For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I treated myself to some Joe Brown Boots in a sale and it is like wearing plastic bags filled with cotton wool, most strange....pass the bottle covered in a brown paper bag someone.

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:37

Wow! you have been chatty!

So glad re purse Boco

Guad hope you had lovely birthday evening, rats about stress with house and money - but perhaps better to know now and make rational decision before you commit than to take on mortgage and big planning project and find it all goes tits up later? At least you can think whether it is really the right thing?

Toot - so sorry re sick bed hope all are well again and hospital days go ok

Mou - have a chat, it will help, then maybe reflect alone on way home?

Franny - 4 months already? I joined yurt on the Franny had a little Yam thread - time flies! well done

Osba - congrats on exam and boo to poorly parking students - but that means the car is mended YEH!

FK - did you ever get to replace your iPod?

Franny - christmas presents - I am going to get a wooden carpark thing, pintoy or some such sustainable wood thing - quite excited really

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:39

Hello mangolassi, I am the naughty one at the back of the yurt, hiding behind the pole. I don't sleep, and run around in circles a lot but it makes me happy.

mou · 18/11/2008 15:42

Daaiiisssyyyy..come and play tag around the pole. pleeeaaassseee.

mou · 18/11/2008 15:44

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:46

Hello Lassi! Missed your arrival

Well done, MamaG, whas a beautiful babEEE!

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:49

Meant to say what a beautiful baby!

Right, Pink, you next I think!

Greensleeves · 18/11/2008 15:51

wtf is yumberry?

well done MamaG

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:53

Not sure, I was rather impressed to be drinking it - very up there on the fruity stakes I feel!

It is deemed to be a superfruit don't you know?

I think that is just to make it expensive!

mou · 18/11/2008 15:53

Yeah, sorry MamaG Hello and congrats again.

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:54

BTW can anyone recommend a good juicer? It has been suggested making fresh fruit juice will ease my DS problems so to speak...

I have never got one, on the basis they are useful until about Boxing Day....then consigned to top of cupboard gadget junk yard

FrayedKnot · 18/11/2008 15:54

Cooeee

So far....

Big salad and hoummous filled pittas
2 sats & an apple

DS has a terrible cough, sounds like he's on 50 a day....had to sleep next to me last night and every time he coughed (approx. every 2 minutes) I flew off the mattress...it was not the best night ever.

Sorry to hear DS2 was ill, TooT. Hope he is better today, and you have been able to get things washed and dried.

SB

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:56

Oh, FK, I know that feeling - a hacking cough in the ear is never nice and unlike a DH/ DP you can't boot the rugrats poor dear DCs in the ribs...

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 15:58

Oh heck, have just spilled the blooming expensive yumberry juice on keyboard....

FrayedKnot · 18/11/2008 16:00

Can I just say, I wsa never part of this diet coke malarky

Yes MamaG / Franny anytime you want a night off please feel free to leave either of your yummy DS's with us in the yurt

FrayedKnot · 18/11/2008 16:02

Yumberry juice...fruit of the yum-yum tree, obviously

Greensleeves · 18/11/2008 16:03

Aaaargh, ds2 can go back to nursery tomorrow after vile tummy bug but I am feeling vomity again (how can I have it twice FGS?) and ds1 threw up at school today

will the pukefest never END

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 16:04

Yes, you have to be careful that the Qwangle Wangle is out of the tree before you chop it down for firewood or pluck it's berries

They can only be plucked collected by virgins at the full moon

so if you think about it, they're quite reasonably priced really

littlerach · 18/11/2008 16:06

Diet coke
Ick!!

( I prefer full fat)

MamaG, nice ot see yo uback! How are you?

Hi Lassi, welcome!

Have had the day from hell.
Dh away working.
Car has been Playing Up - battery light permanently on
Today it took 5 attempts ot start after school drop off.
At the roundabout the brakes failed so I whizzed through
Got home and turned it off, then it wouldn't re start.
So I cried

A Man is coming ot get it tonight and my dad (who owns a garage but nowhere near here) will chat to him to see if ti is worth saving
I hate that car, as it always breaks.

Anyway, my v good friend picked dd2 up at lunchtime from school.
Dd1 had to miss her club and came home on the school bus.
Friend picking us up in the morning and my manager will give us a lift home tomorrow afternoon.
Dh due back tomorrow night.

So even more rubbish food.

On the plus side, I haven't been able t go out so have actually caught up with most of my work

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 16:07

Oh, Greensleeves, I have been gripped by this puckathon, and the thought of getting it again well, all I can say is get some yumberries down you to ward off evil bugs!

daisy99divine · 18/11/2008 16:10

Oh, LR, poor you. At least your Dad can help on the "is it worth saving" front.
I always get conned. I blew up the engine on our camper van and the con garage man I spoke to said "yes, love, I can help you"

He was speaking with a forked tongue which I discovered several hundreds of pounds later
