For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

SuperBunny · 22/01/2009 21:19

FK, what did he say when he gave it to you? Was it a he?

Guadalupe · 22/01/2009 21:19

Lol, Bee.

Mou - have sparkling water with juice. That's nearly as good as a drink. Have ice and a sprig of lime. That always cheers me up. Fiz, ice lime.

Do you think Boco misread it and it said parmesan shavings not potato? I do.

TinyWhiteFeather · 22/01/2009 21:23

Purrs at stroking, settles quietly to 'listen' to thread.....

ahundredtimes · 22/01/2009 21:24

Oh yes Avi! The first and probably the best actually. Otherwise it'll be like that time when thingy proposed to Fanny in Mansfield Park and he thinks she's just overwhelmed but she's trying to say no.

Very true.

I think we might need to see the poem though FK.

It's pathetic isn't it Avi? You are usually much more resolute I think. When is meet?

Guadalupe · 22/01/2009 21:36

Have we got a meet?

Dispatches has spent 30 mins investigating how there is less protein in the economy ranges. No way.

No, it really was potato! It even said in the book 'don't be alarmed by the potato, it may seem odd, but the Italians do it aaaalll the time!' bloody lying jamie bloody oliver. There was ALSO parmesan involved, grated not shaved. It just made glutinous green slime, the girls wailed. Dp said 'this is NOT good'. grrrrr.

Guadalupe · 22/01/2009 21:43

Ha ha at not good. It sounds utterly revolting. Is there any other potato pasta combination?

TinyWhiteFeather · 22/01/2009 21:46

Trying to look wistful but quietly chuckling at Boco's meal indignation..

TinyWhiteFeather · 22/01/2009 21:46

I am not telling tales but I have been served pasta with gravy..

ahundredtimes · 22/01/2009 21:48

Did you have to cook the potato before you shaved it? It sounds horrid.

Guadalupe · 22/01/2009 21:49

lolol, now they are on to apple pies. There is one with 10% apple and they called it an appleish pie.

ahundredtimes · 22/01/2009 21:52

lol @ appleish. lolol.

That's marvellous. I'm going to clean kitchen now. Do you remember ages ago we had that mouse? It's still here. Don't tell me there's more than one, or it's bred, it hasn't it's the same one. The same one that dh caught in a bucket and put outside in the garden The same one that prodded once with a tennis raquet and it giggled. JJ utterly useless about it. We all are actually. It waves now and comes down for breakfast in the morning with a briefcase, has a job, and watches telly with us and stuff.

Night

SuperBunny · 22/01/2009 22:04

Hope tomorrow goes okay Feather (((hug))))

where's toot?

Boco · 22/01/2009 22:13

Well someone tell me what they think about this. You wash and peel the potato, then cut into thin shavings with the peeler. And there's stuff to do with broccoli etc. And you cook the pasta and throw in the potato 2 mins before the pasta is finished. Well that means it's not cooked, it's raw shavings, but then when you realise this you can either have
a. al dente pasta and raw potato and raw broccoli florets
b. over cooked mushy pasta with cooked potato and cooked broccoli florets.
c. you try and separate tagliatelli and potato shavings somehow, which is impossible.

That can't be right can it? 2 minutes?

I went with b, I should have gone with a. Well no, I should have gone with d. and thrown it in the bin and made something else.

I hope you're all following this! It has vegetables in it you know.

Guadalupe · 22/01/2009 22:14

It can't still be alive, dab some nail polish on it and see if it's the same offender?

I am going to bed too. Friend's dh is leaving early for London so we have to get up at sixam to run.

Night.
