For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Toot - does that mean if you drink enough coffee you fall asleep?

I did overdose on lavender once and went whooshing off around purple fields in my head, though to be fair I was a bit delirious after a few days of hardly any sleep.

We got our tree today. It's too big. We drove thirty miles to an estate, paid a silly price though it was fun that big dogs take them bacl to the car on a sleigh, and now it's home it is too tall and wide. I have chopped the top off but the sides are still too wide for the space. It looks daft. I am cross with myself.

Guadalupe · 13/12/2008 17:44

It is also extremely wet. I started to dry it with the hairdryer but dh put his foot down. He doesn't do that often.

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2008 17:53

"big dogs take them bacl to the car on a sleigh"

noooo
that's fab
we never have a real tree

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 13/12/2008 17:55

Don't bother. They're too big and it stinks and it's wet like a big old dog.

The dogs are huge, those massive shaggy black wolf-like ones, what are they called? They work on the lifeboats most of the year. It's the RNLI doing it, you give a donation. The woman in front of us dropped her tree on the dog's head.

Guadalupe · 13/12/2008 17:56

and there were elves making everyone do sill naming dances round their tree but that was just annoying.

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2008 17:57

well it sounds v cool

ds1 just said "i like the naff kind of food better mummy"

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2008 17:59

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 13/12/2008 18:07

Is he homophobic? I am surprised. I need plastic cheese, and fake bread. Maybe some bright lights and a formica chair and some no nonsense banter. Hey, lets go to Subway.

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2008 18:15

ruddy hell i hope not
but he made a stupid joke to Alex from work last night

i can't possibly go in subway, it smells really funny even just when you walk past

i sometimes want to eat naff food but it is so rare it is NICE that's the problem
eg sliced white bread always a big disappointment
hula hoops usually v good though
and frozen potato products

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 13/12/2008 18:27

TooTicky · 13/12/2008 18:32

Frozen potato products, yes. In a pitta bread with hummous and cucumber.

Guad, coffee is actually a sedative and only keeps you awake because your body fights it.

Franny, if you take a homeopathic remedy repeatedly it will "prove itself" which means it will cause the problem you are trying to cure. Which it will already have done. Because the right remedy is the one which, in a healthy person, would cause the symptoms you have. Now do you see?

Ds2 uncovered and opened his eye for a bit

Somebody very kind has secret santa-ed me and I am now the proud owner of £50 Ethical Superstore vouchers and some utterly gorgeous cards
