For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

My, you've been a busy bunch today.

LOL @ so many 10/10ers being veggie Smiths lovers. I had cheesecloth shirts. And floaty skirts with bells on. And mirrors. And decorated DMs. And too much tie dye. But I listened to the Levellers and not much else. I still burn too much incense.

Mou, day out sounds lovely.

I hate being weed on.

Carbfest.

Snow.

It is Toot!

I used to shave it off completely!

And no I don't really eat when I am manic, it just doesn't occur to me.

Hello SB, how are you?

SuperBunny · 05/12/2008 02:06

I'm ok. Cold and tired. My sister just left so I am missing her.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 05/12/2008 02:10

I am sorry SB, it must be strange after company has gone.

I know cold and tired though.

I am however, on top of my christmas projects, and quite pleased with myself.

Have seen the first draught of my website and am over the moon, it is like standing on the edge of a dream with the hope that it could start to come true. Absolutely terrified half of the time and as excited as a child the rest.

SuperBunny · 05/12/2008 02:12

Sounds very exciting, smiles.

I've never been brave enough to have very short hair. I like having something to hide behind keep me warm.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 05/12/2008 02:16

Do you know where you arespending christmas SB.

We are still having the great debate with the bloody in-laws. I think I will just go for a run.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 05/12/2008 02:22

I suppose I should go back to bed, sorry for deserting you SB.

Goodnight, and to Toot if you are still around.

SuperBunny · 05/12/2008 02:22

Just me and DS for xmas. It doesn't really mean much to me so we won't do anything special. Maybe spend the morning at the zoo. I miss all the festivities but don't miss sorting out who we'll see and when.

SuperBunny · 05/12/2008 02:26

Franny - go RED!
That may be the last thing I am allowed to say because try as I might I never liked the Smiths (and I did try very hard)

Can I just stay in the pit or shall I be cast from the yurt forever?

Avi - tough call on plot - will the extra just rise and rise? 7.5K now, 10K tomorrow? on the other hand, if it is the plot of your dreams will another 7.5K really matter in long run assuming the money is all borrowed anyway. Difficult also without knowing overall cost - is this 50% rise or 5% sort of thing?

I guess you need an ultimate walk away point?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 05/12/2008 14:17

OK, so that is christmas all wrapped up!!!!!.....bum-bum.

The chocolate and raspberry cheesescake AND traditional apple pie were divine and I thought of you all with every mouthful.

Franny, Go red and I want to see pics as well.

Nope, didn't get the smiths either....hides behind Poinsettia. miserable wnakers lot IMO.

I agree with everything Poinsettia says to Avi on property, (strokes chin knowledgably as clouds drift across my eyes.)

Franny, sympathy on friends, I think it is natural to empathise, and feel some of their pain. {{mini hug}}.

I don't dislike the smiths I'd just not really heard of them as a teenager, though I would recognise the songs. I didn't get the veg thread title until someone linked to youtube. I listened to punk rock and the levellers and chilli peppers and indie mainly.

Our mortage has just been agreed but they won't fax it to the estate agent so we can't get it off the market before the weekend. Still, trying to see the bright side at the same time as trying to understand all the weird little clauses in the contract.

No food as yet but I did have a hot chocolate in town.

filthymindedvixen · 05/12/2008 14:39

SB I still listen to the Levellers too much...

Ok, more ds school crises. Anyone want to email me (so I don't clog up this thread with my woes) on how to find out what has happened to my 8-year-old to make him now refuse to do any school work, eat lunch with other children or go into the playground. yes, he HAS been bullied, but this is being dealt with. Where do we go from here to boost a previously smiley joeky little boy who has entered a spiral of depression?
I amproviding lots of 1:1 and opportunities for him to talk so mummy can listen

filthymindedvixen · 05/12/2008 14:40

Franny, I WAS RED FOR MORE THAN A DECADE. I LOVED IT.
OH, sorry for shouting! I think red is fab this time of year.

poinsettia99divine · 05/12/2008 14:45

FMV what is your email, of courseI will email and try to help at least to listen (((hugs))

Avi - for 1.25% I would increase the offer

Guad - the little clauses are all along the lines "you don't pay, we take the house"

swede, carrot, mushroom, celery, parsnip in soup

pear not in soup

SmilesLikeNoOther · 05/12/2008 14:50

I would love to e-mail you fmv, I can't give you answers but can relate our situation to see if there are parallels.
I was going to do a thread but sometimes people are not as sympathetic as I need ( I am sure their intentions are good), and some of the advice has sort of missed the point....Big big {{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

PrancerDancerCupidFMVixen · 05/12/2008 14:52

ah, yu don't recieve CATS smiles...and my email is my name IFSWIM so i don't like to put it on here. Do you have email addy for any other MNetters? Most of them have my email by now

PrancerDancerCupidFMVixen · 05/12/2008 14:53

SuperBunny · 05/12/2008 14:54

Oh FMF

If I can help from a teachery/ SN perspective, I'd be happy to. I have taught children with social, emotional & behavioural issues. FWIW, I think you are doing the right thing.
