For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh, resolutions.

Continue with my painting plans..exhibiting etc.
Play saxophone once a week at least.
Give up spending and kick a big hole in our debts.
This is a lifetime resolution....I want to approach everything with the aptitude of a 'rennaiscance woman' and do things by the highest possible standards. And continue to be inspired by life.

TinyWhiteFeather · 01/01/2009 17:55

No, I am sort of about....was going to stalk you too Toot.

TinyWhiteFeather · 01/01/2009 17:58

When anybody else is on the 'puter. I leave them alone, but the minute I sit down everybody wants my attention and as a result I don't get to natter. (sulk). But will be dipping tonight if I get the opportunity.

TooTickyDoves · 01/01/2009 18:10

Now, Iliketomoveit, I'll have you know that bat shit is actually quite fascinating stuff. You can identify species purely by inspecting the poo. And it doesn't smell or carry germs. Why are you called Lemur?

No cheese guad? I imagine that might be quite hard for you - you always eat cheese.

Raisins, sultanas, cranberries with oats and rye flakes for brakfast (3)
juice
banana

so FIVE and not even lunchtime. However, I am alone for 3 days so will not be eating proper meals.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/01/2009 18:24

Well bugger me, it turns out bat shit really is more interesting than my IL's .

As per usual FIL was a complete knob and bored the arse off me.

WRT to Lemur, have you not seen Madagascar SB?

Will report my f&v intake after I've decided what to have for dinner.

SuperBunny · 01/01/2009 18:27

Oh, your inlaws sound hard work, iliketomoveit. I think I need to watch Madagascar again.

I need to do cleaning and laundry and paint my toe nails but have no motivation.

Yeah....in-laws....don't go there. Less said the better. I am not 'darling' at the moment though. .

Going toot hunting......

pinkspottywellies · 01/01/2009 19:04

Lovely lunch at friend's but probably only about 1 portion, plus raisins in my porridge this morning and I don't think I want any dinner. I just want to go to bed - and for my head to stop hurting

I don't really do NY resolutions. I'm about to continue my huge clear out though. Already taken 2 car loads to the charity shop and have organised DH and DD to go out on Sun and for my friend to come and help me clear out the spare baby's room. Hopefully this will be the start of a new tidiness (cause we'll have no junk room any more!) and we're also getting some decorating done - fresh coat of paint to make it all feel nice and new.

I'm having a baby in about 7 weeks Then I can start running again

SuperBunny · 01/01/2009 19:08

7 weeks, Pink

I had plans to make lots of soup and daal and stuff today but I have no onions so can't make anything

pinkspottywellies · 01/01/2009 19:09

I haven't seen Madagascar. Was feeling a bit dumb til you explained

TinyWhiteFeather · 01/01/2009 19:11

Pink!!!! wow, how are you? haven't caught up with you for ages either.

Sorry your head is hurting. Are you drinking enough water? Or tried massaging lavendar oil into your temples (or is it you that doesn't like it).

Will you be on the running thread? it is brilliant and fab.

Take special care of yourself...tender {{hugs}}.

pinkspottywellies · 01/01/2009 19:12

I know! I said to DH this morning 'right we're having a baby this year. In about 7 weeks'. He went very pale!! To be fair I think it'll be more like 8 or 9!! But I ought to have my hospital bag packed this month

Lullabyloo · 01/01/2009 19:12

pinkspottywellies · 01/01/2009 19:20

Thanks mou. I'm just all blocked up and it feels like I've been punched in the face. Also really tired so on the verge of tears most of the time!!

I was on the first couch to 5k thread in January when it started. I found it really helpful. Will maybe go on there if I have time but probably just stick with this thread.
