For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello lovely fruiters!!

All is well, I have found 2 tickets

We went for a brisk, frosty walk to a fab sweet shop which fuelled us for the long march home up a steep hill. Ds1 has his best mate coming for a sleepover. I have a wine box and a truck load of clementines, so that's me sorted
I am going to make persuade them to let me watch Edward Scissorhands or Pirates of the carribean (again so I can get a Johnny fix in DH's absence!
And tomorrow our best friend is bringing his daughter (and ds1's secret paramour) over and we will all go to cheapie kids' cinema and then have a roast dinner.
My house is spotless too. So I think the St John's Wort has finally kicked in

TooTicky · 29/11/2008 16:47

You sound well sorted fmv

littlerach · 29/11/2008 17:03

FMV, sounds great now!

TooTicky, I have a poorly dd2 too.
I ma very fortunate that we rarely get ill. Dd1 used to suffer with ear infections as a toddler, but dd2 is hardly ever ill.
She is "bungled" up, she says

Watched Xmas lights g o on last night, and was nice.

Sold lots of crap Nearly New stuff at NCT sale today. And, didn't buy much in return, except some boots for me .

Lets not talk F&V

filthymindedvixen · 29/11/2008 17:11

althouh sadly I see that someone has changed all the clocks...is it really only 5pm?
We have had a nice day, and ds's friend is here. But my, time is crawling.....

pinkspottywellies · 29/11/2008 19:14

I'll talk f&v littlerach in an effort to detract from yours! Not 10 but... tinned pears (when I got up at nearly 11!), cuc, banana/satsuma (shared with dd so 1 portion altogether), peas, carrots, sweetcorn. Yay! 6 so far so if I have some apricots, orange juice and an apple this evening I'll have had a very respectable 9 [proud]

We started clearing out the spare/baby's room today. I say 'we' DH sat and watched but then I set him doing some birthday Thank You's with dd (he's never done that before ) and he put things in the attic. We've also cleared out his wardrobe and have 2 huge bags for the charity shop. (Well I was actually hoping that the homeless shelter would be able to use them - rather than charity shop selling them for money IYSWIM. Does anyone know if this is likely?)

Gosh I'm waffling tonight! Love the Bombaby slip Guad!! and LOL at 'chemical free' Franny!

FMV it's nice to hear you sounding happier

TooT hope dd2 feels better soon.

FrannyandZooey · 29/11/2008 19:33

apple, pear, melon, raisins
veg lasagne - lots of leeks in it but mostly consisted of ch**se I must admit
couple handfuls of veg bits - cuc tom beetroot carrot pepper sugar snaps avo
apple satsuma

been trying on dresses in Monsoon OH MY GOD they are nice

I actually looked quite ooh and not just frumpy spare tyre lady

pinkspottywellies · 29/11/2008 20:33

I had my apple.

Where is everyone?

TigerFeet · 29/11/2008 20:34

Hello

I have a working computer at home

Hoo fucking rah!

How is everyone? What news?

BBBee · 29/11/2008 20:52

ahoy fruities!

hey tige3r

the big news is pink ate the apple bacon sandwich

any other news - have been AWOL as usual.

TigerFeet · 29/11/2008 20:57

Congratulations Pink on the bacon butty apple. DH bought some bacon apples today for tomorrow's breakfast. Yum.

DD has been coughing and temperaturing over the past few days. I suspect she is better now though, given that tonight before bed she was boinging around like a good'un.

Hello BBBeee

TooTicky · 29/11/2008 21:03

They are all wailing and screaming and fighting here. I want a quiet corner.

Guadalupe · 29/11/2008 21:04

Well I have eaten a vast amount of fromage. Cauliflower cheese made with fontina, gruyere, parmesan and something else unpasteurised that I've forgotten. Mmm, it was lovely. I did have a tomato salad with it but I suspect this does not negate the cheese.

