...it just isn't a good look

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 21:29

They're fancy chocolates, Fairlady

Boco · 27/01/2009 21:33

Well no, cutting in half first I suppose is ok. This was more taking the very lid off, and then spooning like an egg. It was so precise, everything she did, it made me want to mash it into the desk with the bin.

This is why I've not gone back to work isn't it.

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 21:39

lol Boco...

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 21:43

Oh Boco, you have ishoos

FrayedKnot · 27/01/2009 21:55

There is a lot of swede about me

I used up one in the curry tonight (bulk cooking - 2 portions for freezer) and now I've discovered ANOTHER ONE

And kale. If you'd rather talk about something else, franny, talk t me about kale.

It always looks more suitable for making a wig out of, than being edible.

BBBee · 27/01/2009 22:01

boco i don;t think it was the kiwi thing as such, probably the working with her day in day out ness of it all. Actually i get very irritated sharing meals with people i haven't chosen - esp. work and there is nothing more irritating than people's eating habits.

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 22:02

I love Kale. And green leafy thing in general. I just cook it like collard greens - sautee a bit on onion then wilt in a bit of stock.

or use in place of spinach

Why are you breeding swedes, FK?

TinyWhiteFeather · 27/01/2009 22:03

I have Kiwis, and have put my clothes back on

Eat all the kiwis SB. I mixed mine with a lush mango and a small portion of ice-cream and it was heavn in a bowl.

I have to ask...who is Nigel Marvin.....duh

My DS used to eat boiled eggs with their shells on...ew.
