For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

What music do you like FMF? I live for music.
Feeling a little better this morning-.
My Ds has sent a male friend (of mine) a silly picture with the caption 'give us a kiss' but on my email address, and he didn't put his name on it. H is furious. This weeekend just gets better and better. ( I thought it was quite funny, but somewhat embarassing )
Somebody beam me up!
Can I squat in the yurt for a bit?!

Prhaps I will get out on my bike later.

Every time I come on this thread I picture live vegetables roaming the land...

Tittybangbang · 26/10/2008 11:36

[slinks back in and hides shamefaced at the back of the room]

Joined this thread a while back and did fairly well for a little while. However, I've spent the last few weeks backsliding in a fairly major way.

Want to get back on board and need a bit of encouragement.

CharleeInChains · 26/10/2008 11:39

Bonjour!

I am doing rather pants this weekend, i always slump at the weekend.

I have still been having Watermelon and yesterday i had a lovely wild rice salad ahla' Jamie Oliver style i was so yummy!

filthymindedSixSixSixen · 26/10/2008 11:43

right. Easier to say what sort of music I don't like. I'm not fond of country and western, though bluegrass if it is sufficiently folkie is ok. Not keen on R&B.

Will give pretty much anything a go though.

I am 38 and have been through pretty much every 'teen' incarnation from hippy to punkm to biker to goth.

on my mp3, euphoric trance nestles next to Martin Carthy; Faure to the Pixies...

filthymindedSixSixSixen · 26/10/2008 11:44

'ello Titty!

Must summon up some enthusiasm for today....

BBBeeast · 26/10/2008 12:40

TooTIfYouAreScared · 26/10/2008 21:45

Welcome back Titty

I'm really quite tired.

Sweetcorn, crown prince squash, carrot, apple, apple. Oh, and I'm about to have some apple.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 26/10/2008 21:46

Hello lovely people

Managed to cobble togther an outfit last night - black dress, sparkles, knock em dead shoes, so it was all ok. but very late to bed and of course DS doesn't understand time changes so an early start as well, yawn. Had small glass of wine with dinner (tut tut) and felt like crap all day

hello TooT! Glad you had a lovely muddy time yesterday!

Food not going well today - two tangerines, mushroom risotto, roasted veg, purple broccoli, juice. six again.

Also chocolate, biscuits and a can of coke ooooooooooooops.

Exercise - chasing DS round Museum all morning, up a million stairs and back down, does that count?

Tired now. Off to bed in a corner of the yurt x

TooTIfYouAreScared · 26/10/2008 21:48

LittleRach, at pumpkin man!
Thanks for youir email - didn't see it straight away because dp rather over-zealously deleted it. Sounds interesting but can't help wondering if I am too hardcore for this area

berolina · 26/10/2008 21:49

Hello.

I wrote a couple of paragraphs today while ds2 had a rare late-morning sleep.

Nice, brief visit this afternoon from old university friend who was passing through Berlin.

Made Christmas cards with ds1.

Sweet potato, parsnip, potato and shallot with red cabbage with apple and sultanas.

Must order veg box and deal with washing now. Want to go to bed.

daisy99divine · 26/10/2008 22:09

Hello sultry pouting veggers

Glad the party went well Toot, and I bet nobody cared two hoots about the biscuits, I mean making wooden badges makes up for all!

LMD good news re black tie party, hope you're not too tired

like sound of shoes Osba, although I too am boots (when not dressed sturdily in tweeds to pass self off as librarion {gwink])

Sorry for those having pants or low or flat weekends, but I suspect they are over now [hhmm}

lol at DCs sending messages to all and sundry - and love the halloween names, I am not confident I could change and change back, perhaps I'll try

sorry if I have missed anyone, but lovely to catch u

daisy99divine · 26/10/2008 22:12

Oh, fruit and veg you say?

well,
courgette,
broccoli,
oven vegetable
orange juice
leeks
banana
satsuma

Exercise:
jumping up and down in lots of puddles on long very wet wonderfully muddy autumn walk!

I think I shall be joining FMV in the pit, with the pendulum

  • shove up and make room!
daisy99divine · 26/10/2008 22:12

Oh
Hello Titty!

we haven't met, I am very newbie, but welcome! or welcome back rather!

daisy99malign · 26/10/2008 23:02

OOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo

I have just changed my name (for the first time!)

What do you think dear pouting veggers?

CharleeInChains · 27/10/2008 13:06

Afternoon all.

As i type i have in my hand a Wholemeal Pitta bread stuffed with Rocket, Parsley, Grated Carrott and some low fat hummus, and boy who knew healthy food could taste so good?

I had my usual melon for brekkie. Not sure about dinner yet.

My children are being particuarl obnoxious and whingey today, i reallyhate the toddler years, i canc ope with new born and then after about 6 but 2,3,4 and 5 are horrible!

Luckily i have amiture dramatics tonight so i can have some 'me time.'

SuperBunny · 27/10/2008 13:19

Hello all

You all seem to bve very good with the 10/10

I have done lots of exercise - mainly walking long distances in high heeled boots. I'd say about 6 miles each day, probably a bit farther.

And ok on the F&V front too:

carrots (2)
orange
green curry (2)
Pad Thai (1)
banana

Not terribly good, but better than usual atm

Off out today but have ditched the heels in favour of comfy shoes. We are going to the children's museum. Charlee'd love it - lots of poorly supervised 2, 3, 4 and 5 yr olds wreaking havoc. Wonderful. Wish me luck!

CharleeInChains · 27/10/2008 13:22

Lol SuperBunny! Its only becuase DS1 is on half term thus week and he is whinging about EVERYTHING!!!!! They are fine by themselves.

At the moment they are glued to Mickey Mouse Club House

I am in the middle of making up bloody nebulisers and hundreds more meds. [sigh]

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 27/10/2008 15:28

hello all

bananannananananananana (never sure when to stop writing that word)
two tangerines

not much else

(tis LittleMyDancing, btw, in my new incarnation)

tired again today, might have to lie down.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 27/10/2008 15:46

Charlee, I read that you had your hand in your pitta and had to do a double take.

This is a half-lazy, half-tidying day. I have finished my hat

TooTIfYouAreScared · 27/10/2008 15:47

Oh, a tomato. Where is Franny?

TooTIfYouAreScared · 27/10/2008 15:47

And three dates.

hammouhouseofhorror · 27/10/2008 15:59

Anyone know how MamaG is?

Pear,
Juice
am going to cheat and make a veg soup.

Have been for a nice walk with DD, (jumping over puddles and not in them because she didn't want to get dirty).

On and off here all day, pottering about, tidying, reading, referreeing arguments, falling asleep, thousands of cups of tea.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 27/10/2008 16:04

A child who doesn't want to get dirty? I haven't got one of those. Mine are the type that lie down in mud
