For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

You have quite a big list there, stuffit. Good luck with the decs

stuffitllama · 02/01/2009 02:20

I know but I have resolved not to get caught up with other things and focus
I wasted a lot of time being miserable and now I have to put my shoulder to the wheel

TinyWhiteFeather · 02/01/2009 07:23

Sorry you have been miserable stuffit. Hope the New Year is more joyful for you.
I am taking our fecking decorations down today. Normality returns yeyyyyyy!!!!!

Come on SB, get out for that run, you know you want to really.

Our central heating is completely dead and I have woken up in the body of a 90 yr old woman. Bum. Might go and ask Pharmacist if she will loan me meds for weekend.

Errr, starting with juice and manky pears x2. and NUTS.

Going to find something warm to do. (get back in bed lolol).

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/01/2009 08:24

In awe of SB's achievements.

TinyWhiteFeather · 02/01/2009 08:45

Anyone on Ravellry...what is an 'ISP' address please, as registration is being blocked without one?

mangolassi · 02/01/2009 08:56

Happy New Year all of you, am going to resolutely ignore all the blowbacks and willow stripping, bit too odd for me.

NY resolutions: f+v, exercise - general and special boring ones for my crap leg, meditation, be generally less crap with dd/ housework/ etc. Nice and specific, that last one.

Managed 9 portions yesterday and have to tell you all about it even though it was yesterday.

Today:
apples (2)
coconut
grapes

Ok for breakfast.

BBBee · 02/01/2009 09:30

oh - can you elaborate on the coconut? that sounds nice.

ok - i am all resolved now (i didn;t start yesterday as there was a new year lunch to have)

mangolassi · 02/01/2009 09:56

Umm, just coconut. A whole one. People buy them here for the juice (drank it yesterday) but there's some flesh too. Scrape it out with a spoon, put in mouth.

womblingalong · 02/01/2009 10:05

Just a short flying visit to blow new year kisses to you all, I'll be back later to chat!

TigerFeet · 02/01/2009 10:31

Morning lovely ones, and a very happy new year to all of you. Lovely to see newbies and oldies alike .

I'm sorry I logged off so early on NYE, I love a piss up in a village hall

I'm not coming online much atm. Everthing is too odd and I need to concentrate on RL. I will be around, lurking and popping in. You are all too lovely to keep away from [smarm]

I will be quietly bootcamping though

  • Less diet coke beverages containing caffeine and/or nastypartame
  • Aim for 10 f&v more consistently
  • Walk at lunchtimes instead of sitting on arse
  • No drinking at home unless sharing bottle with dh (rare). I usually have a bottle or two across the course of a week, to myself, as dh not a big drinker.
  • erm, probably other stuff too [vague]

mwah mwah

FrannyandZooey · 02/01/2009 10:42

oh wombling i was missing you

TinyWhiteFeather · 02/01/2009 10:54

Mmmm the manky looking pears were gorgeous. Might just eat those all day.

Hope you are feeling improved TF.

Does anybody want a High School Musical Karaoking, Giggling 6yr old for the day?

TinyWhiteFeather · 02/01/2009 11:22

Huh, so I finally get the computer to myself and there is no-one around.....or are you all avoiding me (checks armpits).....

Right that's it, I am going to swig Diet Coke in everybodies abscence, and daydream to my little hearts content....blows raspberry at absent fruity bitches. And puts whoopee cushions on all the seats. Runs off giggling.

littlerach · 02/01/2009 12:19

Hi Feather.
How you doing?

WE've been to the library and greengrocers and it is so cold. Poor dh works from home, in a loft room, and he is wearign his hat

I have a 7 year old HSM addict. She wants ot be a "catwalker" when she is a grown up

OsmosisFaLaLaLaLa · 02/01/2009 12:24

we've been burgled. £8k gone. Guess I won't have a kitchen anytime soon. Gonne have to disappear / get a job for a while to help DH deal with this. Happy fucking new year.
