For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

currently have bag with drawstring opening
wear on back

I don't think i have ever had a handbag sort of bag you know and I blame them for losses
men don't lose their wallets do they
it's handbags that are the trouble

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 19:00

Ah you see, gold is no so far from yellow and my chicken was yellow. A child will find yours and give it to their mother to buy beans and she will hand it in at the post office. You'll see.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 19:02

You are right, Franny, I always have an impractical handbag loosely hanging on either the pram or my shoulder and I often sling my purse in the top thinking I really should tuck that in a bit better.

In fact, I always reject a bag if it doesn't have a zip-up pocket which is a waste of time as I never put it in it.

SuperBunny · 17/11/2008 19:13

Hey, simple things please me too, Franny. I live a dull life. When I saw a friend on Saturday night we gushed over her new cake stand and measuring cups

What a pain, Boco I once lost a purse and it was sent back to me in the post before I even realised it was missing and everything was still in it. I hope that happens to you. I was only about 14 at the time so had nothing too important in it. Perhaps that;s why nothing was nicked [cynic] I always zip my bag up now. I get a bit OCD about it and constantly check.

Go out, Guad! It'll get rid of the sour face. Happy birthday.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 19:13

Stuffit - nice to see you! I am a friendly island now, just not today.

littlerach · 17/11/2008 19:15

I am a bit OCD ish about bags and zips.

Also, checking to see if the car has locked when I beep it.

Just in case, you see.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 19:15

Thank you, SB, I am going to go I think.

Er excuse me, I am hearing the blasts of the band we were going to see coming up the stairs. Is this supposed to cheer me up?

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 19:16

Ha haha, now it is jumping. Now that has cheered me up. I am going now. Good bye.

OsmosisBOOnana · 17/11/2008 19:17

Ah Guad, we must be sharing the same DH. This one is practically an outlaw. Hope your bday celebration materialises, about the same time that Boco's wallet does.

I have escaped uni.

I had an exam today.

I did rather well considering no revision was done.

And my tutor read my essay, all good.

I I I I i iii

Boco · 17/11/2008 19:20

SB it did happen it did! Almost exactly as mystic Guad said - a young girl found it in the road and her mum just brought it round - I have no idea how she found where I live, was gushingly grateful. And all the money and everything was still there! Hooray - faith in hoomans restored.

SuperBunny · 17/11/2008 19:25

Hooray!

I love it when things like that happen. How lovely of them.

SuperBunny · 17/11/2008 19:26

And well done OB

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 19:36

Oh GOOD! It's found. Yes, whatever I say becometh the truth. Er, what else can I try that on?

Lol at outlaw, OB.

littlerach · 17/11/2008 19:37

Hurrah Boco.

mou · 17/11/2008 19:48

No time really...but brilliant Boco was for you about purse, It is horrible when stuff like that happens.

And will someone please tie me to the central yurt pole for my own sanity!!

AAAAArrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!!!

FrayedKnot · 17/11/2008 20:25

Evening everyone...what a lot of excitement I've missed today.

Guad hope Japanese is good. Am curious as to the band you were supposed to be seeing.

Hooray for purse being found! It was really odd reading the htread and the story unfolding - Guad's prediction was quite eery.

I left my purse in a phone box once with money in (not much) and someone took it to the police station...that was in t'olden days of course, about 20 years ago, when people were honest as the day is long.

Nowadays they just nick iPods from gym changing rooms

I have had 10 today and may make more as I have a satsuma snack planned shortly.

I am supposed to be doing organized things as I am out tomorrow and Weds and I am not doing them.

SuperBunny · 17/11/2008 20:33

I'll tie you up, mou! Are you ok?

FK, I remember the good old days when people were honest...

TooTicky · 17/11/2008 22:37

Thank you Franny, that is a fun gadget. How big is it? I am imagining it about the size of a pepperpot, but I suppose that's not really practical.

Boco, so glad your purse came back!!!

Guad, really hope you have a good evening. I have a little something for you btw but have mislaid your address. Please email it to me or I may eat the something by mistake.

I had my purse stolen once. It was just after my dad died and I had just collected child benefit money to buy train ticket to go to the funeral and I nearly couldn't go. It was thoroughly awful. Then the Halifax phoned me the next day and said they had it and when I went to collect it they spoke to me as if I were a complete idiot, saying I'd just dropped it in the Halifax and it hadn't been stolen at all, so I opened it and all the money was gone and I said yes it jolly well was stolen.

I am eating really badly.

Who is that jogging around the pole? Mou? What on earth are you doing there?

mou · 18/11/2008 01:09

,
'Tis I Toot, SB kindly obliged.

Have had a 'day'. Not quite worth a rant but actually sent my bloody children little angels to bed early as they were blending my brain into an amoeba like smoothie.

Was so relieved about Boco's purse, had started to try to think of an action plan. I am in awe of Guad and have set up a little shrine to her predictive greatness.
And I hope your birthday put a smile back on your face, whatever you did. Sympathies over financial worries, it is so wearing, and especially before Christmas.

I had had a great day until the family returned from school/work. (I am not being awful) They are all full of colds and in 'moods'. But I had one of those days that started well and just flowed, and a lovely, lovely RL friend rang me and wants to take me out for coffee as she had seen me a couple of weeks ago and noticed I wasn't myself.

Stuffit, did you know there were 'kidnet' type sites and some of them seem fairly secure and anonymous. I know you were concerned about your DC's isolation. Would they be interested in e-mailing some MNers DC's? He's a bit unreliable but mine ould be thrilled to. He is 10.

well, jogging around the yurt pole is about all the exercise I have had today as I thought I should have the day off. But may do extra tomorrow.

TooTicky · 18/11/2008 02:16

Hello Mou

Ds2 has been heartily sick in the big bed. Why has he been sick? Is it a bug? (oh heck please no) or something he ate ? (not much different from the others) too much chloriney water? (is this possible? It was quite fierce today)
As if there weren't enough damp things sitting around in the house.
Ds1 is taking it all very personally (we were all in the same bed and much went on ds1's duvet)

So, do I go back to bed? Stay up and crochet? Oh dear, I did so want some sleep but fear if I go up it may provoke fate and extra eruptions.

TooTicky · 18/11/2008 02:28

Don't think I've been on MN at this time of night before. It is strangely quiet.
Actually not so strange I suppose.

SuperBunny · 18/11/2008 03:31

Evening

It is strange here atnight, isn't it toot? Hope DS2 is better. It;s never nice to cleaN up a sicky bed, especially a big one.TYhat is itheonedownside ofco-sleeping. Hope you were able to get some sleep.

Spacebar not working wellso 'scuse theodd sentences.

Pumpkinand blackbeansoup (2,maybe 3)
Fruit kebab thingies
Raisins

Oh, that was worse than I thought.

mou · 18/11/2008 07:16

Oh. Poor you and DS Toot. Hope it is something he ate rather than a bug so no one else gets it.

In a thoughtful frame of mind...hmmmm, strokes chin intelligently.
Supposed to be walking with friends this afternoon but sort of in the mood to be on my own in RL and sift through my brain. Perhaps a natter will do me good.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 09:04

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 09:18

toot it is a bit like a v fat pepper mill
i think man designed it - it's too wide for my hand to grip for long time comfortably
do not buy one for grating cheese (not you toot i mean anyone) as is not easier, but harder
eggs are fun though and will report back on other substances
dp very impressed by fact there is about 10 bits to clean instead of 1
