For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Feel crap and cattarhy and chesty today. Bleurgh. Have taken day off in an attempt to cosset myself and try and prevent self getting more ill.
Boss said waspishly : ''You were fine yesterday..''

Er, actually I wasn't feeling fine but as I had to run a craft workshop for some excited service users, I kept shtum.

Am glugging Honigar hopefully.
Clementines, tomatoes, mushrooms, grapes so far.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 10/12/2008 12:41

School play this afternoon. They do three performances so the poor loves are exhausted. I might try to get out of tonights as I don't think I need to see it three times (do I? [Pleading emoticon]).

Cossetting vibes fmv {{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}},

Pottering around house doing all those little jobs that build up, but enjoying it.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 10/12/2008 13:14

3 times would be pushing the boundarys of proud parentdom imo...

3 years running we dobbed out of evening performance as ds2 was too tired and we figured they could live without one snowflake.....
Last year he was a narrator though so we had to go along with it!

SmilesLikeNoOther · 10/12/2008 13:18

There are only about 65 children in the school so it isn't like they have lots of parents to entertain.

But never mind. I always have a debate as to whether it is an event to 'dress up' a little.

Boco · 10/12/2008 13:18

Good luck today Toot.

FMV hope you feel better soon.

I missed 100x

Evie ill again. Same thing. More antibiotics, more steroids - although dr said it'd be ok not to give them to her straight away, give it til this evening. She's coughing and coughing and coughing. Were up at about 3am, she kept being sick and shouting 'IM BORED!' I think that might have been because of temp. Am so psychotically tired. I have a commission, a really lovely one and I want to be doing it, I HAVE to be doign it so that it's done in time - actually i'm doing two, but one I think will be ok after xmas, but one needs to be done this week - and even if I did try now, I'm so tired it'd be crap. I don't know why she keeps getting so ill all the time, I need to be proactive and get back onto the hospital but want to just curl up on the sofa with her. She's watched peppa pig on repeat though, so actually maybe not, maybe a sound proof cupboard would be better.
Sorry for going on and on.

poinsettia99divine · 10/12/2008 14:34

oh Boco, poor Evie and poor you it's so tough isn't it

just hang on in there, can someone else get tough with hospital while you curl on sofa?

TooT and TooTlet, good luck!

And feel better soon FMV - what a lot of sickness

(((healing vibes to all)))

if only a few trumps solved all problems as for Franny DS2!

Guadalupe · 10/12/2008 14:40

Isn't the doctor asking why she keeps getting it all the time? Are they going to investigate it? Sorry you are so tired, it's very shit. Stay on the sofa.

Toot - hope the op's going well.

I just saw an enormous rainbow and it seemed to be leaking. It wasn't a double one, only the pink was repeated underneath. Very odd. Could be my mind playing tricks on me, I do keep having odd experiences. Last night in the bath I couldn't remember if I'd already washed my hair and had to smell it to see and this morning I couldn't send a text for the life of me. Couldn't get the order right.

poinsettia99divine · 10/12/2008 14:47

Pink repeating rainbow can be a refraction of the light, going upside down, the inside out bit so to speak. You can get an inverted rainbow if the light is right and the clouds are too

or you could be going mad

poinsettia99divine · 10/12/2008 14:48

Checking shampoo is nothing. I often get to work and have to check I have knickers on. You know, suddenly wearing a skirt, it seems a bit sort of vulnerable and drafty. I am sure I will forget them one day.

But I suppose it would only matter if I forgot the skirt too

Boco · 10/12/2008 14:52

Well yes, the doctor is asking why she keeps getting it - as he referred us to specialist who she's seen, and who prescribed new tablets, and will review on 7th Feb to do further tests. Meanwhile new tablets not working obviously. He said I could push to be seen sooner, but it was very much down to me to do it.

Guadalupe · 10/12/2008 14:58

I see. But did they say it could be anything or give you an idea of what might cause it and what could be done. Seems odd to leave it to you to pursue it, I would have thought there was just a procedure. How stressful for you. I hope Peppa Pig is not driving you mad. A terrible thing happened to peppa pig here on the computer but I can't go into it.

Daisy - that is very clever of you! Yes, it does make sense that part of it was reflected out. I can safely say though, that in my whole life I have never sat in the bath and wondered whether I had just washed my hair or not. I had, but I had no recollection of it.

Guadalupe · 10/12/2008 14:59

Sorry, I am firing questions and you are tired. It just seems so frustrating, and it must be a thousand times more so for you.