My children are rampaging around the house showing no signs of tiredness.

filthymindedvixen · 29/11/2008 21:38

I can finally get on 'pooter after the boys have spent 3 hours messing about on it!
We have sleepover hell here. They have gone upstairs ''to play''. Anyone got any earplugs?

Pleased to report:
Spinach,
mushrooms,
chillis,
peppers,
onion
broclli
carrot
(in a prawny noodly stirfry)
Popcorn
2 plums
Clementine

I claim my 10/10 badge please

Dd2 is delirious. I feel weird. My head and thighs are hot but the rest of me is shivering

SmilesLikeNoOther · 30/11/2008 00:23

You sound upbeat fmv, it is lovely.

What were the boots like LR? I luuurrrrve boots,

Do you have a fabric recycling thingymabobby any where near you pink? i am sure a shelter would take tham though.

Monsoon clothes and Accessorize accessories, mmmmmmmmmm. You never find monsoon stuff in charity shops, which just goes to show. Someone once sold me some Accessorize gift vouchers really cheaply and the police were involved....the shop wanted to refuse them (long story), but when they called the police, they made them honour them as I had brought them in good faith.

However I discovered just how gullible I am!

TF, hi....., and BBBEE! Yayyyy!

That is why I run Toot, sad lack of quiet corners in this house, and no need to worry, apparently I am_ officially the mother from hell.

Toot my love, I'm for you and wish I was closer, You and your poor Dc's.

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 00:38

Am now sitting here with a centrally heated child in my lap

Hello Smiles

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 00:40

Oh sorry LR, missed you earlier! Hope dd perks up soon.
I think they were switchig the lighhts on in Melksham today. Am quietly pleased we managed to miss it.

SuperBunny · 30/11/2008 03:03

Lets see:

FMV is feeling more cheerful.

Toot is not feeling well. Do you have any kiki stuff?

PSW has been busy cleaning. I think a homeless shelter/ women's aid place would take stuff.

LR's DD is bungled up

Fanny has been trying on swanky dresses in Monsoon where Smiles had an incident with dodgy vouchers

Guad ate a deliciously cheesy cauli cheese

Tigerfeet is back!

BBBee popped in

and I have eaten much greenery and veg and have bought a pair of shoes to replace the ones that have huge holes in. I was fed up of having wet feet

FrannyandZooey · 30/11/2008 09:25

oh god TooT I forgot (repeatedly) to ask about dd1 and iron (was that it?) am idiot, sorry. will try to remember now

it was the kiki that reminded me

ds2 up in night making all kinds of noises

i declined to feed him every 6 minutes so dp feeling quite ravaged this morning (usually I just feed him quietly and dp knows nothing about it)

am planning gym later

hope ill people feel better

TooTicky · 30/11/2008 09:40

Congrats on new shoes SB. It is wonderful to suddenly have dry feet.

No, I don't have kiki. Perhaps I should, I could do with a miracle.

Franny, I am too useless to have researched myself so don't feel bad.

I am eating apple crumble.

I am on tenterhooks wondering if ds1 is going to come down with this or whether it is just girl flu or something. He has his big hospital day on Tuesday.

filthymindedvixen · 30/11/2008 09:45

healthy vibes to Toots and tootlets!

I am feeling more upbeat. I do have a depressive streak which I mostly manage to keep a lid on. But I had a series of unfortunate events over the past month and it brought me down.

HHowever, without a trace of cheese my mantra is ''I get knocked down. But I get up again''. I live by that (and sometimes have to play the song loudly to remind me...)

It's much cheaper than therapy

Apple Crumble.... will be there in a minute Toot....

Guadalupe · 30/11/2008 12:43

Colds and throats all over the place here too, Toot. Hope you feel better soon. Have you been on the cider vinegar?

Fmv - I meant to say that I tried to see Kate Rusby here a couple of times but it was always sold out really quickly. I haven't listened to her for ages actually. I might dig out the cd today.
