For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello Pink. I have invited you to bananagrams.

SuperBunny · 06/12/2008 20:45

When I was teaching, we had a box of jewellery that we used for making costumes & collages etc. The boys would always try the necklaces & bracelets on and we always caught one or two stuffing them into their pockets. I think they didn't get to play with 'girly' things at home. I always feel bad when boys have to do stuff secretly because it isn't 'masculine' enough.

Will check Toot.

SuperBunny · 06/12/2008 20:49

What's bananagrams and why am I not invited?

SuperBunny · 06/12/2008 20:50

LR, I want marzipan now!

FrayedKnot · 06/12/2008 21:14

DS loves nothing better than to appropriate things from my jewellery box

What d'yall think of mincemeat baklava as a concept?

I have mincemeat, and I have some filo pastry, and I need to do something with them both, together.

SuperBunny · 06/12/2008 21:29

I think it sounds v good, FK.

My DS has a shoe thing. The higher the heels the better. We were in a shop the other day and he saw some pink wellies. He needed some snow boots and looked at them and said, "I like those boots, I want them..." then pondered for a bit and said, "but they are for girls, aren't they?"

Why does my 3 yr old have a concept of 'boy' stuff and 'girl' stuff? I am really careful not to label things like that.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 06/12/2008 21:32

Roffling at concept of a mincemeat balaclava....bit sticky for my liking.

I've got a bar of chocolate covered marzipan in my handbag for emergencies!

My DS is always messing with DD'S stuff and pinching her videos and books. He has a lovely pink chenille jumper.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 06/12/2008 21:35

And where is everyone being invited?...outdoes SB's sulk.....I suppose it's 'my-book' or 'face-space'....huh.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 06/12/2008 22:05

flops into pit and flicks haribo everwhere, drinking diet-coke and eating hula-hoops (the ones that I haven't got on my fingers and toes.

blows very rude raspberries at absent veggers.

I'M HORMONAL GODDAMIT.

TooTicky · 06/12/2008 22:31

I was upstairs reading The Hobbit to sleepy dcs.

I do do facebook though. It's a good place to go when there's nobody here.

SB, I think I did invite you too. It's sort of abstract scrabble.

pinkspottywellies · 06/12/2008 22:37

Bananagrams is wierd. No-one's missing out

pinkspottywellies · 06/12/2008 22:44

SB I get so cross that everything's labelled boys and girls. DD has to have 'boys' pjs cause she likes Thomas Why can't they just be children's? And toys always seem to separated and labelled as 'boys' and 'girls'. Fair enough display them in the more obvious categories but to actually specify who must play with them Ok I'll stop now cause I have had this rant before!! How much snow have you got there? I think my SIL has just been to where you live. (Begins with C?) She was getting dd a coat for her birthday but had to get an autumny one cause the proper winter ones for there are for temps of like -30 with fur and everything!!

Mou. Join facebook and play scrabble with me. Unless you're as good as Lully cause she's totally walloping me. Or TooT cause she's VERY good but not quite the embarrasment that Lully's causing!

Night all. Should've gone to bed aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago but have done an online shop so can have an early night on Monday instead !

I CAN'T WAIT TIL CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TooTicky · 06/12/2008 23:41

Pink, Lully wallops me
And I think I've just been lucky with my letters recently.

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 05:58

PSW, I get quite irrate about it too. Yes, I am in C - there is only a few inches of snow. But you're right about the coats. Lots of people wear fur.

I can't play your version of Scrabble

Date was lovely Boots were fine. I rode the train with Santa. He wanted me to have my photo taken with him but I refused. A single woman sitting on Santa's knee is not really the done thing, is it? He gave me a candy cane instead. Then I went to a bar like a grown up and had a drink. Wahey!

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 06:01

I want Lully to wallop me too

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 06:06

This is Santa's Train - he has an El train all of his own that goes round the city in December.

FrannyandZooey · 07/12/2008 10:25

I am here. I have given up trying to have a nice breakfast. Ds2 wanted my orange juice and though I tried to help him drink it it slipped and smashed the glass I only replaced three days ago, then when I was getting the dustpan and brush he leant over and ate all my scrambled egg in one handful that he crammed in his mouth. This was hilarious according to everyone else at the table eating their egg.

I did eat three slices of toast with butter while i cooked it though, so I expect I won't waste away.

Gorgeous day here. We will walk somwhere I expect. Winter walking is always such an expedition though isn't it. Three thousand hats, scarves, gloves, boots. I haven't got a flask. I will ask for one for christmas.

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 11:42

Have a good day Guad

Franny, either go and do what you have to do or talk to me.

Guadalupe · 07/12/2008 11:49

Thanks! It was covered in slat and pepper but that didn't seem to bother him.

I think I have done most of my christmas shopping bar the odd thing. Shame they wrote their lists last night and there was little comparison. We might have to manipulate wishes closer to funds and actual purchases.

Ds1 requested a red ipod chromowotsit newest release nano. I said he could save up for it.

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 11:52

Ha ha yes, the list thing. Ds1 is quite modest this year, just wants a hamster.
Ds2 just wants everything

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 11:54

And dd1 has the knack of wanting things that she will never actually use.

Guadalupe · 07/12/2008 11:56

To be fair, their lists are usually very modest, asking for pens/sweets/books etc, and they are this year, except ds1 has snuck this ipod nano business in amongst the fudge and Arsenal annual.

TooTicky · 07/12/2008 11:59

Cunning. Perhaps he thought you'd buy it without thinking?

Ds1 has had some crackers in the past, including a real badger, meeting Bill Oddie and seeing ewhales. He always illustrates them beautifully too.

Ds2 just writes Doctor Who this and Spiderman that until he is quite exhausted and runs out of space. He is very susceptible to advertising.
