For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Tatties, if you cram a satsuma into your tea it will overflow

I have to make a fruit cake. Bugger.

Ooh, Franny and Avi

FrayedKnot · 25/11/2008 22:30

Evening all

I am going to be singing Right Said Fred all tomorrow

I also heart BC's voice...and the one about digging a hole even funnier

Lots of veg

Yogaaaaaar

Tatties · 25/11/2008 22:44

Oooh nice satsuma (not in my tea )

TooT it is far too late to be baking cakes

Franny, LOL at grumpy mummy! Indeed my ds said something similar the other day, just came into the kitchen and asked me, "are you still grumpy mummy?" I wasn't aware I had been

I am off to bed with my second cup of redbush tea and knitting book from the library

TooTicky · 25/11/2008 23:14

Oh yes FK, we love the hole song too!!

Tatties, yes, it is too late. But unavoidable dd1 needs it for sugarcraft club tomorrow.

TooTicky · 25/11/2008 23:28

Oh SB, I was going to give you the cake recipe...

it was going to be a fruitcake y'see, so I melted the 4oz margarine..... mixed 8oz wholemeal SR flour with 4 oz dark brown sugar, 1tsp cinnamon and 1tsp mixed spice.....opened the raisins, realised they smelled rather odd and fermented....threw in a generous ounce of cocoa powder instead...added marge and about 8tbsp soya milk and, erm, baked it
It was nice though

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 00:00

Sounds v good toot. Will make it after Thanksgiving. Ta for recipe. You are very creative.

Avi, you can't tell me to do d) but not tell me what that is But thanks for your input! Hmm, curious - I just received an email from him saying, "Is there something you should've been telling me or that I should know?" I'm wondering if he has found me on here. But that would be ridiculous since it would take quite a bit of work. Yikes. And I haven't actually done anything I shouldn't. Other than dinner with a friend.

I think you should put a pic on your site, mou.

Nice to see so many people in here tonight.

We made crumpets for supper. No F&V in them but it must count for something, surely? We ate them with nutella kiwis and pears and dates.

I'll help with the ironing. I never do any.

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 00:01

I have satsuma envy

When are mangoes in season? They are cheap atm.

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 00:02

Glad docs was ok Tatties.

Franny - does DS2 need to take a bottle?

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 01:46

I just ate a banana but almost threw up because it had crunchy seeds in it. WTF?

mangolassi · 26/11/2008 03:31

Read the entire thread without clicking on link, assumed Franny fancied someone from Right Said Fred, thought that was weird enough, almost had a stroke when I clicked on pic of Bernard whoever...

I think I might be a rather junior 10/10er... this will be my excuse anyway. Also my excuse for not being able to cook, am very jealous of all the baking talk. We don't even own an oven. D'you think I could bake in a toaster oven?

SB - Mangoes are in season in Thailand from April for 2/3 months. We can't get any at all here now and if we could they'd be cunting. And send bf a nice, calm 'let's split up' email. Or do it on the phone if you're less of a coward. You want to split anyway, right? If you get into 'why do you always act like this?', it gives the impression that you want to stay together, I think. Or you'll end up splitting up in anger, throwing blame around.

I feel like my in-laws are reproducing before my eyes, now we have my in-laws' in-laws visiting. They arrived just as I fled left for work this morning. Dp has a 3 year-old nephew who refuses to poo in toilets - he sneaks off somewhere and comes back with that look on his face. Luckily since dd was born, I've developed quite proficient vocab for poo-ey conversations

Smiles, put a photo on your website (I'm one of those nosy people)

@ Bangkok

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 03:41

Mango, how do you cook? Or what do you eat?

I wonder where my mangoes come from. Mexico, perhaps?

LOL @ in-laws' in-laws being there. How bizarre. Is BIL getting better?

I've been mulling over Bernard Cribbins all evening. I think I have issues with his chin. But he's such a lovely man.

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 03:41

Bangkok Airport sounds a bit worrying

mangolassi · 26/11/2008 04:04

We don't cook. At all. We argue over whose turn it is to go and get the take out.

We do have a couple of hobs, so can make soups, curries, pasta sauce etc but we don't bother. When you can buy curry from the market at 20 baht a pop, it's hard to be motivated to cook. 20 baht was about 30p, but since the credit crunch thingy it's all of, ooh, 40p?

Yes, this extended-family-all-supporting-each-other lark looks better from a distance, I think. No, I don't mean that, I like it really. I think.

Issues with his chin? What about the scary stare? (I'm only going on the one pic, but if that's as good as it gets Franny can keep him)

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 04:22

Wow mango, what a different lifestyle you have. It does sound nice but, much as it feels like a chore most days, I think I'd miss cooking.

I think you have done well having so many people around. If anyone comes to stay with me, they piss me off after only a couple of days and I find it really hard to be nice.

I'm sure Franny will be relieved that we won't fight her for BC. I used to have a thing for older men. I could list my embarrassing crushes but I won't. Yet. Well, Bergerac, but that's ok, isn't it?

mangolassi · 26/11/2008 04:27

After BC, Bergerac is a positively rational crush!

mangolassi · 26/11/2008 04:30

Thanks, I wish I was the kind of person whose doors are always open, who never gets irritated, but I'm not. And we really need another bathroom if this is going to keep up. It's nice to know I'm not alone though, dp is very sweet and pretends to understand, but he really thinks I'm a loon.

SuperBunny · 26/11/2008 04:49

There was that man from that Zoovet program when I was little. He had gingery hair and a beard, iirc. And Nigel Havers. And others. But I must go to bed.

Good luck with your visitors Mango.

TooTicky · 26/11/2008 07:33

Is this any better?
Or this?
This?
Oh look!
Am I selling him at all?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 26/11/2008 07:34

Think I am going to go for a picture, so many of the others do, including artists I really admire.

baahs like a sheep!

I have....dramatic drum roll.....just finished my first soduko. Waits for applause to die down, twirls and gives a lttle bow. rofl

Has daisy gone awol! ddddaaaiiiissseeeee!

Trying to have a crush on someone else, but am remaining true to mango man.

sighs dreamily.

Have a good day to all,

SmilesLikeNoOther · 26/11/2008 07:35

Toot! hi, just noticed you are up. Did you get your cake baked..(frowns), have you been to bed at all young lady?

TooTicky · 26/11/2008 07:36

Mango, that does sound very complicated. I think I would get quite bad tempered. It's good you don't have to cook for them all though.
The mystery pooer sounds a little challenging.

SB, I had a banana with seeds in once, I know just what you mean.
