For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yup, bony bony bones. Calcium, so they say.

Very nice coated in a nice spring water and seasoned flour batter and fried. I prefer them to be smaller really, whitebait are nicer but the fish man didn't have any.

FrannyandZooey · 16/01/2009 19:15

haddock or cod or sprats or hake, filleted dover sole ....................

I sang that song in a school play once, with a terrible cockney accent.

Sorry, it was talk of sprats that reminded me.

banana
grapes
cauliflower
houmos (I think I spell it differently each time)
apple
mushy peas

Oh dear, have been a bit shite today. Must do better.

I did go out for a lovely walk pushing the biffa ds along at a good pace though.

TooTicky · 16/01/2009 19:32

Oh, I have done lots of walking carrying and pushing heavy children culminating in nearly 2 hours with a 3yo on my back and pushing a buggy with a toddler and a 7yo.
Is that my exercise sorted?
Have walked 4 or 5 miles altogether.
6ish yesterday.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/01/2009 19:35

Bloody Hell Toot, I should think that is your exercise sorted.

I'll shut up about pushing 18wo ds along in a pushchair

FrannyandZooey · 16/01/2009 19:38

1 hour at gym

melon
apple
2 kiwis

the kind of springy mouth filling texture is so satisfying
they are a bit nauseating in any quantity, though

TooTicky · 16/01/2009 19:38

FrannyandZooey · 16/01/2009 19:39
