For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I'll have some frazzles please!

SuperBunny · 04/11/2008 19:19

Ooo, frazzles. I want some. DO they have meat in them? I bet they don't - just flavouring. I might ask for some for xmas.

filthymindedvixen · 04/11/2008 19:21

Hmm. Well. You can all have some frazzles. As long as you eat your tea. Fizzy drinks are the devil's brew though. Bad for your teeth and your bones.

SuperBunny · 04/11/2008 19:28

I don't drink fizzy stuff [smug]

I just eat crap.

Is Franny ever coming back? Is Lully ok? Where's ahundred?

pinkspottywellies · 04/11/2008 19:38

DH is not keen on meat free either TF but generally eats whatever he is given (and asks where the meat is!) I have a friend though whose DH insists upon meat at every meal!

I like baked sweet potatoes. Just shove them in the oven for an hour as they are. They taste buttery and are quite rich so I wouldn't eat a huge one.

Is Mou's thread the one where she is amazing and inspirational and fab?!

TooT so sorry that your boys are going through such crappy stuff at the same time. You must feel very stretched

I never drink fizzy crap Actually my fave 'treat' drink is apple and elderflower juice (Copella) and I had some this afternoon at Nan-in-laws. Mmmmm.

I had nightnurse once BBB. It kept me awake all night I don't know whether it just doesn't work for me or if I was iller than I thought but I was a bit hallucinaty so I've never gone near it since.

OsBa hope you got the essay done. And that the bus journey home wasn't too traumatic.

I did my stepping last night and today have eaten peaches, beans, peanut butter (nuts do count , sweetcorn, carrot, cuc, juice. And 2 cups of coffee I seem to be drinking rather a lot of coffee ( I say a lot, maybe 3 cups a week! but still.)

mou · 04/11/2008 20:12

Grins and peers into yurt, having caused heaps of trouble over diet coke. Refuses to look fmv in the eye. I'll volunteer to be tied up in the corner of the yurt......

at pinks compliment about my thread. aawwww, thanks Pink! I will put it on here

And another nut fan....,sidles up to Pink.

Toot, being busy is sort of my way of relaxing. If I sit down and stop I almost always fall asleep!! I grew up in a household without a television so was used to entertaining myself.

I added,
peppers,
onions,
sweetcorn,
blackcurrant and apple.

Admire the yoga TF, that and meditation are things that I aspire to but never achieve as I can not stay still for long enough!

Thread title.. have only come up with 'I get a 'peas'ful, easy feeling...'

at Daisy, don't go, you are lovely.

Have done the bus thing Osba, with a baby in similar condition but in a front carry sling...ew ew!

Goodnight all.

filthymindedvixen · 04/11/2008 20:38

oh god, I have been goaded into setting up a facebook thingy. I am terrified. I will have no life...

tomatoes, broccolli, cauli, peppers, muchrooms.
With lunch, I am whupping your vegi-slacking asses!

OsmosisBOOnana · 04/11/2008 21:47

I have not finished my essay, but good works were done and will hopefully polish it off tomorrow by lunch, then get cracking with Human Nutrition... Then hopefully by next week both will be done and I can start on the behemoth that is Global, due on the 21st...

Not tricky except that this w/e my best friend is coming to stay (first time neither of tit juicing or preggers in a v long time so messiness will be involved) and the w/e after all of my family are coming to stay for DD's 2nd birthday.

So not a lot of free time.

However - who am i kidding, I never do much uni bizniz at the w/e anyway.

Anyone good at proof reading stuff and know much about sociology?

Everyone seems perky ce soir. Nice.

I had a glass of wine at lunch time.

TooTicky · 04/11/2008 22:53

I need a hug.

SuperBunny · 05/11/2008 05:09

Why do you need a hug, Toot?

We have a new president. And I was there

TooTicky · 05/11/2008 08:22

Oh, doesn't matter, Sorry.

Wow, that must have been really exciting - they said he was from Chicago on Newsround yesterday and I thought of you.
Ds1 is pleased - he's been following the election stuff for a while.

OsmosisBOOnana · 05/11/2008 08:45

Yay! Go Obama! How exciting to be in America right now. I actually had a little tear in my eye watching him this morning. Idiot hormonal fool!

TooT - what's up? What happened?

CharleeInChains · 05/11/2008 08:46

Morning all.

How is everyone? All good here, breathing a sigh of relief now DS's are back at school! Although ds2 kept me awake ALOT last night.

Still ploughing on with the f&V.

mou · 05/11/2008 08:55

Toot....massive hugs, for whatever you need the. As you have offered to me, we are here if you need to offload and here anyway if you just need comfort and the company of friends.

I am sorry, of the two I am glad Obama got in but I think Clinton shot herself in the foot and would have made the better president. I worry about Obama, but can't put my finger on why.

I'm not on facebook fmv, infact until I came on MN I couldn't even text and didn't know what LOL meant...I am officially the yurts durbrain,

Another hug for Toot and I will be on and off MN all day as I am dossing working from home today.

filthymindedvixen · 05/11/2008 08:57

hugging Toot!
SB, have been rivited to tv since 6am! It's rather exciting isn't it?

daisy99divine · 05/11/2008 12:07

Toot - big hugs and hugs again!

Obama - his Chigago speech brought tears to my eyes

Having an MN moment, another thread people on it saying weird things I don't like - all a bit disconcerting and unusual for me, I shall never venture from the yurt again snuggles into mango cushions

Kiwi
banana
orange juice

Another hug for Toot

daisy99divine · 05/11/2008 12:10

Mou your post is lovely - passes a small glass of tomato juice and handful of nuts, with a bow of respect

TooTicky · 05/11/2008 12:54

OsmosisBOOnana · 05/11/2008 12:56

Coolio, a little babyG shall be amongst us soon!

I have finished an essay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a subject I don't like!

I am going to the bar for lunch and a G&T. Then I shall have a look at nutrition.

juniper essence
banana

ah, I'm rubbish. But I don't really giving a flying fuck today. I have finished something! I don't even care if it's rubbish because I put in the hours and concentrated and read and did stuff you're supposed to do with essays. I didn't do any reading or researching for any of my last degree's essays, just winged it.

[proud of myself smug grin]

And i can pick my car up later.

OsmosisBOOnana · 05/11/2008 12:58

TooT - glad you're feeling better, or are you just putting a happy face on.....

Also, is CLV Lully? Is she ok?

TooTicky · 05/11/2008 12:59

Yes CLV is Lully.

TooTicky · 05/11/2008 13:01

Well done for finishing your essay. I'm rubbish at them.
