For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello pink - am v pleased with Lewis, wasn't it nailbiting though? I felt a bit sorry for MAssa in the end, for a little while anyway, he took it so gracefully.

Hope ds1 is going to be OK Toot. DD and I off to the dentist on Weds, I have been twice in the last 15 years (wisdom tooth removal x 2) and dd has never been . DD says that her tooth still hurts from when she fell the other week - am wondering if this is part of her after school angst perhaps? Tooth pain is the absolute pits, I hope you get him sorted out sooner rather than later.

TooTicky · 03/11/2008 16:33

Oh TF, hugs to you and dd!!

Mou, don't be sorry. You are welcome to air and rant and vent all you want to in here. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

OB, oh buggeration
You won't be popping in this week then?

Oh MamaG, go go go!! Or sleep, so as to be ready for the twinge that makes you sit bolt upright in the small hours.

Ds1 has been to the dentist. They suspect an abscess as well as growing pains so he has ABs. Which I detest. He also has a coating over the sensitive area.

TigerFeet · 03/11/2008 16:39

Oh poor love, absesses are horrid (or so I understand, never having had one myself). I know you don't like AB's but he really will feel better after a day or two with them, seeing as he has a proper painful infection then there probably isn't much else anyone could do for him.

OsmosisBOOnana · 03/11/2008 16:59

No TooT sorry. Am not looking forward to the 4 hour+ round trip from my house to university with a toddler, pram and heavy bags. Hopefully my car will be mended by Friday as I have to by there by 9, which is never going to happen.

pinkspottywellies · 03/11/2008 17:09

Glad you have a solution TooT and hope he feels better soon. Guess it still might take a day or two though?

TF it was awful at the end! I always say it ain't over til it's over etc but I had been a bit resigned to the fact that Lewis might never be world champ, just one point away every year!! I felt so sorry for Massa's dad and everyone who thought he had won - they were all jumping up and down and so excited but I guess they had been watching Vettel and not Glock Also a bit gutted for Felipe cause it was sooooo close! But if he had won the Championship everyone would have been citing all the really dodgy stewards decisions (in Ferrari's favour ) as the reason why!

Sorry everyone I'll stop talking gobbledy gook now!

Just doing carrots, parsnips and sprouts for dinner and had satsuma, oj, tinned peaches and dried apricots this morning. So 7 which is good for me lately!! Will have more fruit after tea. And do stepper.

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 17:31

I might have to develop a crush on someone else soon. DH is being rather unsupportive att he moment.

I have had cannellli beans (with tuna) for lunch and OJ and will have 3 sorts of veg with left over roast beef tonight.
I need to up my game, don't I?
I'm feeling a bit over sensitive and glum this week. Bastard lack of sunlight!

We have had seasons of fruit etc as a thread title before. 5th of cucumber made me smile, but think we need a longer-term one?

Sorry for men troubles.

Toot, obv I meant blue marle OR mauve mix

pinkspottywellies · 03/11/2008 21:25

Does Zippi not come in the yurt any more? Is she still on MN? Tell her I said HI if anyone sees her around!

When's Boco's driving test?

pinkspottywellies · 03/11/2008 21:26

I've had an apple so I make it 8 and I'm going on the stepper now. I've also had a malteser ice-cream and too many mini Crunchies from the trick or treat chocolate bag. I always buy stuff and no-one knocks at the door. Do you think it's cause the lights are all off? Does that put people off??

KanyedFrot · 03/11/2008 21:54

Hello

mou · 04/11/2008 05:25

Impressed by the fencing, I would run like a wimp when anybody lunged at me with the sharp pointy thing(wimpy emoticon).

Toot, I can understand you not liking AB's, but if you don't use them very often they are really effective. Poor DS1
DD has lost 8 teeth now and she is only 5, she steadfastly refuses to wobble them. Do little molars fall out as well? if so I am sure DS has not lost his yet.

SB, the running/cycling really helps (with stress in all areas), and I try to do something positive with my life so that I am not focussing on the hurtfull bits. And my sense of humour helps! I never did crushes, not even celeb ones really, so it has been a bit if a shock as much as anything else. The diet coke thing is when I am on top of things cos I have to admit he is really rather yummy!.

KF, do you feel as if you have a hangover? that is how I feel after a migraine. Drink lots. I did a thread about migraines and got a few tips, like keeping a simple diary for triggers.

Can't believe I am up at this ungodly hour, I am going to work in a minute. Haven't slept, I should have got up and done something useful.

Yesterday;

pear,
banana,
juice,
sweetcorn,
petit pois,
green beans,
sweet potatoe(yuck,....anybody got a decent recipe for sweet potatoes apart from a crumble and sticking custard on top!)
apricots

Must go, before I fall asleep on the keyboard.

Fab day to all, (thinking of MamaG).

mou · 04/11/2008 07:13

TF, I have put the link on that other thread, exscuse the mistakes, I am dodgy at doing links!!

daisy99divine · 04/11/2008 09:27

Morning!
Mou are you still awake? if so, I love sweet potatoes mixed with other veg - sweet potato and potato mash and we roast them with meat
and sliced fine for good crisps (although I have to buy those )

lots of fruity hugs to others, well done SB with 10/10 and Woo Hoo for the elections!

I love the fencing precisely because you get to run at people with pointy things... except right now I mostly miss

Sorry for glum Fumf and poor head FK/KF and hope all other veggers feeling lovely

LOW MOANS for MamaG!!!

daisy99divine · 04/11/2008 09:27

Toot how poor DS1 tooth?
