For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Happy Thanks giving SB.

I got e-mail Toot..will reply soon.

sent package to webby man so have a day or so to chill a bit,

Juice,
grapes,
(nuts) pleeeeaaasssseeeee franny.

That is about all, no wonder I am hungry.

Apparently I am supposed to shop for food, and empty fridge and cupboards are not acceptable . Just because I don't eat doesn't mean no-one else wants to. What is wrong with nuts and tomato juice?

Have had a brilliant idea for a self portrait, which I could enter into a competition next year. Will start after christmas when current painting is finished. I am so inspired at the moment, it is divine.

TooTicky · 27/11/2008 16:09

at all your inspiration

SmilesLikeNoOther · 27/11/2008 16:14

I think looking through my portfolio did it Toot..I would e-mail you some preview pics but am pants at doing attatchments.

Looked up your uncle but no success so far...not to be daunted though.

daisy99divine · 27/11/2008 16:45

Blackcurrant tea did awesome things to your keyboard - it was surreal!

poor DS2 TooT, hope he's better soon

Go Mou with that inspiration!

FrannyandZooey · 27/11/2008 17:42

TooTicky · 27/11/2008 18:02

FrannyandZooey · 27/11/2008 18:04

FrannyandZooey · 27/11/2008 18:06

TooT it comes up about a billion times lol
were you searching on "franny" or something?

here's one with no paragraphs

Tatties · 27/11/2008 18:07

Franny's Banana Cake:

4 oz self raising wholemeal flour
half tsp mixed spice
2 oz butter
3 oz raisins
8 oz banana
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 180 / gm 4.

Mix flour and spice, rub in butter and stir in raisins. In a separate bowl, mash the banana and egg. Stir into the flour mixture and put into a well-greased tin (fills a small loaf tin I think or I usually double up the quantities and put it in an 8" circular cake tin). Turn oven down to GM 3 / 160 C and cook on the middle shelf for 1 hour or until cooked.

I usually cover it with a mixture of philadelphia cream cheese and fruit spread (about 2 parts cream cheese to one part fruit spread / jam). I blend them together in the liquidiser. However it is good just by itself as well. This recipe is pretty healthy as well as easy to make, but actually tastes very good. I've used it as a birthday cake before - it's lovely and sweet.

Tatties · 27/11/2008 18:10

x-posts Franny!

Dinner is cooking, there is a load of washing up to do in the kitchen and I am Avoiding It

Guadalupe · 27/11/2008 18:37

Fmv - you do your best, that's all you can do. It probably is always going to be s struggle, that's what dslexia institute said to me anyway, but you muddle along and the biggest thing is your support for him. You know you need to be on the case a bit more with the school now so all you can do is move on with it now, don't feel guilty about not having done enough when you were doing what you thought was best.

I kicked myself for thinking the school were doing what they should for two years but they were doing jack shit and the first I knew was when ds1 became a state and was suffering from anxiety and insomnia. Things are a bit better now but tbh I am looking forward to him going to high school where I know there are better provisions.

Shit few days here. Our passports were stolen despite being sent recorded delivery in an envelope with payslips and bank statement from mortgage company. Right fucking pain in the arse to deal with, royal mail, brokers, passport office and police. We have to be scrupulous with watching out for any funny activity now.

Also, vendor has put out house back on the market for 20,000 MORE, while the solicitors argue with each other and I lie on the ground with a bottle of gin propped up in my mouth with a cushion.

SuperBunny · 27/11/2008 18:41

'ello everyone

FMF, poor DS2 and you. Don't be too hard on yourself - being pushy isn't always the answer and sometimes makes things worse.

COat sounds great, Franny.

I'm tired.

SuperBunny · 27/11/2008 18:43

Guad

Do you need more gin?

Guadalupe · 27/11/2008 18:45
Tatties · 27/11/2008 18:46

Hi SB

Guad oh no! I think I have missed house stuff? Are you planning to move? Any vendor upping their price now is off their head

Guadalupe · 27/11/2008 18:49

Yep, except they have viewings, and they won't take it off market until our mortage is in. And it's delayed.

And now there is probably someone pretending to be me. I don't like it.

Tatties · 27/11/2008 18:55

It is all very stressful isn't it. Especially when you deal with people who aren't behaving properly (imo). Makes me want to scream, "be nice!"

SuperBunny · 27/11/2008 18:55

hello Tatties

SuperBunny · 27/11/2008 19:11

Where's stuffit? I hope she's not in Mumbai. It all sounds very scary.

TooTicky · 27/11/2008 20:47

Thank you Franny and Tatties
I was literally searching for "Franny's banana cake" [simple]

Guad, that sounds quite hellish but chocolate is better than gin.

Dd1 has gone clog dancing with my friend and is staying over with her tonight - no school for her tomorrow because of heating problems.
Dd2 still ever so hot. Right, must take her and the boys to bed.
Back down to make cake later

FrannyandZooey · 27/11/2008 20:53

pineapple, banana, apple, raisins
artichoke hearts, beetroot, cucumber, spinach, red pepper, tomatoes
hummus, kidney beans
satsuma, apple

15 mins stuff on the fit ball while ds1 danced around like a loon to a cheesy keyboard version of "I love you just the way you are" and ds2 sat in his bouncy chair goggling at the whole affair

daisy99divine · 27/11/2008 20:56

Oh Guad, that is so stressful and house price RISE - knowing it is the only one in the country is no help...

we have just managed to re-mortgage after 6 weeks of angsty hell from mortgage company on a mortgage I have been paying for 6 years with no problem!

it's bad bad bad at the moment

daisy99divine · 27/11/2008 20:57

Hope poor DD2 feels a bit better and has a good sleep TooT

BTW I have rung the homeopath you suggested so finger's crossed! She's not very near me but enough to be worth going I hope!

daisy99divine · 27/11/2008 20:58

Well don Franny with bouncy ball!

I had long swim on Wednesday but then felt ill again today - are they connected

SmilesLikeNoOther · 27/11/2008 21:30
