For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrayedKnot · 12/12/2008 20:30

I snuck (is that a real word?) my avocado to work so I could have all of it

[guilt]

Leave it 'til you get back, Pink.

I am fancying some blueberries but they are frozen.. How long to defrost d;ya reckon?

FrayedKnot · 12/12/2008 20:31

Or maybe not

When is your due date?

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 20:34

I guess I'm thinking if she picks it up quickly then it's out of the way before Christmas and baby!

SuperBunny · 12/12/2008 20:40

Glad DP is back safe and sound and with only minimal embarassment, Franny.

I didn't see last week's talk round-up.

I say try the potty training, Pink and if it doesn't work, try again another time. But my DS trained himself so I don't really know.

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 20:42

End of Feb.

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 20:43

I don't want to be faffing about though - starting then giving up and having days in nappies etc

pinkspottywellies · 12/12/2008 21:34

Where is everyone?

I'm all by myself DH is out, I want to talk to my sister but she's away and my mum's just told me to hurry up on the phone cause she's watching some bloody Wexford that they've recorded and now no-one's on here either!!!

BBBee · 12/12/2008 22:08

hello

i am blasting in from the hell of real life to catch up with my favourite fruities!!

what news my loves - what news???

FrayedKnot · 12/12/2008 22:17

I'm back!

i had a bath and felt all lovely and sleepy, now it's worn off and i'm wide awake

DH still out

He has been out since 5...

FrayedKnot · 12/12/2008 22:19

But I am actually off again because I must have an early night

Hi BBBee!

SuperBunny · 12/12/2008 23:37

Hello Bee!

3 bananas, veg chili & grapes so about 7 portions I think, although not very balanced. Will eat an apple or something later.

DS rode home on my shoulders but I forgot he had a cookie in his hand and he kept dropping bits on me all the way back. So, now I have to go to work with shortbread crumbs stuck in my hair. It doesn't matter how much I brush it, there is always some left. At least initially, it looked like biscuit crumbs. Now it just looks white and flaky and yuck

SuperBunny · 13/12/2008 03:44

Alright, bitches. What do you want for christmas? I mean what you you actually really like? I'd really like more money and less stress but since that is unlikely, I need concrete suggestions for people who keep asking me. It was much easier when I was a teen and Body Shop smellies were always appreciated.

SuperBunny · 13/12/2008 04:25

Oh, I ran! hooray.

New thread, oh clever ones?

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 13/12/2008 11:02

Ding Dong Brocolli on High?

I saw three Pips - was a good suggestion

I loved last year's festive one, could we not recycle? It was something about a parsnip in a pear tree...

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2008 12:39

yes five cunting mangoes and all that

morning chaps
morning bee!
pink i don't be;ieve in getting them to do something early so they'll bve ready for something else

I saw 3 pips.
Def.

WE ahve just watched the Snowman, and have Home Alone fo rlater.today,
Dh visiting his other 2 so we are having a restful day

WE have had torrential rain, the sheep in the field behind our house were marooned on a grass island
And our road is shut at one end, and at the other you can only go one way due ot flooding. And there is only the one road in our village

SuperBunny, I ma hoping for some green shoes from DH. And a glass necklace.

Actually, I feel quite terrible - unbeknown to me, dh had bought me an IPod touch. Well, I was saying that i htought they would be wasted on me, as I wouldn't ever use it, blah blah blah

Dh came downstairs on Thursday and said he had to tell me soemthing, and produced this IPod, and told me
WE are going ot share it, as it can't be taken back.

I was very apologetic

pinkspottywellies · 13/12/2008 13:28

I know what you mean Franny but I don't think it's too early for her IYSWIM. She already poos on the potty and tells me as she's doing a wee. What did you do with ds1 potty-wise?

We've just watched The Snowman and the Father Christmas one too! It was the treat in dd's advent train today

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 13/12/2008 13:34

I am bored. Loads to do, but bored. Pouring down all day here too I want to be outside, not doing housework and dealing with bored fretful children.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 13/12/2008 13:42

Just popping in to say hi...but had to answer SB's question..
My website was the best thing I could have asked for and is the best Christmas present ever because it opens up my dream again
Dream christmas involves copious amounts of (looks furtively around for franny) ssshhhhh...diet-coke, and my fantasy island,
Materialistic...Armani 'Code' Perfume.
Asics road running shoes. A racing bike and the biggest softest (on both sides) furry throw in the world to coccoon myself in.

Covering boxes with buttons with the children....

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 13/12/2008 13:45

for christmas I'd like a fireplace (in the front room, though if we ever get one, god knows where the tree will go)

A bottle of whisky
A book (s)
Nice cheeses
Some garden vouchers

SmilesLikeNoOther · 13/12/2008 13:53

Hi FMV, I wanted one of your homemade christmas cards but have misplaced your e-mail. mine is [email protected], and if you would like a homemade one in return let me have your address...

SmilesLikeNoOther · 13/12/2008 14:20

DS wants to go out on bikes in the rain [sigh] and him and H keep falling out again, I give up on weekends, I really do. Very tempted to get a weekend job. Bah!
It's no wonder I'm away with the bloody fairies.

TooTicky · 13/12/2008 16:18

Pink, I would go for it but in a v. no pressure, letting her do it herself, making it fun kind of way. It is splendid when they get it sorted at a young age.

Oh, Smiles, chamomile is used medicinally, to counteract fretfulness and sleeplessness, yes? So if you have to much of it, it is like constantly taking a homeopathic remedy and it will actually cause you to feel that way. See?

I am stuffing like a gannet-pig hybrid. Stop me somebody!!

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2008 17:32

"chamomile is used medicinally, to counteract fretfulness and sleeplessness, yes? So if you have to much of it, it is like constantly taking a homeopathic remedy and it will actually cause you to feel that way. See?"

err....no

been to do art on the art bus
it was BALTIC and i had silly shoes on and it made me quite grumpy
we then went to t*sco's
which let's face it is always a big mistake

i'm sure it'll be fine pink but it depends on whether you can be bothered i suppose
i just left it with ds and then there wasn't any training really - he just did it
long time in nappies though which has its own disadvantages obv

for christmas i would like
a nice flattering dress
some warm socks and slippers
a girls gone by voucher
jar of artichoke hearts
booja booja truffles
this purse
and weleda skin food
