For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

'lo OB. Nice to see you. Kitchen sounds like a pain.

Am off to get my sister. Have to go on the train which will give me about an hour in which to crochet her scarf for her xmas present. That's do-able, isn't it?

daisy99divine · 28/11/2008 17:33

Oh Osba, pants re kitchen but at least you hadn't paid deposit!

SB, an hour for a hat? Easy peasy

SmilesLikeNoOther · 28/11/2008 17:56

Osba----'not being lured back in'
awwwwww, g'wan, we miss you soooo much, (fluttering eyelashes emoticon)

Well done on weight, don't worry about it going back on a bit. It'll soon come off again.

Does anybody want a parcel of girls clothes, age 4 and up? Have just discovered my daughter has a bedroom, not a walk-in wardrobe.

She has just emptied six jigsaws out together in a pile!

sigh.

Crawls back to bed, wimpering.

Hello

FMV >
Guad

And I'm a vodka girl myslef...l'eau de juniper berry does not agree with me.

Back later

SmilesLikeNoOther · 28/11/2008 19:58

Phone the organisers and do some weedling fmv, bet they have some in reserve somewhere....

TooTicky · 28/11/2008 20:04

Just been to school Christmas fair and am reeling somewhat....£3.50 for 5 minute "train" ride, and dd2's "present" from "Father Christmas" was a plastic purse containing 3 mallow sweets. Not wishing to be mean mummy from hell, I let her have one and it made her sick
I don't have a leg to stand on though because I am a crap not-on-the-committee parent.

pinkspottywellies · 28/11/2008 20:06

You might be able to win some FMV - keep an ear out for local radio!

Hello all! I went out last night I had some vouchers for a spa place so me and pg friend (who comes on MN too) went for a pedicure, then to the pub with another friend too. It was lovely and I didn't get in til a quarter past eleven

F&V tally is not ok today Although brocolli soup for lunch and spag bol for tea so at least about 2. Oh and orange juice. DH has just gone out for chocolate for me. I really ought to have some fruit before he comes back and I pig out!

MUST do more exercise. Can you all get on at me please!

Franny I love the coat. FMV about the school thing but I'm sure you've done the right thing. TooT ouodgfwjejdoibdfkgjh. Mou hope you feel better soon. Guad hope the house and impersonators don't cause any trouble. Re the house, things always happen for a reason. Boco hope Evie's ok. OsBa COME BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

TooTicky · 28/11/2008 20:24

Pink!! Okay, do some exercise but get lots of sleep too!

SmilesLikeNoOther · 28/11/2008 20:26

....DS and H having an argument earlier and DS puffs himself up and says
"actually Dad, you are not the only one who works hard around here, like you said."

silence ensued....

!!!!!!W.T.F!
good job I am too poorly to respond.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 28/11/2008 22:59

have I scared everybody off with my grumpiness?

Or has everybody else actually got something to do on a friday night?

Anyway a Question for SB, i think. Do I remember that at some point in your life you did some level of taxidermy? I am doing a montage/collage and would like to use some butterflies ( we get a lot that have 'died of natural causes' in cobwebs'). How best could I prolong their 'life' within the picture?
I know you are bust but would appreciate the advice.-thank you.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 28/11/2008 23:00

that'll be 'busy', not bust.

TooTicky · 29/11/2008 00:20

Hope you feel better soon Smiles.

I'm up with a poorly dd2.

SuperBunny · 29/11/2008 04:29

I love your DS1, Franny! LOL @ 'one of of those non chemical people'

Hooray for going out, Pink. My sister is here and we drank wine and put together DS's Playmobil advent calendar. The box said it would take 25 minutes to set up but it took 2 of us over 45 mins

FMF

I know nothing about preserving butterflies, I'm afraid. Only small mammals. Butterflies creep me out I bet you could google though - most taxidermy chemicals are available from a chemist. I don't remember the name of the stuff I used.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 29/11/2008 07:00

Oh Toot, theres a thread going about somebody having a magic wand and changing things for people and I would wish for your DC's to all be well for as long as possible, you must be shattered.{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}.
I've got the residue of the headachey part of migraine now and will feel 'hungover' for the next 24hrs or so.
Which is fun as I have about 8 six year olds to entertain and feed this afternoon...

Yeah pink, what was it like to 'go out'?
completely envious lucky you, I hope you had a great time.

SB, at building calendar, I am like that with flat-pack furniture and usually end up wanting to burn it giving up.

weak [smiles] to all, have a great weekend..x

FrannyandZooey · 29/11/2008 09:48

morning i think ds2 slept for no longer than 45 mins last night
at times 20 mins, 10 or even 5 mins
i was tempted to grab a pillow and smother myself by the end of it
then had supposed lie in
interrupted by ds1 wailing "daddy is leaving ds2 to cry-yyy-yyyy"

he had gone into other room to get a clean vest as ds2 was wet
as hadn't changed his nappy when they got up
ds2 brought in to me waaahing
was freezing! and he has a cough!
have warmed him up and been made breakfast in bed
aaaaaaah [contented]

Guadalupe · 29/11/2008 11:24

I can't bear those broken nights, Franny, they do you in. Just when you can't take it any longer though, they seem to have a breakthough and the world is right again. Lie-ins help. It wasn't my turn today sadly.

There is gin and there is gin like there is shop cake and patisserie. Warm shite in a pub with duff tonic and slippery ice is in no way comparable to a Hendricks or Bombaby with sharp, crackling ice and tonic of the fever tree with a dash of lime that blasts the scent of juniper and cucumber up your nose.

Two Tesco value digestives. They came top in a blind taste test and they are the best. I haven't looked at the ingredients. I don't think I will.

A middling mango.

An apple.

I am having smoked haddock with a poached egg for lunch with slow roasted tomatoes. I don't have any of those ingredients but I want it very much so I will have to go shopping.

Guadalupe · 29/11/2008 11:25

Bombaby??

Bombay Sapphire.

SuperBunny · 29/11/2008 14:43

wonderful description of gin, guad. I want some now.

sorry for bad night franny. breakfast in bed sounsd lovleky

Toot, is he better noew?

fmf, hope you found sometyhing to do today.

TooTicky · 29/11/2008 15:17

Oh dear Franny, hope you and he sleep better tonight.

I have only once tried gin and it must have been the sort without limes and cucumbers
I was unimpressed anyway.

Dd2 not a happy little person, much coughing. I am crocheting whilst supplying endless mummy milk
Dd1 also coughing and sneezing and I feel a little surreal myself.

Ds2 bought a Sportacus costume on ebay and it arrived today so he is very lively and cheerful.
