For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Good morning veggers!

Right - I am having a bootcamp.

No wheat.

Minimal dairy (I can't go back to rice milk in tea but will attempt not to eat the butter thicker than the biscuit and NO cheese).

Minimal sugar.

No alcohol.

Egg and salmon for breakfast. No bagel sadly. Well, I have yet to resist it but feel I must to start fresh from this morning.

Join gym tomorrow.

Go to bed by 11pm some nights.

Less time on here.

There, that's not much to ask is it?

TooTickyDoves · 01/01/2009 09:53

Aww, I love you all!!!!!
You made me laugh with your late night shenanigans

That's all fine except for the "less time on here" bit. Very unhealthy.

Happy New Year ladies.

The whole posting about your daily fruit and veg consumption seems to have bypassed me. I just thought people were posting random f&v lists. Does anybody have a 'slow to catch on' emoticon for me?!

We're off to the in-laws today, so I'll be stuffing myself with veg to up my consumption. Then we'll take ds and the in-laws dogs for a walk. Partly to walk off the huge dinner, and partly to escape DH's odd uncle. He is lovely bless him, but very odd, random and worst of all, as boring as bat shit.

I've noticed lots of people on here eat mangoes. Do you eat them on their own? I find them a bit earthy.

TooTickyDoves · 01/01/2009 10:16

You're not the only one not to catch on straight away. How can I abbreviate you? MoveIt? Or ILTMIMI? Or Lemur? [hopeful]

Good luck with the mad uncle.

TooTickyDoves · 01/01/2009 10:17

Oh, you must join us for a mango seminar. There is much to learn and discuss.

Happy New Year veggers.

There were lots of fireworks down the road last night, and the poor cat was terrified

Taking down the tree today. The sitting room will look huge.
