Since this year started I have been dieting really half-heartedly. I desperately want to lose the stone that I put on while I was down with my PND. No more excuses I am definately going to start tomorrow. I am sure I could lose the weight easily if I just cut out the things that I pick on between meals. I will have a proper breakfast rather than a handful of biscuits and will not pick on leftovers from DS dinner/lunch. Anyone else fed up of not trying hard enough on their diets and care to join me.

WideWebWitch · 09/04/2003 20:35

ooh, well done everyone. Now I'm pregnant and not supposed to diet I really want to...

willow2 · 09/04/2003 21:47

went to WW for first time in 2 weeks and had lost 3 1/2 lbs so pretty pleased. Just got to keep it up and stop eating crap. Less than two months to go before we go away and am desperate to shift at least 1 1/2 stone.

woozle · 09/04/2003 22:13

Hi to all the new people on this thread- good luck all.
Wednesday is my weigh in at Boots - 2lb lost this week.
Will power wasn't as good this week so I'm pleased with that.

I need to lose about 5 stone 6 lb to hit target weight but I'm going in the right direction

breeze · 10/04/2003 17:09

Woozle, well done, this week has gone bad, stuck to it half the time. I will try harder tomorrow

Morning. Well I have been really good this week - but don't feel like I've lsot anything!! Time will tell. I'll weigh in on Monday and let you all know the results. Have a great weekend .... and be good!!! )

Soxwasher · 11/04/2003 09:09

First week weigh in - lost 1 pound - bit disappointed but determined to loose more this week!

Chinchilla · 11/04/2003 21:55

Sox - Some people find that they don't lose much the first week, but then it makes up for it the next week. You'll probably lose three next week. Anyway, I know that it doesn't help much, but it is better to lose slowly but surely than to lose loads at first and then give up. It is not good for your body to lose more than 2 lbs a week (other than first week loss, which is mainly water anyway) as you lose muscle not fat. Could you be retaining water because of 'that time of the month'? If so, it will all come off next week. Good luck, and don't give up!

Mocha · 11/04/2003 23:30

First weigh-in - lost 1.5 lbs

Not a good first week : only lost one pound, so down to 11st 5lb. This despite being really good all week and only having two glasses of wine over the weekend (and NONE during the week, even though dh opened a bottle on Friday night - I virtuously abstained).

I thought I was off to a good start - lost 2 lb in the first two days and then, for no apparent reason (expect it was my period) put ON THREE pounds .... which then stayed there until yesterday, when I was back to 11st 6lb and, and thankfully this morning I was down to 11st 5lb, so at least I've been able to report a drop.

Never mind. Hopefully this week will be better!

mears · 14/04/2003 09:51

Thought I'd let you know how my weight loss 1s going. I joined WW in November and have lost 13 lbs in total. I have been stuck roughly at the same weight for the past 6 weeks - on a pound, off a pound, stayed the same.
The reason for that is I have not been sticking to the plan then resolving to stick to it after each weigh-in. Anyway, last week (Wed) I told the class I was not coming back because I was cheating all the time and wasn't achieving anything. Everyone encouraged me to refocus and write down all my points per day. I had stopped doing that, trying to keep a running total in my head. That means you can eat anything you like as long as you do not exceed your total points for the week.
Anyway, I am all geared up again because I have lost 3 lbs this week so far ( ofcourse I should not be jumping on the scales between weigh-in's but I had to know ).

There is no doubt about it - if you stick to a plan it will work. Only another stone and a half to go.

Angiel · 14/04/2003 10:39

My weight seems to be dropping off me at the moment and I don't seem to be sticking to any sort of diet. I'm eating what I want but not as much as normal. I am assuming it is the prozac I have just started taking, so I'm cheating really. I've lost nearly a stone now in about a month so I'm feeling quite good.

Keep at it everybody.

hello, I 've been reading all your posts with much interest as I too need to lose quite a lot of weight - 2.5 stone. I have a target in mind, my sister's wedding in July - obviously not going to lose that much but don't want to look lardy on the video.
I have never successfully been on a diet. I am terrified of becoming obsessed and boring. How do you stop yourselves thinking about it all the time? Is everyone doing lots of exercise as well?
Yours sincerely
a lardy diet virgin

lardy I can't advise about not becoming obsessed as for me that is the only way I can really focus and shift the weight - justover 2 stone with WW .
Well done Mears. I know what you mean - it really works but only if you follow it! I have been stuck for a few months but am now trying to lose another half stone in time for a wedding at the end of May. This past week is the first in months I have stuck rigidly to the plan and tonight is weigh in night so we'll see if all that resisting has paid off

Ok - weekly weigh in. Just 1lb off this week. I'm a bit gutted, I was very good this week. Still one pound is better than nothing

Lost another 3 this week! So, six in total...

mum2toby · 16/04/2003 07:52

Well done everyone - I've been watching this thread with envy.

With my wedding in 6 months I'd really like to be a size 12 bride instead of size 15!!

My first Scottish Slimmers class is tonight so I will DEFINITELY publish my weight tomorrow and take a much more active role.

IDismyname · 16/04/2003 17:14

I put on a pound last week at WW, so have kept rather quiet on this thread...
This week, despite thinking I'd put on more, or at best stayed the same, my leader announced that I'd lost 2 lbs. I fell off the scales in amazement.
It's Easter, I'm constantly in the kitchen, my dog walks amount to a 20 minute dawdle with ds instead of 40 mins fast walking, and I can only say it's a miracle.
So... keep at it all of you! The weight seems to drop off sometimes despite the lapses.
23 and a half pounds down, and 2 and a half to goal.
I have been at WW since last July, so it's been a long slog.

PS Beware those Cadburys Creme Eggs - THREE and a HALF points
