For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Yes, mango. I feel for you. On top of any stress you may be feeling that sounds very intense. I would desparately need head space. I think take-aways are very reasonable under the circumstances, it is not just the cooking but the washing up etc also.
How long do you think it will be like this for you?
Take-care.

I hate to ask this but were they seeds or eggs in the bananas? Isn't there something that lays their eggs in bananas?
Looks at bananas in dish in a different light, and chooses a pear.

TooTicky · 26/11/2008 08:06

Hello Smiles
Yes I did go to bed thank you.

My uncle has a photo on his website and he's an artist.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 26/11/2008 08:15

Can you let me have his web address Toot? I would love to take a look.

mangolassi · 26/11/2008 08:31

TooT, not sold but I now understand why SB has ishoos with his chin, the full glory wasn't clear from original link. Kind of Bruce Forsythe-y.

You can get bananas with seeds, big black things. Just means you're eating a different variety, I think. Ones without seeds are clones.

Actually the in-laws' in-laws turning up is A Good Thing. They hadn't been helping, and although nobody would ever dream of saying anything to their faces, it Had Been Noted. Is it any wonder I have limited language-learning motivation? I just smile and keep out of it all. B-i-l has a 50-50 chance of being discharged today - send me him good vibes please

Smiles - congrats on sudoku - I am a bit addicted. When do we get to see website??

TooTicky · 26/11/2008 08:36

I will do Smiles - I can't refind it through casual googling so I will ask him.

Bruce Forsythe? Oh no!! How could you? Bruce Forsythe is really quite creepy and weird.

TooTicky · 26/11/2008 08:40

His name is Patrick Cobbing if you want to try googling, but you'll probably find more about my grandfather.

Hello veggers how's it going?

I think I may be going insane with tired

Evie still up a LOT in the night with her pneumonia - and being sick all the time from coughing. Am zombified.

Is everyone eating fruit here these days?

daisy99divine · 26/11/2008 11:39

Hello veggers!

Smiles I wasn't awol just a night off and you lot were so chatty there is loads to catch up on!

Boco, poor you and poor Evie, are they any closer to finding a cause (((hugs)))

Mango - lol at rellies, hope BIL out today and peace descends at Mango Towers. I know what you mean about cooking. We stayed in New York for long time once, nothing in flat even to make tea, had to buy cups of tea from grocery store, but only 10c a cup! MAD

I am not a junior vegger but I too envy all the homey baking

SB - I would email BF and Do the Deed - you want to dump, in your head you have dumped he sounds like he is playing emotional games. I would have no truck with emotional games if you want it all over

TF - lovely to see you around!

Pink - DON'T IRON - it is not big and it's not clever or send it to Smiles

Toot - hello, are you feeling cheerier? how are all DCs and particularly DSs?

Smiles - put up a photo - be brave! and send us a link and happy birthday to Smilette yesterday

I ^like* BCs voice, but that's it. Well put off by rubbery face and chin... but I had a thing for Lovejoy so what do I know ?!?

daisy99divine · 26/11/2008 11:40

Franny - what happened to the coat?

SB - what multiple choice?

satsuma, pear, banana (felt anxious about seeds/ eggs but ok), that's all so far

SmilesLikeNoOther · 26/11/2008 13:20

this

SmilesLikeNoOther · 26/11/2008 13:34

Was supposed to do a post about that link but pressed post instead of preview.

Anyway it is for stressed people, especially tired boco, I find his voice, along with his teachings deeply relaxing. So so sorry about Evie (beautiful name), you poor things.....healing hugs to you both.

I am hoping the website will be up and running before christmas. I would like it to be as soon as possible but you all know what life with children is like.

Having a brain meltdown today, must make sure I don't operate any heavy machinary

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 13:37

just whizzing through but ROFL at TooT's pictures

just really laughed hard and had to explain to dp what I was laughing at so thanks for that

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 13:37

boco - oh no - will catch up properly later

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 14:27

Oh Boco I don't know what to say. Do you have any help? You must be totally exhausted. Poor Evie.

I did wonder about the seeds being eggs but I chose to discount that because it is just too disgusting for words. I have a whole bunch of the fuckers.

OH dear, DS has just wandered over completely naked other than a strategically placed star sticker

Oh, and on on his belly button and one on his nose to complement it.

daisy99divine · 26/11/2008 15:34

LOL at SB's DS

SmilesLikeNoOther · 26/11/2008 16:19

Boco, have you tried having an oil burner going with eucalyptus/tea-tree/cedar wood/niaouli/pine? they are all recommended for congestion problems (not all at once!).
Not sure how old Evie is,

Thinking of you...{{{{{{gentle healing hugs}}}}}

Boco · 26/11/2008 16:39

She's 3, nearly 4.

I do have an oil burner - will try that, thanks. I did enjoy Thich Nhat Hanh, he's very calming isn't he, and smiley

It's wednesday so I walk to and from school about a gazillion times - off on the next run now, with E bundled in the buggy, she's being very good about it, but I'd like to not have to now as it's very dull.

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 18:10

I didn't realise she was so little, Boco.

Olives
Grapes (2)
Salsa

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 18:18

ok i think having a thing for B Cribbins is posituvely sensible compared to those two smarmers Bergerac and Lovejoy

I am having problems with the rubberiness and the eyebrows however
i can handle the chin

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 18:21

apparently a journalist wants to interview me about wnaky baskets

ooooOOOoooh

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 18:21

oh the coat! i bought it
it's coming tomorrow apparently

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 18:21

oh the coat! i bought it
it's coming tomorrow apparently

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 18:22

I never had a thing for Lovejoy!

I need to go and make sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving lunch tomorrow but I have no motivation. I don't even like sweet potatoes really.

Is DS2 a bit better, Franny?

FrannyandZooey · 26/11/2008 18:26

oh yes, i think he is ok
i am pretty sure it was spices
just ate the same thing so will probably have dodgy day tomorrow

oh about the bottle - i just want to be able to leave one for dp if i go out sometimes
esp in the evening as ds2 usually wants to feed a lot then - but I am sure they will muddle through [hard hearted] - I never go out for long anyway
