For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

This will make your brain hurt..I am ironing, dancing to Blondie on Heart fm, and eating minstrels, why waste a good bout of insomnia eh? Tis a party for one.

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 02:05

yes, making Christmas cards, very good SB - paper and cards in one day!

SuperBunny · 21/11/2008 02:08

Minstrels

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 02:12

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 02:14

oh, the posts came in a funny order (or I read them in a funny order)
Yeh to the Minstrels and Blondie

Boo to ironing - but then I know what you are like Otter

SuperBunny · 21/11/2008 02:14

I have NO chocolate

SmilesLikeNoOther · 21/11/2008 02:14

Puts rest of minstrels in little bowls (oops, typo, put 'bowels') and passes around.

SuperBunny · 21/11/2008 02:19

I'm off to watch the end of My Fair Lady and to work on my cards. Night all x

SmilesLikeNoOther · 21/11/2008 02:22

Night SB, and Daisy.

filthymindedvixen · 21/11/2008 08:48

mou, I think I want to marry your ds! What a beautiful way with words he has

OP posts:
SomeOtherFruityBitch · 21/11/2008 09:05

Smiles/Mou - that is so lovely

Daisy, we love you in all your daisyness. They are actually one of my favourite flowers.

Ds1 is not without teeth yet - it happens on the 2nd Dec. And ds2's op is now on 10th Dec.

Ds2 settled himself at the top of the stairs last night after his bout so I slept there too to make sure he didn't roll down. I spent part of the night sitting up in a sleeping bag, leaning against a box. Buzz Lightyear does not make a comfortable pillow. Oh, and dd2 decided to join me and wiggled constantly.
And then ds2 woke up to find that the bug is also affecting his other end

Christmas cards SB? You are very organised!!

SomeOtherFruityBitch · 21/11/2008 09:06

Oh yes, I'd forgotten my name. I had an angsty moment last night then hid. I'll change back now.

TooTicky · 21/11/2008 09:11

There.

mangolassi · 21/11/2008 09:24

Toot - that is my first ever thank you note. It's heartwarming (and also a sad comment on the state of my life, but moving swiftly on - ) Sorry your ds are both sick, that's not fair. Is there any chance of going back to bed today?

Choirs - lovely
Beautiful smiles and bwifful kids' comments - also lovely
Daisy - I like your old name
Mou - I like your new one
FK - I am new. And mostly confused. trying to keep up

TooTicky · 21/11/2008 09:37

Hello Mango
It's only ds2 who is sick. Ds1 has teeth problems but his guts are in order.
I have two dds too but I won't confuse you with them yet
Who do you have? And how did you come to be in Thailand?
I have to go off puter for a bit to be a good mummy but will be back later on

mangolassi · 21/11/2008 09:45

Oh that's right, it's one ds, sick from both ends - should read more carefully

Have just one dd, she's 2 and thankfully not sick.

Came here to volunteer, met dp, ended up finding work and stayed (this is the short version ). Has been about 6 years now.

daisy99divine · 21/11/2008 11:07

Hi Toot, you are having a time, missed paranoia, glad it's gone
poor DSs - every night you seem to sleep in some contorted combination of positions - hope all getting on ok

can you have a duvet day?

Mango - love short version, sounds exotic! I have known my DS since 2 and we grew up in same street...

Does make visiting all parents easy though

Thanks for kind votes, Daisy I will stay

Otter - thanks for minstrels, forgot to say last night

see all later, busy work day

SmilesLikeNoOther · 21/11/2008 11:32

Well, my day is not going as planned ,
I was going out on my bike but have gear problems but am routing through my portfolio instead and am as happy as a proverbial pig.

Big hugs Toot, it is so stressfull when you are tired and DC's are ill. Wish there was something I could do.

Last night was lovely and made me giggle, I don't know how I managed my insomnia before I found MN.

I like your story Mango, your dd will love that as she grows up.

Well, back to my paintings,...it is like meeting up with old friends.

TooTicky · 21/11/2008 14:01

Is your dh Thai, Mango? [nosy]

I have been untangling wool. It is remarkably time-consuming.
Dd2 keeps wailing - am hoping she will fall asleep on the way to school. If she doesn't, she will sleep when we get back which will make for another disastrous night.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 21/11/2008 14:25

Hi Toot, .

All you need to help you with the wool is a small energetic feline!

I have just hit my tired zone where I could sleep on the central reservation of the M25. I quite like it. I feel all cosy and warm and could quite happily retire to a hammock on my island for a weekend, (for sleep!).
Life feels as if it is taking a turn....good, good feeeling, I must thank my guardian angel.

I hope DD sleeps, Toot, there is nothing worse than a grumpy youngster, and then a hyper one when they should be tired.

pinkspottywellies · 21/11/2008 15:20

Choir was abitnaff not really my thing. I might look for another one though or a band or something. Can't wait til after baby so I can start running again.

Can't keep up with the chat but have read. Smiles, I love your new name. DD is starting to say things like 'love mummy very much' which makes me melt!

I am VERY tired. Tried to sleep earlier but nothing doing so we're having a bit of TV

Guadalupe · 21/11/2008 15:42

Toot - they are absolutely delicious! I've never seen chocolate covered gooseberries, or indeed rhubarb, before. Thank you so much.

Ds1 is having a sleepover. There will be four eleven year olds eating pizza and watching films in his room. I imagine they will be noisy and are unlikely to be asleep by 10pm. Hmmmmm.

FrannyandZooey · 21/11/2008 15:48

apparently "mummy and me have decided to have a fire in the garden"
it is BALTIC

i have a new sling hurrah! it is v pretty

i am trying to buy one of these second hand. How fab is that? I am constantly freezing when we step outdoors. I have asked the woman if she will take an offer but to be honest I would pay MORE than she is asking just to be reasonably warm again.

oh god I bet she is a lurker and price will now double

Guadalupe · 21/11/2008 15:49

Oh, that is fab. I've never seen those before either.

FrannyandZooey · 21/11/2008 15:51

I need it NOW
when will she email back?
when I had ds1 I tried to get a friend to knit me a double headed poncho LOL
but this is much better
