For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

someone has just rung up and offered to do me a free website , supporting arty farty types. (suspicious emoticon), oh but wouldn't it be so coooollll!

littlerach · 18/11/2008 16:12

Daisy, the annoying thing is dh's car broke dwon on the M5 about 6 weeks ago, and it was the Head Gasket (??) and cost so much I nearly feel down with shock.
We have had it back a week and a bit, now mine breaks.

I would rather not have one, but we live in a tiny village with hardly any public transport and no pavements to school.

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 16:18

Oh LR don't mention head gaskets. I know too well their importance and cost.

One of the great things about living in the city is the freedom from car tyranny that one has, it is much more possible to walk everywhere, and I love it

Actually it's one of the main things that puts me off moving out to the sticks countryside

Mou - I say go for it - but of course you need to consult your Guad Shrine to know if the offer can be trusted

OsmosisBOOnana · 18/11/2008 17:28

Diet coke is good, i'll hear nowt else about it.

have been v busy today, got the usual 'oh, not got much done today have you?' when DH got home. Guess h won't be wanting the rather lovely smelling spag bol I've made for him and his daughter then.

cunting mango

Well done MamaG!!!

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 17:34

Tsk, tsk, you being a nutritionist n'all. If you must drink coke, at least drink fat coke. Mind you, the mouth blasting fizzy aspartamine-laden vic C tablets I took earlier for a hangover could probably strip the throat off a goat. I don't really know what that means, but it sounds abrasive.

I have poked around the back looking for small bits of woods and discovered another box of out of date gluten free St Peters beer. I am not sure why we bought so many, well, probably because they were cheap being out of date. Still, it's a bonus this evening. Hair of the dog.

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 17:41

Gosh, Guad, sounds like fun and games at yours then! Odd that St Peter has the beer - do you get the keys to the kingdom of heaven at the bottom

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 17:46

St Peters is the brewery. It's a very nice brewery, their summer and golden ale is delicious but I blow up like a balloon if I drink that.

Actually I got married there, which sounds odd, getting married in a brewery, but there is a very nice medieval hall and moat.

mou · 18/11/2008 18:04

BOO!![GRIN] I'm under the large lumpen carpet!

What is it with the c**ing mangos?, puts arm protectively around 10/10er newby and covers her ears.

Juice,pepper,onion,tomatoes,raspberry,more tomatoes,raisins(?)

Did what you said Daisy and I got to hold a young thrush. My friends dog had caught it and I got it and it was so beautiful and I could feel it's heart beating. Isn't nature absolutely f**ing wonderfull.

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 18:05

Really, Mou, was it alright?

mou · 18/11/2008 18:08

Not sure, it seemed to be Ok but didn't fly off but I bet it was terrified.

SuperBunny · 18/11/2008 18:14

Oh, you have been busy here today.

LR, your day sounds very stressful. I'd have cried too.

I like the idea of getting married in a Brewery.

Hope the little thrush was ok.
The 'famous' person is Gabrielle Union Should I go?

The radio is now playing non-stop christmas music and they don't even play Slade.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 18:48

SERIOUSLY wtf? diet coke? how can you all drink that shit? this thread has gone bizarre

we are VEGGERS chaps
we don't drink diet coke
gawd bring back 100 and her brie and coffee, she was glowing with goodness compared to diet coke

SuperBunny · 18/11/2008 18:51

I keep asking, where is ahundred? And Bbbee?

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 19:14

See what happens when you go away, Franny? It's all neurotoxins a go go.

I blame Pink. [wink

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 19:15

I also intentionally ommited the bracket as I like the rhyme.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 19:17

hmmmm

you might be right
but she's up the duff, we can't chuckher in the pit

greeny i know, i preferred the village hall i think (although it was equally drafty) but in my absence they seem to have decided it is a yurt
a yurt full of diet coke

OsmosisBOOnana · 18/11/2008 20:07

blimey

if I had only known you could become glowing with goodness with brie and coffee, and there was me wasting my hard earned pennies on DC.

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 20:10

Well maybe not goodness, but definitely panache.

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 20:11

Where is she anyway? Actually I think 100 may be over these here parts.

OsmosisBOOnana · 18/11/2008 20:16

fairynuff. I don't think it's particularly criminal to enjoy the drink that shall not be named as part of a healthy diet though.

However, if it is causing offence, I shall swap to some other satan liquor. Hard to think of anything as divisive but I'll put my mind to it

Mou, fret not about the cunting mango thing, tis a 'quiche' joke I believe, not a slur on Mangolassi.

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 20:20

ok, everyone in the pit
go on, in you go

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 20:27

hmm
have eaten packet of m+s chocolate ginger biscuits

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 20:29

I will go in the pit with my beer. It might be GF but it is still off.

I have chopped a mountain of kindling and now the fire is crackling away and all the children are coughing for some reason. I don't think it is to do with the fire.

Guadalupe · 18/11/2008 20:29

Can we have a fire in the pit?

FrannyandZooey · 18/11/2008 20:33
