For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello!

Thanks for the update SB

I have been neglecting you all in favour of chinese food and vodka, for which I feel rather guilty.

It was good though

Am feeling fairly spritely considering DS was jumping on my head at 6am, too.

Get well soon to all the poorly people.

SuperBunny · 30/11/2008 14:46

good mantra Filthy. And song. We have to play that frequently.

Is DS2 unwell, Franny, or just being a babt and waking up for no apparent reason?

Finger;s crossed for Toot'd DS.

I don't know Kate Rusby but shall google her later.

I'm off to chinatown and it's snowing sideways. My sister, who has been bouncing around saying, "I hope it snows, will it snow? I hope it snows" etc is looking less impressed than expected.

FrayedKnot · 30/11/2008 15:43

Is she not grateful that you organized it all specially for her, SB?

Hope you have a good time!

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 16:09

Have fun SB.

I don't feeeeel very weeelllllllll

My head hurts and I'm cold and my nose feels horrid and I'm cold and it hurts behind my ear for no sensible reason and I'm COLD! My hips are loose and will probably fall right off in a minute and I still managed to make stew and dumplings and bread dough.
Dd2 is very waily and every time I bf her she puts cold hands all over my torso.
I want to go somewhere warm and sleep.
Oh, and I am committed to looking after a friend's baby for 8 hours tomorrow

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 16:10

I don't have cider vinegar. I do have lemons and honey though.

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 16:39

And a sleeping child in my lap so can't do owt.

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 16:40

aw sweetheart!

DH back in 7 hours and counting. I have missed him so much. But not his snoring.
our friend came over today with his daughter and I cooked us all sunday dinner and he said that I was surprisingly competent and together without dh.
I do know what he means though. We are together so much I think people think I am rather dependent on him. But actually, lifestyle wise, nothing much changes....

You must be kindred spirits fmv

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 17:33

Am wondering if I should warn friend with baby that we are ill. She might think I am trying to back out. I'd quite like to actually but it's too short notice.
I'd quite like to sleep a bit. Ds1 and I have to leave the house at 6.30 on Tuesday morning. If he doesn't come down with this lurgy.

filthymindedvixen · 30/11/2008 17:37

lol, no we are just co-dependant as no-one else would put up with us

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 30/11/2008 17:38

if i had a baby, I'd be very grateful if people didn't come and spread their lurgies, personally - if it is a PFB....
On the other hand, I am always so happy to have visitors, I'd put up with everything bar Bubonic plague!

Have just heard from Stuffit. She and family are okay

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 17:40

She has to work, baby is coming here. Think we may actually have caught lurgy from them...

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 18:13

Oh dear, ds1 now miserable and headachey. Suspect hospital will have to be postponed.
Will we EVER get these hospital things over and done with?/!!

BBBee · 30/11/2008 18:35

oh dear tooty - how horrid.

you need to button down and get better. read children riot act and let them go a bit ferral and eat lots of cereal. it will be fine.

hospital thing is a pain - you will get it done but not when you are ill.

re: friend with baby - i would contact her and let her know or postpone.

i hope you feel better. have somethin with iron in and lots of juice.

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 19:11

Thank you Bee.

Ds1 now definitely ill, headache and tummy ache and hot and roaring.
Dd2 still wailing and coughing and streaming and hot after 4 days.
Dd1 sort of rallying but still coughing asnd streaming.
Ds2 making cheerful monkey noises and throwing a paper aeroplane with "ds1 is a merder" written on it

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 19:13

Baby still coming tomorrow. She's not well either

I have drunk half a lemon in the last hour.