Boco · 10/12/2008 15:03

Yes, they said they'd like to test for cystic fibrosis and various immune disorders. They're all quite intrusive and involve taking lots of blood and weirdly sweat, so they said they wanted to try the tablets on a 4 month trial first. They said that if she gets more infections in the mean time I can get in touch and they can move the testing forward. Gp has had all this in a letter too as we went through it today. He just thinks it's up to me as to whether I want those tests moved forwards, so up to me to get in touch, which is fair enough, I just don't really know. I guess any 'procedure' would depend on if she has any of the disorders.

Guadalupe · 10/12/2008 15:09

Sorry, I meant procedure as in, symptoms, tests, results, not an actual procedure. I think I sound a bit thick today? I think I am a bit thick today.

Yes, I can see why you'd want to avoid that at all costs. Not nearly as bad but I cancelled ds2's appointment with the opthamologist yesterday. They want to test his eye ducts to see if they're blocked but I'm convinced it's allgery rather than blockage as why would his nose run as well as him being asthmatic. He has a bit of a cold and I couldn't face them poking around with his eyes. If they decide it is blocked then they put a wire in it under general.

I hope she feels better soon.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 10/12/2008 15:17

Oh Boco I am so so sorry, poor you, Evie and your family.
Glad you have a commission, I hope it gives you a boost even if you are too tired to appreciate it at the moment.
For what they are worth, {{{{{healing and comforting hugs and vibes}}}}}.

Hey Daisy I was going to enquire about you on my next post...well timed. Hope all is well with you. You're not a commando girl then?

Boco · 10/12/2008 15:22

No the wire sounds horrid, I can see why you'd want to avoid. It's hard isnt' it, to make those kinds of judgments, I find it quite confusing and conflicting. You want answers and for them to feel better, but don't want to put them through unnecessary stress or give them unnecessary drugs or have them scanned or poked. The pills she's taking are full of aspartame, she's had 5 x-rays in a few months, 4 lots of antibiotics and steroids.

Not sure what to do, I was going to wait and see, then she had another pneumonia, then I was going to wait and see and now she's ill again. I don't know, decisions probably best made when not tired.

littlerach · 10/12/2008 15:22

Boco.
Poor Evie.

Dd2 (also Evie!!) has her nativity tonihght - eek! She is v excited.

Hope it went ok TooTicky and miniTooT.

Guad, I can never remember if I have washed my hair and have to ask dh if he can remember.
Yetserday I couldn't start my bloody car at the garage.
I asked the nive young man, he looked at it, got in took it out of gear, and startde it.

Boco · 10/12/2008 15:23

Thanks Smiles

Boco · 10/12/2008 15:25

Rach my Evie is a very reluctant sheep next week. Her sister is a shepherd. She's quite cross about the whole thing as she wanted to be a fox as she's become a bit fox obsessed. We've been trying to get through to her that there aren't any foxes in the nativity but she cares not for these rules.

Swedes · 10/12/2008 15:28

Boco - Sorry to hear about your little girl. Sounds exhausting for you and truly horrid for her. I can't offer any advice but I would say don't even try to make any decisions re further tests whilst really really tired.

Darn I missed 100x. Would one of you kind ladies please ask her if we are still on for the Petrochemical exhibition in February? I'm planning to wear an outft sourced from the Gulf states and Kazakstan with an underskirt filled with LNG (possibly also a cage crinoline made from decommissioned North Sea Platforms but I'm not sure about that yet). Can you please ask her what she is wearing as I don't want us to be too samey?

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 10/12/2008 15:33

Oh Boco, I'm so sorry for wee E, (and you!)

Tootlet is in theatre as we speak, have just attempted to give Toots a text hug, but perhaps i just bracketed her...

Guad, wire thing sounds grim.

Have burny throat caused by drinking too much honigar and hot lemon.
I Have to go to work tomorrow no matter how I feel

SmilesLikeNoOther · 10/12/2008 15:37

No improvement then fmv. You deserve to be well for drinking honeygar. It was recommended to me as a solution to joint pain, but I am afraid I'd rather suck my DS's socks!

Guadalupe · 10/12/2008 15:39

I drink vinegar in juice quite a lot.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 10/12/2008 15:45

I got on with the vinegar side but combined with honey just not for me.

I actually really like the image of a rainbow leaking Guad, like when you drop a spot of ink into water.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 10/12/2008 16:13

I have to dilute it a lot....
