For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

ok TooT please ignore the big lumps of dairy produce in this picture
and the name
it is for nuts honestly

I haven't searched to find a site where you can buy in UK
or for that matter tried to grind nuts with it
but it claims to grate nutmeg so there you go

FWIW i use a coffee grinder to grind nuts up really fine, but I get frustrated sometimes as it doesn't always do a fab job
i had a nut grinder on my blender but the bobbins broke and they don#t do spare parts for it so RUDDY annoying

right must stop emotifest

am searching for non weapon laden christmas toys, will start thread

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 16:03

Great.

I was going out tonight for the first time in ages to a gig with dh. Now they have cancelled because, they have, like, a cold or somthing.

Shall I stay in or go somewhere else? It was my birthday treat, maybe I will go for Japanese.

On a brighter note, tax credits are going to let us pay £5000 overpayment back at £75 a month which is better than the £500 we had to appeal against.

I am aware I am being completely self-absorbed and have not read the thread. Sorry.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 16:04

Yes, actually I think I need a Bento box with miso soup and sushi and something with teriyaki. Mmm.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 16:12

Cheese, sleep and parking problems. I hope they are all resolved.

DD wants Heelys for christmas. I can't think of anything I'd rather she had less to be honest. She has a doll. It's actually very hard to find a nice doll that doesn't cost £150 a la Kathe Kruse types.

mou · 17/11/2008 17:37

The bollox way I talk sometimes it might just as well be spam SB, but sorry for unnerving you.

Hey Guad, be as self-absorbed as you need..go out and have fun...

I want snow!! (sulky emoticon)

Boco · 17/11/2008 18:16

Guad is it your birthday? I remembered it was close to your dds but forgot how close!

Are you going to tell us about house stuff? Any developments?

I've just lost my purse and spent an hour pacing about the village muttering and swearing with a torch. I had to knock on piano teacher's door and ask her to lend me a fiver I do NOT understand - I put it in my bag, i walked to the post office, I opened my bag - it was gone! Had weeks cash, all cards and even, stupidly all my tax return receipts! Idiot idiot. Where is it??????

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:24

ah no boco

have you retraced steps etc

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:25

yes you have duh ..

thinking hard

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:27

did you leave bag for a second to go to loo before leaving the house.. small hands being helpful?

Boco · 17/11/2008 18:31

I've interrogated small children, i've offered cash reward, I've the pleaded - but they both look really confused. It just makes no sense!

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:32

OB are you still trapped? I guess you must be writing your essay.

Mou, haven't you all had snow already? Is it cold enough? I used to want deep snow as a mother of three under four just so we could lock ourselves in the house and hide under duvets and leave the washing up

Hello Guad, I still think of you as v friendly carrot, what a rotten thing to happen. How dare they cancel. Hope you do something even nicer.

hello f and z, and bunny and Toot (really want to talk girls but am going to bed early (midnight ) so disappearing in a min

How do people manage to fit everything in. I don't even have pre-schoolers. I must be the worst organised person in the world.

have you found it boco?

SuperBunny · 17/11/2008 18:33

Oh no, Boco. Did it fall out in the car? Is it in the fridge?

CHeese mill looks good. Will you test it for nuts, Franny, and report back? Please.

Guad, that's a lot of money to have to pay back

mou, it was lovely to hear from you. I was just confused. Will reply soon, promise.

Snow all gone but is sunny and cold.

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:33

were you bumped into by anyone on your walk

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:35

fridge was my first thought .. you must be like me bunny

are you sure you did not take it out of your bag just before leaving in order to check that you had your cash/stamps/shopping list/tax receipts and then just put it on top of radiator or something

FrannyandZooey · 17/11/2008 18:41

Bunny I would be DELIGHTED to test for nuts and report back
I don't get many thrills in my life atm
ok is it the time to admit i mostly bought it because the salesman had the most amazing texan accent and was giving it the full monty? I was wearing a cowboy hat that said 'tequila' on it at the time (don't ask) so i think he knew he was onto a winner
my friend bought one too he must have seen us coming

boco i also wondered if someone has nicked it
did you stop to tell anyone the time or anything? i hope it turns up

Guad god you must come for sushi here one time, we have the most excellent restaurant

stuffitllama · 17/11/2008 18:41

off to bed, I hope you find it boco, and without spending hours and hours looking

I haven't had time to read properly tonight but it is so lovely to be back

night all x

Boco · 17/11/2008 18:42

Not in the fridge. Not anywhere. Have just cancelled cards. Is such a PAIN. I had it, I left the house, got to post office and it was gone. It was dark, someone must have picked it up. I hope it wasn't a person who will not give it back.

littlerach · 17/11/2008 18:44

Snow

Boco, have you checked yoyr pockets? That's wher I find things.

Tomato
Banana
Carrpts
green beans
red pepper
yellow pepper
more tomatoes

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 18:46

Oh, no, Boco, it must be there somewhere. Sit quietly and think where it could be. Did you leave it near the top of your bag? It was my birthday on the 9th but tickets for tonight was my night out. I've wanted to see this band for ages.

The house is intensely stressful as we have had lots of trouble getting a mortgage atm as it turns out dh neglected to tell me about his bad credit rating due to some missed payments a while back. Then there is his speeding fine, parking fine and unpaid congestion charge fine, two of which have increased due to non-payment. Then there's me trying to save money and saying no to vintage baubles and stuff. Why do I bother?

I could just forget about it tbh, stuff having a bigger house, it is such a nightmare and I am avoiding the estate agents and have psoriasis all over my elbows and a crick in my neck and I can't listen to the radio because of all the horrible news and my cd player makes my cds jump and stick which makes me want to smash something and my laptop is broken and I am sitting upstairs with an out of date gluten-free beer wondering whether to go out with dh as my sour face might put people off their food.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 18:47

Thanks, Franny, is an hours time ok?

Boco · 17/11/2008 18:50

Oh MY Guad.
First I'm really sorry I missed your birthday! That's rubbish.

Dh sounds like a slightly loosish cannon doesn't he?

go out, you need to go out and have really nice food and drink in a different place.

Purse GAWN. I took it out of my bag, counted my money, put it back, left the house, just like that. It must have fallen out, must've.

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 18:55

It's ok. I nearly missed my birthday, it's sandwiched amongst all the others though dh did make a big effort and we had a nice day.

Guffaw at loose cannon, he is indeed. He is often wild and interesting and fun and generous and will do anything I want within reason but my god he is hard work too. I never exactly know what's going on and there is always some funny business. I suppose he always going to be a little bit dodgy. Reader, I married him.

Anyway, your purse. I always lose my purse and mostly get it back. Have you considered swaping yours for a chicken?

FrannyandZooey · 17/11/2008 18:56

I've never lost my purse
I am too dull i think

Guadalupe · 17/11/2008 18:57

What never?

What do you do and where do you put it? Show me your bag.

Boco · 17/11/2008 18:58

Yours was a homing chicken, mine is a frivolous gold square and I fear it's gone forever.

Dh seems great, he just needs surveillance doesn't he.
