For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Aw, your girls are lovely Boco.

How many kiwis are too many? I have eaten 4 and have 4 left, peeled and ready to be eaten. Would it be a really bad idea to eat them all?

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 20:32

hmm...would depend if you react to Kiwis or not, if you eat to many....I can eat loads in a day without any adverse effects....

pinkspottywellies · 27/01/2009 20:32

Oh my god SB I don't think I'd want 8 in a day

ahundredtimes · 27/01/2009 20:34

I bought a bag of lychees today. I thought about how much my dc like them. How nice we'll have lychees - apples are a bit dull. I ate every single one within half an hour. All gone. I was like a mad selfish lychee eater with no regard for her children or their desire and like of lychees. The table was covered in lychee shells, I had to put the newspaper on top of this pile when dc came in.

List:
rocket
banana
45 lychees

If you say lychees a lot it makes you feel very silly. Writing lychees a lot is the same.

ahundredtimes · 27/01/2009 20:36

I can never get Kiwis right. They are always to bitter, I don't know what a ripe kiwi tastes like. I might eat more than four in search of a ripe one?

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 20:37

lol @ eating all the lychees and hiding the evidence. I'd never do something like that. No, never.

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2009 20:37

i am extremely indifferent with regard to kiwis

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 20:38

My kiwis are 5 of $1 so we eat them, whether we like it or not! I had just forgotten about all of these and decided that unless I beeled them all, they would just fester in the back of the fridge for several weeks until they were ready for the compost pile.

ahundredtimes · 27/01/2009 20:41

By lychee number 39 I had perfected a lychee eating technique. It was quite an eyebally technique though.

hey Fra, it could be my version of the Bulk Cooking Document.

We are not all naked, Polly, only the naturists in that corner.

Echinacea, banana, and strawberry smoothie
feta and lentil salad with leaves (2 portions)
dates
purple sprouting broccoli
courgetts
spring onions
cherries
Pink Lady x3
banana

12

I walked a very long way and looked at a lot of things so I have a lot of eye exercise.

Guadalupe · 27/01/2009 20:44

I love lychees but dd will eat them all if she can.

Kiwis can be mean but then they can be big and golden and unctious and I can eat four in a row.

Ob -- what bad luck you have with the police!

TooTicky · 27/01/2009 20:44

100x, let my dd1 educate you about kiwis. She is hardcore, she eats the skins.

TooTicky · 27/01/2009 20:44

Also there are good and bad times of year for kiwis.

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 20:45

V good guad!

Guadalupe · 27/01/2009 20:46

Urrgh, that would be like eating a mouthful of hair shirt.

TooTicky · 27/01/2009 20:46

I'm not naked either.

SuperBunny · 27/01/2009 20:46

Oh no, kiwi skins are like doormats. My dad eats them too. I think your DD1 and my dad would get on well actually Toot. He's a batty person.
